  1. I didn't even know this existed. Wow. Thanks!
  2. Zhane sang on Ring My Bell for those that don't know..
  3. I never knew this.. Check out this great interview with Zhane What is the story behind the forming of the duo? We were the first artists signed to A Touch of Jazz by Jazzy Jeff. We were students at Temple University. We met Jazzy Jeff because we were students in Philadelphia, and we would enter talent shows to pay our bills. Word got to him that there were these girls at Temple University who could sing. Somebody introduced us to him, and he took us under his wing and formed A Touch of Jazz production company. While we were working with Jazzy Jeff, he was working with Will Smith on their Homebase album, which went platinum. During that time, Will Smith was going back and forth to California because he was pursuing an acting career. So Quincy Jones and Benny Medina were very instrumental in that transition for Will. With the amount of hours that my partner Jean and I spent at the studio, we in turn got to meet Benny Medina. Benny Medina saw us play and sing when we were separate artists, but we were roommates, too. He suggested to us that we should become a group. So we said OK, and thats how we became a group. It was Benny Medinas idea. This happened during a random sighting at a studio. http://www.waxpoetics.com/features/articles/90s-rb-duo-zhane-celebrate-20th-anniversary-pronounced-jah-nay
  4. thanks for the shoutout Jeff! Melbourne show again in 2 weeks!
  5. Not sure how you could sustain an entire TV show with this concept...
  6. Thanks Kev.. I think it's probably time for Skillz to retire from those tours.. Good to hear Dayne is largely letting Jeff do his thing.. my fav emcee with Jeff was actually Pauly Yams he let Jeff do the talking with the records and only jumped on the mic when it was neccessary.. this was back when Jeff used real vinyl and spun for 3 hours!
  7. "I had a blast hanging with the #legends @skillzva and@djjazzyjeff at #drdre #beatsaudio Grammy party. You can tell I'm juiced in this photo #honored #humbled #stoked #hiphop #music #love #aplus #hiero #TBT #throwbackthursday"
  8. Tickets are now available to a lot of the australian shows for the australian fans out there.. Melbourne, December 5th at the Prince Bandroom: http://princebandroom.oztix.com.au/?event=47443 Sydney, December 6th, boat party at Sydney Harbour, only a few tickets remain: http://www.moshtix.com.au/v2/event/the-soda-factory-boat/73487 Perth, December 6th, Cypress Hill & Jazzy Jeff in Perth: http://tickets.oztix.com.au/default.aspx?Event=47365 it's a 6 hour flight from sydney to perth so they are really cramming the shows in to do one in sydney jump on a plane and then do a show in perth on the same day.. not sure if that's best for Jeff & the crew or the fans.. Anyway the melbourne venue is better than last year..better sound.. hopefully jeff gets a good turnout for these shows..
  9. have they had test screenings already? What's been the feedback Rad? I agree with what you are saying..if this isn't a good movie I think Will's time as a box office champ in the US will essentially be over... he did have an amazing run but it's been a long time since he's released a good movie..
  10. the youtube comments on the trailer are crazy! a lot of Will Smith fans have dropped off... It will be interesting to see how this does...
  11. Finally caught up on Vinyl Destination. I Apple TV'ed it to my Sony Bravia. A few observations - It really looks good on TV! Would definitely work as a TV show, I enjoyed it more than watching it on a computer - The proper credit sequence & theme song they have now is dope - Ferno has been the star of season 2, it's been great to see him experience seeing the world for the first time. good guy. - Skillz seems tired, I would to if I've been doing the same thing for the last 10 years but he seems a bit out of the fun - Dropping the reality show talk to the camera stuff makes the episodes flow a lot better - It's a pity they can't show real footage and sound from the actual shows..hearing the crowd respond to Jeff DJ'ing would make a big difference, I guess you can't get good audio out of that situation - Speaking of audio I can't believe how good the audio is for the show, it sounds like everyone is actually mic'ed up - Jeff is pretty damn funny - At the very very end of the proper lube episode you can see me and brakes while we go for a Byron burger. The weird thing is I remember Jeff saying what he said but I can't remember Cris ever filming that..freaky! - I don't know how they go from country to country every day..and deal with losing their baggage all the time.. It's a crazy schedule - It was interesting hearing about Philippines from that guy..thinking they would be forgotten like Katrina, that's pretty much what has happened - Annecy France looked absolutely amazing - I'm looking forward to seeing what they filmed in Australia
  12. Another great beat.. looking forward to hearing the album as a whole.
  13. Jeff had the best view in the house!! Jeff performing with Souls of Mischief is an amazing moment for me.. my 2 fav groups of all time together.. and phesto is saying jazzy jeff on the 1s and 2s..and a-plus giving him a pound.. such a dope performance! I also thought geto boys was incredible! They should release this concert on blu-ray it was so good!
  14. if you love 90s hip hop.. you gotta watch this,.. amazing.. Jazzy Jeff DJ'ing with some of the best hip hop groups from the 90s. All classics
  15. a bit about Peter Landesman (the writer/director) from IMDB: Raised in and around New York, Peter Landesman began his film and TV career after starting as an award-winning painter and novelist, and investigative journalist for the New York Time Magazine, Atlantic Monthly, New Yorker and others. As a journalist, Landesman covered the conflicts in Rwanda, Kosovo and Afghanistan/Pakistan after 9/11. He came to specialize in x-raying the anatomy of trafficking networks that moved sex slaves, weapons, stolen and forged art and antiquities, drugs, refugees. And the intersection of those networks with organized crime here in the U.S. and abroad. Landesman wrote and directed the feature, Parkland, and wrote the feature, Kill the Messenger. He is now writing to direct features for producers Ridley Scott and Scott Stuber, and writing and producing multiple TV projects, including a limited series on the Jewish Wars of 60AD and the Roman siege against the last of the Jewish rebels on the fortress mountaintop of Masada.
  16. So the movie is called Concussion. Filming begins late October for a 3-4 month shoot. It also stars Alec Baldwin and Paul Reiser. The guy who wrote and will direct this is a pretty interesting person. He's spent a lot of time in war torn countries as a journalist.
  17. Another awful idea from Hollywood...
  18. Hitch was released on valentines days.. which was perfect for a romantic comedy... what's the excuse with focus?
