  1. I was shocked about that too. A Touch of Jazz is one of the dopest tracks they ever did..and it really was ahead of its time..the way it mixed jazz with hip hop
  2. Like you updating your signature with 6 photos of you and Jeff together? ;) Poor Jeff! Hah
  3. He had a really hard time answering it at first but then he gave a really good answer. I think people watching will take something away from it. Well done AJ for giving Jeff a tough one! ;) A few other highlights for me was Jeff talking about Code Red. Especially since I love that album but it was obviously difficult to get made. And Mario asked a a fantastic follow up question about Will and Jeff working on another album. I won't spoil anything though because I'm sure you will all enjoy watching it yourselves.
  4. Would have been great to have you there Jim!
  5. Yeah it was a really good afternoon. Nicole, thank Jeff for taking the time to meet us. I know these tours are such a hectic schedule and time off is rare so it's really appreciated. I think the interview turned out really well so big ups to Kev for organising that. When I think back to 10 or 12 years ago I never would have imagined I'd get to hang with brakes, Kev & Julie and see Jeff. We've truly become a little JJFP family and I'll never forget these memories.
  6. Nicole you gotta join one of these tours! At least come to Australia! Kev I'll try and book the same hotel as you when I get back to London tomorrow. Seems the easiest option since it's gonna be a late night.
  7. Wow, that is very late considering it is a work day the next day and trains stop running at 12:00 ... Kev how much did that hotel cost? Nicole do you know the set time for Manchester warehouse project?
  8. Epmd shouted them out on a track
  9. Yeah Jive was probably one of the best hip hop labels of the 90s and they unearthed some great talent. I loved their promotion too.
  10. Thought this was interesting... That was Jive, right? How was your relationship with them? Tajai: Jive was cool. They were very professional. They were always about their business. So when they went from Too $hort, KRS One, Keith Murray and Tribe Called Quest to Britney Spears and The Back Street Boys their outlook on business changed, but it was still business. And we happened to be there during that whole change. A Plus: So they wanted us to be a boy band. They were trying to hook us up with producers who did "Boom Shake The Room" for Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince. Tajai: But none of it was mean spirited. They were just trying to make their money. So we parted ways. They didn't try to keep us or ruin our careers by not letting us go like you see a lot of these rap dudes do to other rappers. It was an amicable split. And, in their defense, they were very forward thinking for a while. I mean look who they had on the roster: KRS One, Tribe... They even signed UGK. Tajai: Exactly. They understood that there was rap outside New York and that it should be promoted on a high level. And they never tried to ruin ouR careers over a difference of opinion. Opio: The fact of the matter is we're here having this conversation because Jive invested money and manpower and created an audience for us and we're forever grateful. http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/2013/09/qa_souls_of_mischief.php?page=2
  11. What time is everyone getting down to London on the 6th? Wondering what time we should meet up.
  12. Oh Wow. Do you know who the promoter is for oz?
  13. I'm definitely going the 6th. A lap gonna do Manchester warehouse project and the second London show I guess. May as well make the most of it while Jeff is here not like he's coming to Australia anytime soon ha!
  14. Will be good to meet Mario, I feel like I know him from all the photos with Jeff Getting on a plane to London tomorrow. See you soon My Peoples!
  15. Yeah Kev don't schedule the interview after the show cause its too hectic and everyone's tired by then.. If you could do it before the show or the next day that would be good. Yep might head up to Manchester for that weekend to catch that preston show.
  16. Really like Avee & 3D.. I thought it was funny jeff was playing as OKC in 2K .. what not playing as the sixers?
  17. shake it off Kev.. lets have some fun!
  18. Yeah he's from the UK but has been living in Miami.. he's actually an awesome DJ.. I've seen him do a couple of shows in Melbourne that have been great.. he's actually doing a european tour same time as Jeff so it worked out perfectly.. here's his remix of butterflies:
  19. Just a few weeks away guys! I got DJ A-Sides coming to the London show with me.. he's one of the world's best drum n bass DJ's and Jeff was a huge influence for him! I was always trying to get him to a show in Miami for WMC but he'd always have like 15 shows on during that week.. gettin excited! I'll be in London in a couple of weeks
  20. Loved the vintage frames section..and it was good to see 3D.. that's good people right there
