Theres a lot of rumours flying around. Chris got a booty call, so she slapped him numerous times, and he then assaulted her. Chris assaulted her because she gave him herpes. (I'm not making it up, its really a rumour) It's not even 100% confirmed it was Rihanna, as of yet. Hence "allegedly" in the title. Bottom line is, as a man you can restrain a woman, but you do not raise your hand to them in an aggressive manner.

I think you're being naive, dude took a banned substance in an attempt to make his game better, he's not the victim or hero in the story.

The sport should hurt for this, whats the point in having a drugs test if the results are kept secret until 6-8 years later. The point of the drugs test is to dwindle out the "cheaters". Not let them get away with it until the press catch wind of the results. He still has been and will be a great player, but his legacy is partially tainted by this, much like Barry Bonds' is.

Nothing bad has happened to A-Rod, he took performance enhancing drugs, and got caught. If he didn't take the drugs, he wouldn't have got caught. His own fault.
