Well, if you only want to hear positive opinions about the movie you'll know. That doesn't mean negative opinions are far from the truth. Let's remember we're all WS fans here. I agree, we can't turn away opinions just because they are negative towards something. And it's not like anyone else on here hasn't been negative towards WS about other material. After all an opinion can't be wrong, it's just a matter of explaining you're opinion rather than just generalising it. Now Ale has given valid reasons as to why he didn't like I, Robot or not, I see no problem. He's allowed to not like it, even if I don't agree
-
Some valid points made there, none I agree with but valid all the same. You do realise that you are being selective with that comment and only using it because it benefits you right now in trying to have a dig at our movie knowledge. Because in reality, the people you throw in our face as being knowledgeable now, are the same people that you wouldn't listen to if they criticised a movie you liked. Plus, these are probably the same people who criticised WWW and BaggerVance (which was good). Both movies that you liked better than I, Robot. Hardly consistent.
-
Unless of course it's about lack of music, then displeasure is a necessity I'm all for people having their own opinion, and I'm happy Ale (couldn't you have used MIW here as well? ) is expressing his opinion. I just don't think he has expressed what Max was looking for when he made this topic. That's my opinion on his opinion, if ya catch my drift.
-
It's not about convincing anyone it was bad. It's about someone who doesn't like the movie being able to give valid specifics to back up their opinion. For whatever reason, you haven't really done that yet. And the few that you did state we're easily explainable and to me, can't be considered as plot holes, because they just took some understanding. And as for this: "just forget we are talking about WS and judge it objectively!" If that was the case, then surely I'd like everything Will has done, which is far from the truth!
-
The way I see it is, if someone can't give valid reasons for their opinion. It's probably not a valued opinion!

The Robert Neville you was waiting for, which tells me you was waiting for the same character from the book. Which also tells me that you wanted Will to depict the Del Spooner from the I, Robot book, which means that the book played a part of your dislike of the movie. Because you knew what Del was like originally (book), you could see the differences. For someone who sees the movie first, the way Will acted was Del Spooner.

It's my favourite WS movie. It's complete in my opinion. Great cast, great crew, good on screen chemistry between characters, interesting story line and general good performances from every cast member. I find the only people that didn't like it are the people who have read the book and can't look past the fact that the movie was only "based" on the book, and wasn't a word for word following of it. It was a great movie. Will has given his best performances in Ali, POH and IAL and I like I, Robot more because it was a great complete movie, rather than a great Will performance in an ok film.

How is mentioning Hitler disgusting? Having you're words about Hitler taken out of context by naive people who can't comprehend a quote is what is disgusting about this situation. People shouldn't have to stray away from difficult subjects, just so they don't get ridiculed because other people haven't understood what they said.

Epilogue (04:13) Release Date: January 15th 2008 IMDB.com has it rumoured that Will was gonna be on the soundtrack, singing I Shot The Sheriff. Considering how he sung it in the movie and that if it was on a soundtrack it probably would have been that part, but how funny would it have been if it was fresh recording http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480249/soundtrack

Merry Christmas Y'all

I don't think he's retracting his original statement, I think he's pissed off at how people have wrongly understood what he was saying. And, honestly, it really wasn't all that difficult to understand.
-
Will needs to take back nothing. It's an opinion and he expressed it... people need to deal!
-
I really do fail to see what's confusing. Hitler's mind told him what he was doing was right, I don't see how I can put it any clearer.
-
No, I think he thought they were good.
-
You've taken this whole topic out of context. If Hitler thinking it was good isn't a reasonable explanation to you, that's fair enough, but at the end of the day, it's the truth, he thought he was doing good, we know he wasn't, case in point, no-one has said he was a good person. Realise that and this conversation will be a lot easier to comprehend.
-
No-one hear thinks his intentions we're good, Hitler did.
-
What you're not understanding is, no-one is denying Hitler as a bad/evil man. We all agree with your points and facts about him, you don't need to keep dropping different scenarios, because we agree he was evil. It's simply being said that he himself, didn't see his actions as wrong. All these scenarios are pointless because they don't solve the problem in this discussion, the problem is, whatever Hitler may have done, sick as it was, and yes we agree it was sick, Hitler thought he was doing good. It would be exactly the same, again, no-one is saying Hitler was a good man, we're just saying in his mind, he thought his actions we're justified. I'm getting bored of saying that
-
1, I can write what I want. 2, no it wouldn't make you a good person. But if you saw nothing wrong with you're actions you'd think you we're doing good. You are seriously completely missing the point. No-one is saying what Hitler did was good, all that's being said is Hitler thought it was good. I like you and most other people, am disgusted by what Hitler did, but he didn't see a problem with his actions.
-
No, it doesn't make you a good person to everyone else, but if you believed it was right. Then you'd perceive yourself as good. That's the whole point.
