Seems like Alfonso's situation is similar to Jamie Foxx's. Foxx did an album that nobody really knew about and look at him today. Maybe Alfonso can see similar fate.

Lupe Fiasco's "Food & Liquor" Debuts #1 On Rap Album Chart
mfuqua23 replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
What makes Lupe Fiasco a bad rapper? -
It sounds like you've got the flow down, so now your next opposition is to vary your emotions when rapping. Continue to find your style and run with it. I'm steady doing that myself. Lyrics wise, hmm. Can you post them? Since I have dial up, I only got bit by bit. Sounded ok nonetheless.

Michael Jordan is the best player ever, period? HE's done it all at some point or another. He said "I'll leave the game when I have nothing more to prove." Now why he came back to play for the Wizards is beyond me? I never kept up with Jordan after '98. It's definitely one of the best ever if not THE BEST. He did it all. Scoring, dunking, defensive, passing, championships, game winning shots. And he lost/failed in the process of accomplishing all this. Somebody on this forum has him quoted. Typhoon also brought out some nice points. Matter of fact, just the other day, I was watching "Michael Jordan's Playground". The video was in 1991. It's been a while since I watched the whole thing. Came remember if the Bulls first championship was showcased as well. I don't think it was. But in this video, everything was discussed and points were brought up, FROM GUYS JORDAN PLAYED AGAINST. I forget who said it, but he was like "Everybody talks about Magic Johnson's passing ability, and Larry Bird's passing ability, but they forget Michael's passsing abilities." They even discussed Michael Jordan and Dominque Wilkins. Not as only as dunking showcase, but also playing each other. Isiah Thomas was all smiles when he talked about them. He said "They're not trying to hurt each other, but they're playing hard against each other." Maybe MJ was exploited quite a bit. Do videos of any other players come out? Even of the overhyped ones? The videos are from CBS/FOX video sports. Find out if they had a bigger repitoire. I know there's one on Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Even if Michael Jordan isn't the greatest to everybody, which he's shouldn't and won't be, he's definitely a favorite. btw, if you check out his links, there is a site dedicated to "Anti-Bulls" and such. So he is a Jordan Hater.

DMX and Ja Rule squash their long standing beef
mfuqua23 replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Beefing is weak? Now Ted, how are you going to say that? KRS-One would say different don't you think? Obviously times have changed, some for the worst; some for the better. But groundwork has been laid by battles/beefs. -
Ludacris's albums always impressed me. He was an attractive Dirty South talent in the early going. He's changed up a lil bit but has been up to par. He did say this was a more in depth album on who he was, knowing him as Chris Bridges and not Ludacris. He's going to need another single before sales should probably kick in, because "Money Maker" isn't drawing in like he's previous ones I think.

DMX and Ja Rule squash their long standing beef
mfuqua23 replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think this is totally irrelevant news. It's nothing for them to publically go on about. But it's nice news to hear I guess. Def one of the more legit modern day rap beefs. -
I know exactly what went on. I mean the pieces are right there. His friend/publicist was in panic and like he said 'made her best judgement call'. She said 35 pills were missing, assuming he might have taken them. So it's no wonder where her head went in the mist of the whole thing last night. She called 911 and the Fire Dept. was the first ones. And they in turn called the Police Dept, I guess telling police the same thing Owen's publicist told them. So that's where that little mishap came about. When I was watching ESPN, reporters was wondering why police got involved. My guess is for protection purposes or something, but who knows. With all that was going on, I agreed with one of the ESPN The Magazine guys that said, he's waiting for T.O. to tell the story because he always delivers the truth whether people like it or not. I'm not much of a football fan in any way, but it was a drawing ordeal. I wouldn't have heard a word about T.O. if my dad hadn't asked me about it. I'm relieve for T.O., considering what could've happened. One person who I'm looking foward to hearing talk about this whole incident a little is Stephen A. Smith on 'Quite Frankly'. Plus, I'm thinking there might be a bigger picture to this. Like Barry Bonds and others in baseball with the alleged steriods abuse, what's up with T.O. and other athletes on supplements? I know the ones T.O. was takin' was natural but still I don't quite get it. Like he told reporters "I take too many to list" (paraphrasing a lil). I don't know too much about supplements but I guess they aren't dangerous, at least anywhere near steroids. This whole incident with T.O. goes towards being careful with what you're taking.

Hi-Tek feat. Talib Kweli and Ayak - Can We Go Back To That Nice insight into the next Reflection Eternal. Tek said it's comin.

There is quite a selection for Hip Hop's history in some way or another. They're only going to "honor" so many people/things each year. I think JJFP will get their due maybe 2008. That's 20 years after "He's The DJ...". VH1 plays little hip hop. I wonder if they even get much hip hop submitted to them or asked of. They could include The Roots, Talib Kweli, etc.

We might as well forget the audio battle cuz it ain't gonna happen. Brakes don't need to run it. Let him move on with his career. He's doing a fair job in gettting better in getting out.

Da Brakes - The DJ Track Ludacris said his latest album was supposed to go more towards his "Chris Bridges" essence. I think all his albums are pretty well put together, considering where he froms and his lyrical play and diction.

Nas always seems to have a "Christmas" type release. I'm not complaining about the release date but what's been done is kinda you know. But if they came to an agreement about releasing each others albums on different days, it's okay. Reason cuz next thing you know, it's Nas VS Jay-Z 2 indirectly with album sales. And if Jay-Z is releasing on Nov. 21st, why haven't we seen site of a single? I thought he was a hustler. I'm asking, *coughs* excuse me, asxing bout him. And Meth, aw man. That'd be wrong. Come on, Method Man is not a commercial type emcee. He just does his music and if people get down and feel it, they do. I actually liked his single "Say" w/ Lauryn Hill when I heard it on Nick Cannon's Wild n Out. What has happened to the Def Jam legacy? I know's it's adjusting with the times, but this is too much. Def Jam is like a root in Hip Hop's history timeline. If it goes out, what an ugly turn. Nas stopped, Method Man dropped, LL Cool J flopped, and Jay-Z the man on top. Wow!

I seen his video "I Gotcha" today, and honestly I thought it was cool. It was something different and had sorta a JJFP colors feel to it.

I'd say Rakim or LL. Probably Rakim. But it would be so cool to have a remix that included all the emcees Will mentioned in the song.
