  1. Wait a minute?!?! U mean the album won't come out until June now?
  2. I don't think this is a good move. I'm amazed that Quincy asked JD. Plus it looks like all hip hop, and I don't think that's fair. They can add a few other genres in there.
  3. I heard about it, but I never got a chance to watch it.
  4. I said the DVD. I'm not looking foward to the CD or movie too much cuz the album feels like it will never come. And Will's movie career needs a break. U know his heart is in music.
  5. When I 1st read this, I thought this was a parody song of "Girls Aint.." I didn't know JJFP did a song like this. I bet MC Lyte would do a song like that justice.
  6. Come on Hero1. U heard Switch. I don't they'll affiliate that song wit the movie.
  7. NaS - War feat. Keon Bryce. I'll never get tired of this track. Hey AJ, for a second, I thought that was gonna be this guy on soundclick named. LMNtrik. He's pretty good. I got his song "Fall Again". Maybe check him out if U get a chance.
  8. Em's not even lyrical anymore Brakes. Even Dr. Suess could battle Em and beat him.
  9. Well, I got the album, and it is OFF DA HOOK. Nas will never capture Illmatic again, but that's fine with me. I think Street's Disciple is his next best album to Illmatic. My favorite track on Disc 1 is "Just A Moment" feat. Quan. The guy's from VA. I can hear that significant sound in him like Petey Pablo. Well, Petey when his 1st album came out. Nas only has one verse tho. Not so much of a down side becuz he let Quan get known. And Quan's the next best thing in Hip Hop that we're gonna hear. They talk about those in jail, those they lost, struggle, etc. I loved how Nas opened his wit "And can we have another moment of silence.../ For brothers who died from black-on-black violence/" My favorite track on Disc 2 is "War" feat. Keon Bryce. Nas talks about his early life with his new born daughter, ex-girl, and coming up in the streets. It's a real easy going track. It's almost got an oldies/old school rap feel to it. "Nazareth Savage" has a prided old school vibe to it during the breaks, and new school in his verses. "American Way" has his wife Kelis. Great sample used and the lyrics are dope. "Coon Picnic" (These Are Our Heros) is another great. I read how MTV talked about it. Nas said he might put it on radio if he thinks they can handle it. He gets at a couple. The WB's tv series, Kobe, OJ, etc. "Rest of My Life" - I liked this vibe. It was kinda something U don't hear too often. Plus it was done well. "Street's Disciple" - it features his father Olu Dara. He brings an oldy chorus. Nas basically speaks how growing up in QB was for him. "U.B.R." (Unauthorized Biography of Rakim) - the beat is real cool. As far as the history of Rakim, he covered it fairly well. He throws mentions of Run DMC, EPMC, Kurtis Blow. And he ends it with saying "Next book, KRS-One." "Virgo" feat. Ludacris & Doug E. Fresh - this track is actually pretty nice. Ludacris does pretty good on this one. A great Beat Box Rock song. I bet that other rappers will make 'astrology' songs. Of course remember Outkast did it by mixing the two. "Remember The Times" - this one is real cool. Nas takes it back to his 'playa playa'. Nice slow joint. "The Makings of A Perfect B****" - I actually liked this one. He goes into great definition wit this song. "No One Else In The Room" feat. Maxwell - I really liked this one. This is a good dance track. "Me & You" (Dedicated To Destiny) - Nas did his own. He kinda sings thru this one. Like I said, for what Nas is, this is his 2nd best, if U can even compare the two (Street's Disciple and Illmatic). It's hard for me to pick which disc I like better. I just simply can't. The bonus tracks "You Know My Style" and "Thief's Theme" are cool as well. Both take U back. "..Style" does it beat wise wit a sample from Run DMC "Jam MAster Jay". Thief's does it in a lyrical sense. Street's Disciple has a lot of samples. If U really love em, U should check out the original songs. The case is kinda different from the usual 2 Disc sets. U'll also get a poster. One side is the album cover. I know some said they didn't care for it. But I understand it. All those guys R actually Nas. I guess in different phases of his career. The poster shows it better. The other side is gray-scaled. He's up against a graffiti wall wit his arms spread like a skeleton diagram. I liked that one better than the album cover. Don't get me wrong, every track is cool. But I'm a natural fan of Nas. I can see him being the one after LL to last with success. If U wanna preview the album before U buy, go ahead and do it, but I bet U'll end up getting it after U hear em.
  10. If Em was gonna make funny of 80s icons, he should have keep it in the 80s. Michael Jackson didn't have molestation accusations until '93.
  11. Hey bigted, I didn't find those three songs in 1990. Particularly the Public Enemy ones. I mean exactly 1990.
  12. I've only really performed one good time rapping. Just practice, and visualize the reaction U want from the people. And a clear head. Don't let nonsense get in it. That's all I can really tell ya.
  13. NaS feat. Keon Bryce - War (this is my favorite track on disc 2 of Street's Disciple)
  14. Hey Mimi chill. Anyway y'all, I won't have the full full songs on it. Some will be mixed down and everything. Maybe use acapellas and beats together from 1990. I just want as much material as I can put on one cd. And trust me Jim, I can get every year to be covered.
  15. Hey brakes. I'm checkin it out. It's real good. I'm feelin it. Definite hit, if the right lyrics R behind it. btw, I just thought of it, is that a Freddie Jackson voice sample?
  16. Yeah. I could do that. There's already 3 on it. Survive My Suicide (Remix) feat. Ashanti Why'd U Become A B**** Teenager I'd probably put up "Bad Habits" and "Feelins 4 Villains".
  17. NaS - Coon Picnic (These Are Our Heroes)
  18. Yeah I like so Craig David tracks. Mostly the singles he put out. I never heard anything else from his album(s). NaS - American Way feat. Kelis I finally got his album. It ain't no Illmatic like they said. Some tracks might be, but he takes on a Worldly stance wit his lyrics.
  19. Those R 1990?!?. I never thought that. That's real cool. 2 of my fav joints to hear from the early LL.
  20. Hey y'all. I need some help wit these mix CDs I'm going to make. I wanna start with 1990. The Hip Hop Side. Here's all I got so far. 1. Humpty Dance - Digital Underground 2. Can't TOuch This - MC Hammer 3. Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice 4. Power - Snap 5. Things That Make You Hmm! - C+C Music Factory I'd appreciate an honest made list. List that has everyone's favorites. SOngs U know everyone has heard. Maybe even a lil Underground.
  21. Wait a minute. U mean Nelly, Em and Jay-Z, etc, R actually Grammy material? Remember the time when rap wasn't even considered in the grammys. JJFP won it for the hip hop legacy. And every artist known was at that rally. How many artists of today could be like that?
