  1. Chamillionaire - In The Trunk He's doin' the dirty south justice. Pretty nice lyrically.
  2. I'm not big on battling. I've come a long way since writing lyrics a few years ago, and when I entered that team battle with Ted, and nearly won getting to the finals, it was a nice lift of encouragement. And besides, we haven't had much battles.
  3. Thinking about this even more, why should LL rush out another album? It's just not necessary. He should just pack up his material and do his last album somewhere else. But then again, it might be that "Def Jam" legacy he's tryna uphold. One artist who has a career for so long at one label and managed to stay a moderate success. If LL is in such a hurry to work with one artist/producer, he should let Rick Rubin and whoever else produced his very very 1st album. That would truly be Back To Cool.
  4. I think regardless what the rules will be, I'll still freestyle just to make it as real as possible for me personally.
  5. You know I was wondering with this being audio battles now, does this mean we can have legit "freestyles"? Because really, anybody can win in those per sa. Some days you got it, some days you don't. Anyway, I'm still thinking about being in this.
  6. This is veyr top-notch. I was seriously feelin' every line. The chorus was well put together. I guess it's safe to say you found some inspiration huh? I really really liked this song.
  7. yeah... i could put up some of your quotes from the first page of this topic where you were criticizing LL but i'll spare you the embarassment. i guess you changed your mind? Why ask? Ted is the kinda guy to edit all of his strong mind, opinionated posts. But on the real, this is really a mind-boggling topic if you really think about it. I remember when I was hyped up when The Game came out, and Tim poked fun at me, and Ted thought I had "good taste" in music and was gonna peep him. Game has lost some of his luster with me. I really don't think he's gonna be the kinda artist who can hold down a career. He was just the Big Dog when he came out. He'll go wherever he can get money. Music, movies, playin in the ABA (i guess he's still doin that), sellin his own shoes, etc. Resurrecting the West? I really don't know about that anymore. His debut album seemed kinda effortless compared to his mixtape efforts, freestyles, and such.
  8. Fight the Power Turntable!!! What's the worst thing, if LL's "Back To Cool" album marks another "comeback" and sells multi-plat. And 50 Cent is only featured on one song if anything? LL's obviously not going to feel like he did in '85. There shouldn't be an excuse of "well, it's 2006-7 now". Those who listen to this new LL album just might have that feelin' that once existed during his top notch releases. Sometimes, I wonder about the whole Def Jam ordeal. LL only stayed signed because they owed him. LL remained at the very least, an ok artist who was still going. Jay-Z is the "president" of Def Jam, but I'm not quite sure if he understands what that entails. Def Jam is a legacy in it of itself. Even if Def Jam puts out and still gets ignored, it's probably not the worst, if the quality of material and artists is good. The south is runnin' game right now in Hip Hop. So who knows what this is gonna do. As far as claiming something wack without listening to it, people are entitled to their opinion. For example, I would never listen to a Paul Wall album. Sure I've heard some of his material, but no longer than a minute in my ear. I just don't like him, his image, style, rap, whatever. Who have I never listened to and feel I can claim them wack? In all honesty, that's very hard to do, so in short, I just never heard of them, and am thinking NOTHING of them. My taste goes wide on artists. Maybe I like them for one song, one album, one point in their career, or everything they've done. I really don't see what good LL can gain from this, based on what everybody here has said. If he sells alot, and it really is a good cd, it's a bad look and shock becuz 50 Cent's name is imprinted. If it's ignored due to that imprint, it's no good. If people aren't interest in LL anymore. If 50 manipulates LL to the lowest point in his career. I mean who's to say that if 50 does this purposely just to take LL out the game. Or even is an accident, 50 won't care. One less rapper he's gotta worry about. Whatever happens, this just isn't gonna look good, because 50's not looking to mature and prove people wrong that there is more to him than meets the eye. LL has just struck down. I'm sorry to say it, but that's the way it looks.
  9. Here's what I don't understand. The "King of VA" says 'I don't battle, I go to war', and yet you ask your enemy, "how should I release my ammo?" Whether this is all in good forum fun entertainment or seriously knocking heads, you would think those who've battled before us would set example.
  10. I could hardly peep it myself with dial-up. It was a second-in, a second-out. So I gave up. Hopefully, when it's in achives, we'll be able to play/download. Kel definitely sounded top notch.
  11. There's no guarantee in the way that we're looking at this is right. I personally didn't like the "Todd Smith" album. Maybe a track here and there, but that was it. I didn't feel "The DEFinition" too much either. But it was fair. The atmosphere of the rap game has just seemed to screwed with a lot of heads. Maybe LL sees something in 50 Cent that we don't and haven't. JMJ did. I just don't know. When you look at 50's career sheet of moves, and LL's career sheet of moves, not to mention their life stories, it just causes a nix bad things.

  14. I liked em. They were cool and everything, but it's kinda hard to more or less "criticize" something that somebody put feeling into like that. Point blank, you just wrote down how you feel with this one.
  15. Thanks for posting. Sometimes I just don't get these artists. I try to, but... anyway, SP is decent.
  16. Dang Turntable. Thanks for even sharing that. As far as the friendship and if it's there anymore, if you don't call, you'll never know. Plus your not exactly helping the answer of your own question. she may think the friendship is gone from your side as well. You obviously know better than I do what's happened between the two of you, so you need to figure out what's worth it.
  17. I recently got Neyo's album, and after learning that he loves writing and listening to him, that got me going to write. I thought this would be nice to share. June 29, 2006 (3:55 p.m. - 4:43 p.m.) "Penwomanship" ---------------------------------- Her words are like the millions of stars I want to see The blue lines are skylines that I follow and read She's like a love I can't help but enjoy feeling I want her like a height Raise up til I level off right She's got unprecedent skills when she writes She creates a world all her own when she writes Words have much power, covert them to actions Sensual kisses from her lips would be great satisfaction It's hard to imagine, because of distance But make it happen easy if I stay persistent I don't give a damn if she's been discriminated I still want her, and would fight to keep her creations I call what she's got "Penwomanship" and appreciate it like the whole world did but I'm only one, and hope that's good enough She exists in a city where there's trends and legends and has a heart open for a man Drop a catch-eye word, like urban, hood, love, together It wouldn't be hard for me to express myself We'd get to know, and keep in our minds well Share a closeness and write together, talk together, listen together, walk together smile together, watch each other I just gotta get it out Every beat that's slow and holding my ears is connecting with my heart Every note that's sung by this new artist of the year is connecting with my mind It gets me thinking about you even after I innocently put you aside I can't lie, I'm not gonna stop this vibe only you can do that, and make me die on the inside I'd love to love you, I'd like to hate you only to love you better connecting back with you What does that do? that puts love in life and life in love, with this poem you're the only one I'm thinking of Sign off and appreciate your "Penwomanship"
  18. Ne-Yo - You Ain't Gotta Go I guess that's what the song is actually called. Safe to say this is one of my fav. joints on his album.
  19. I think this was obvious after he showed up on the BET awards. That was unexpected.
  20. What is Cold Stone exactly?
  21. My radio station 106.7 WAMO. OMG, they are playing ol' school, such as Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, MC Shan, etc.. They never play anything good. They're celebrating summer jam.
