  1. Baldwin didn’t consciously know he was going to kill someone, nor was it in anger, nor was it premeditated, nor was it his fault live rounds were being used. Let’s not act like he’s a murderer who sought out a victim, bro. But I agree, people have been allowed to continue careers after far worse, but this isn’t about racism, it’s about the current cancel culture we have in the world, and the fact most instances of worst behaviour doesn’t actually happen Live and in front of millions.
  2. This is the first I’ve known about this… https://fb.watch/cilxoIPARO/ Will appears as himself right at the end of the episode during the birthday messages for Martin.
  3. I thought it was pretty dope. Once you learn to isolate it as it’s own project rather than relaying to the original, it’s actually a really cool dramatic spin. The occasional nod to the original series is excellent too, and a few familiar faces show up at time. Really enjoyed it. Much better than the Saved By the Bell renewal lol
  4. Yeah, people have done far worse than this and still gone on to have successful careers. It’s a very divided opinion wise on the situation as it is.
  5. Maybe I’m naive, but that looks to me like Jada didn’t think it was serious at first either.
  6. I took a minute to process the incident and the night in general before posting on here, it hit home for personal reasons, that I’ll explain, and it also took me a while to try and understand what developed and why. After deliberation, obviously violence is never the answer. It’s inexcusable, but, it’s also understandable based on what has been revealed to us in recent months and years. I saw a broken man, at his breaking point, that’s lived pretty much flawlessly over nearly four decades in the public eye. After reading WILL, it opened my eyes to that lack of acceptance Will has always had, and his strive to ‘put right’ what he got wrong as a kid. Namely, his inaction when his father would abuse his mother, both physically and mentally. I believe this played a part in the spur of the moment decision to act when he felt his wife was attacked. Another thing that came to mind is his obsession to not fail, think back to when Sheree divorced Will, and he refused because ‘I don’t get divorced’. He was willing to stay in a marriage he wasn’t happy in because of his commitment to the decision he made. Fast forward to the ‘Entanglement’ and we have a carbon copy of the fight to save his marriage, that got turned into memes and internet trends, namely of Will crying when emotional speaking of his wife’s affair with someone he’d brought into his home to help. I also believe Will becomes so engrossed in roles that he wants to embody what Richard Williams stands for in terms of defence towards his wife and children, and with them all being women, it’s overlapped into Wills personal life. Not just with Jada and his kids, but with the cast and crew of the movie, also. Now, you’re Will Smith, you’ve made the decision to stand by your wife and forgive her sleeping with another man, almost having the acceptance because she was facing her own demons. I do have my opinion on Jada and what damage she may be causing to Will, but in this instance, you have to take it at face value that he chose to forgive and move on, so we should to. You get to a point when Jada opens up about her autoimmune disease that results in Alopecia, and in her darkest moments dealing with her hair loss, she had suicidal thoughts and intentions, but managed to pluck up the courage to eventually embrace the situation and use it as fuel to encourage other sufferers of the disease. It’s important to remember that it goes much further than just simple vanity. As a husband myself, and being married to a woman that suffers with mental health, namely Agoraphobia, I’ve witnessed the lows that nobody else sees, I’ve witnessed the brave face that everybody else thinks is natural, and I’ve also seen the small innocuous comments, that the majority would brush off, bring her entire world crashing down faster than what seems imaginable. But it happens. Now, put yourself in the shoes of Will, sweeping the awards season, a favourite to achieve his first Oscar, an award he’s been openly chasing for two decades since his first nomination. You’re on top of the world, embracing the moment. This is the best your career could ever be, the pinnacle. Someone then makes a joke in poor taste, about the women you love, on what’s supposed to be the biggest night of your career, and you glance over to your wife and she isn’t impressed. I believe Will unlocked some inner demons he’d buried writing WILL, I believe he’s reeling from being humiliated about the ‘Entanglement’, I believe he’s bitten his tongue on many occasion when the names of his wife and children got dragged through the dirt in front of millions. In that moment, I believe Will thought, it doesn’t matter what I do in my career, I’ll always be that scared little boy that didn’t stop his Mother from getting beat. And he said, no more. As a side note, it’s important to understand what triggers are when it comes to mental health, and what you’re husband may know will be damaging to you, even though it seemed an innocent off the cuff comment. I’m sure Chris Rock was unaware, and Will could have handled in a more calm and well matured manner than resorting to violence, especially as it’s completely overshadowed what was a richly deserved and overdue Oscar victory for what was a phenomenal performance. I congratulate Will on his Oscar win, and I really hope if he is struggling with his life and is overwhelmed by what’s being asked of him, or what he feels is being asked of him, that he seeks the help to recover and get back to being himself. It was difficult to watch someone I’ve admired for so long hit rock bottom on the same night he reached his highest point, but it was also a stark reminder that we expect superhuman actions out of people who are just as human as the people they entertain. Sorry it dragged on LOL
  7. Yeah this was dope. It was great seeing Will in a vulnerable environment. Seems like with this and his book, he’s on a real journey in life right now.
  8. I watched this tonight. All I can say is, if this doesn’t earn Will an Oscar, I doubt anything will. He was phenomenal.
  9. I just finished the book, I put a review in the thread for reviews AJ started. I was blown away with the honestly and surprised at how much I didn’t know. I’m gonna be checking his socials for anything I missed. I work at a race track, it’s seasonal for the most part, a lot of 7 day weeks in the Summer but a lot of downtime in the winter. I’m gonna use the time off to explore and find what I’ve missed.
  10. I just finished the book yesterday - Wow! From the off set you get this overwhelming impression that the guy you see on the screen or hear on a record is a character that masks a very vulnerable individual. The Fresh Prince is a cover up for weakness, it allowed Will to be something he didn’t think he was. I think his love affair with acting started long before his audition in Quincy Jones’ living room. The thing that struck me most as a fan is, I ALWAYS perceived Will EXACTLY how he wanted us to perceive him. Confident, larger than life, charisma in abundance, but knowing the man behind the act, it kind of made me feel guilty as a fan for always wanting more. Great movie, where’s the next album? Great album, where’s the FPOBA reunion? Make BB3 already. 6 months off? Plenty of time for an album. Go on tour again with Jeff. Stop worrying about the kids careers, focus on your own. These are all things we’ve discussed on this forum. After reading the book, I realised that yes, we are fans that keep the ball rolling, but did that demand contribute to the breakdown in his personal life? Ultimately it’s a stigma that stemmed from his upbringing, but we fuelled it in a way that he craved giving us more just as much as we craved getting more. I loved the in-depth stories of the come up in music, how JL became manager, Wills version of the Ready Rock separation, I never knew Jeff had cancer as a kid and developed a recluse mentality (you certainly wouldn’t say that now), I never knew Omarr had an operation as a kid. I loved hearing about the battle scene. I never knew the full status of the Word Up situation and how intense it got. I never realised how dark his past was and the kind of company he kept. The most gangster part of the book is when Mom-Mom made the split second decision to amputate her leg. I never knew this either. The most obvious thing for me was the combination of both parents that Will became. Hard headed like his father, compassionate like his mother, but confused about which side needed to appear in which situation. Willow saved Will from himself, that was glaringly obvious. How a 10 year old with a hit record can break down the biggest star in the world by shaving her head and saying her dads idea of a family wasn’t them, is just inspirational as a parent, to think that through what his failings where, he’d helped raise her into an intelligent young lady. Completely and utterly phenomenal. I couldn’t put it down.
  11. Hey everybody, So it’s been a loooooong time since I frequented the boards, being married and having kids kinds takes it’s toll on a JJFP fan lol how is everybody? I’ve tried my utmost to keep on top of all things JJFP, but I’ve felt my fan ship slipping just with the basic pressures of life. However, I bought Will the book and I’m 15 chapters deep, and it’s rekindled my fandom (what a phenomenal book btw). I’d say I lost touch around Collateral Beauty, I’ve still managed to catch all the movies (I hope) but I’m just wondering what else I could have missed. Since CB, I’ve managed to still catch… Movies - Bright, Aladdin, Gemini Man, Spies in Disguise and BB4L and I know of King Richard and Emancipation. TV - FPOBA Reunion, Cobra Kai 3, Shark Week and Bucket List. I still need to watch Best Shape of My Life, One Strange Rock and Amend. I’ve also heard on Will From Home but don’t know if it’s available anywhere? and I know of Welcome to Earth in December. Music - Joyner Lucas collab, Aladdin songs, Icon remix, Esta Rico, World Cup song and the feature on Logics album and obviously Get Lit (I was in Blackpool). I did a bit of research trying to find what I’d missed and came up with the above list, am I missing anything else? Take care, fam. Stay safe.
  12. I have just read this, however... https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.toofab.com/2020/11/20/janet-hubert-alfonso-ribeiro-fresh-prince-of-bel-air-reunion/ which explains Alfonso was working the day Janet was on set.
  13. Same situation I think. Janet’s attacked Alfonso over the years and vice versa, I think she once referred to him as Wills ‘tampon’, so probably just an escalation of the Will feud.
  14. Alfonso and Janet hate each other, man. I think they’re beyond reconciliation.
  15. Incredible. Uncle Phil tribute, Janet reconciliation, Ross Bagley showing up, it was everything it needed to be. I quite like that it was an intimate setting for the cast, made it feel more like a reunion than a documentary. Loved it. My allergies kept playing up though, which was annoying ;)

  17. Saw it today. It’s dope. Packed with drama, twists, action and hilarious moments. Classic Will.
  18. Took the family to see this today. Good movie the kids will love with some subtle adult humour too. We all enjoyed it. 7.5/10.
  19. Nail on the head. His career buzz wasn’t even highest in the 90s. FPOBA has been appreciated more since it wrapped, 96 is where his career took off. Then he had a flawless, bankable period through 2000-2008, where if his name was attached to a project it went ballistic.
  20. That ‘Bucket List Crap’ was a man who’s dedicated his life to entertain US and YOU, loosening his reigns to do something for HIM. You can’t be mad at that.
