  1. Between those two, both are a big deal. If the person(s) sell 9 million and change a culture but in a negativity way, that's a questionable proposition. Sometimes, changing a culture isn't always a good thing, nor needs to be. I doubt I'd do either, but I'd like to righteously change a culture if need be. I don't think I'm the type of person for it though. It's something about making music, that I almost can't explain it at this point. 50 Cent's millions sold effect seems to have been only for the moment to put money in his pocket. 50 isn't even running things right now. It's the "Dirty Souf" right now.
  2. Kel Spencer - Premo Freestyle Oh my word!!! Kel Spencer is too good to be at the level he's at. Un-freakin-believeable.
  3. Like rhyming within a line, for example Rakim's "I Ain't No Joke" "I ain't no joke, I used to let the mic smoke/"
  4. Welcome to the board. you should enjoy yourself here.
  5. Ah, I love that soundtrack. Movie's great too.
  6. It was decently written. I imagine your just starting out? Just explore writting. Maybe try to input some multi-rhymes.
  7. I remember seeing this before in a VIBE magazine when their last album was coming out, but not to this extent. I seriously doubt it's meant to be a "gimmick". It wouldn't surprise me if they're gonna go separate ways. Hip Hop needs them now more than ever? Really? 2001 wasn't bad enough? (Stankonia came out that year right?) 2004 wasn't bad enough? (The Love Below came out?) 2006/7 is? Outkast and T.I. are perhaps the only legit southern hopefuls.
  8. J Dilla - Fall In Love (Remix Instrumental)
  9. He'll be a bigger person if he admits to it on this album.
  10. I'm all for Nas, but I kinda question the title of this release. I imagine that's what it's suppose to do. Hip Hop is dead? I understand where Nas is coming from, and that's just it. Where he's coming from. Hopefully, it opens up the obvious eyes and ears of certain people. For some reason, I doubt this title will stick.
  11. I'd definitely would like to see the different aspect of all these artists in this film.
  12. I'd say that's a mix of the Swedish Carlton + Will Lerk. For a second, I thought those socks + sandals where actually some kind of cast.
  13. Hopefully, my brother has this one with all those cds he's been talking about.
  14. Wow. That's really good to hear Schnazz.
  15. Jagged Edge - Good Luck Charm (Instrumental)
  16. But what exactly constitutes "Real" Hip Hop? Aren't there people saying Hip Hop's whole purpose was underground and something for the communities? Then it got commercial and widespread. I don't think hip hop is "party music" now. It's now generally bad "club music". But that's just from a mainstream point of view. Who was the last legitimate artist that pretty much everybody could have mutual respect for and they dominant the chart, airwaves, etc.?
  17. I'm just curious to know if he made this album or even some songs because of Jessica Simpson.
  18. Gnarls Barkley is a group? I thought it was some dude from the UK. His video debuted on BET one day and Julissa was like "Don't you guys wanna have something different on the countdown?" and the audience was darn near silent. I really liked the song and the video. I had no idea that's who it was, and it was a group.
  19. I definitely agree with TopDawg on this one. If anything, she's not exposed to the Hip Hop she'd more than likely support in this day and age. Will would've been perfect on Oprah for his "Tell Me Why" release. (but that never happened)Dave Chappelle would've been good being back on and talking about his Block Party movie (which featured a mass of quality music) That's one of the many things that's cool about Dave. It really was "Chappelle's Show", and he did what he wanted, said what he wanted, put who he wanted on the show. How often out of Oprah's day does she think about Hip Hop? Probably not enough to search online for something she won't see on tv. She just doesn't know, I think. And even if she didn't like Hip Hop, what would be wrong with that? She can maybe rightfully say "I don't like Hip Hop nowadays." And there is an audience out there who would understand her point.
  20. I know what you mean AJ. Especially after I listen to ATCQ recently. I find myself going back in time anyway. There's no flow free groups. Hip Hop will change soon enough. Somebody's gotta seriously kick in the door.
  21. Very good use of words there Tim. And a good grasping story. "the cover up shut everyone up, but the real hurt dug into his core for years" - I thought this line was attractive when I read it. "he brought joy to them all, but that was his greatest downfall"- For those taken advantage of, I can certainly relate.
