  1. Hi-Tek feat. Piakhan and Big Del - No One Knows Her Name
  2. I'm definitely watchin' them. I'd like to see UCLA and George Mason in the finals. It's a shame the college b-ball season is gonna end. It's such an amazing thing to me.
  3. LL Cool J feat. Freeway - Whatcha Want
  4. "Im still young tryin to grow up and got big dreams// One day my name will sound in the mouth of all human beins//" - I like the envisioning of that "Now I put the rap game first in my list// Im still dreamin wit my 1st hit, dats why I persist//" - nice eye openin' ending This would be nice as an underground hit to bring you on the rise.
  5. Lupe Fiasco - Kick Push (Instrumental)
  6. I just saw his video "Kick Push" earlier today. It's a very very cool video. It's got that 90s grim color video we used to have. I loved the beat and lyrics. Simple, yet intelligent. I thought it gave skateboarding a wider appeal. Plus he's not appearing as the typical rapper. He's sportin' glasses (and they're reading ones). I'll definitely keep up with this dude.
  7. Since this is a legit Kel Spencer topic, I was wonderin' if any "The Season" tracks by Kel has been put out, becuz they sound really good. I think he changes the lyrics for each show pertaining to the team.
  8. I got this song already, off DJ Absolut's MJ Moves back in like 2002, but it wasn't the whole song. Very nice jam.
  9. Talib Kweli and Dante (from Mood) - 89.1 WNYU Freestyle
  10. I think the ultimate would be for everyone who ever "beef'd" with one another on record and more, should collab on tracks and it be one big compliation on Hip Hop's Battle History.
  11. I really don't think this is going to do anything. At least it's intended purpose. "kids" won't understand.
  12. Talib Kweli feat. John Legend - Around My Way
  13. Little Brother "Whatever You Say" (GTS Remix) - Very nice remix. It's a good mellow vibe. Kev Brown "Always" (GTS Remix) - I never heard of this guy. It's sounds a lil like a tougher persona Will Smith. This one was nice too. Both the tracks would be good on a mellow rap mix cd. Your beats are definately getting better. I think these are top notch. Hopefully your production spreads to where you want it to.
  14. Hmm. That's a nice lil stat. While we're on the subject of PS, did y'all know Hoopz (from Flavor of Love), aka Nikki, was in the PS video. Said so on her "website" - http://www.mydarlingnikki.com (btw, I seen this chick like a few years before FoL) Interesting.
  15. Are you sure? I think you transposed a 0 in there or something. And as far as Will's "bad" stuff, I'd like to hear just how bad it really is.
  16. Actually Muslims are of various decents. I never would've known that, had I not seen the movie X (that Malcolm X movie by Spike Lee)
  17. Y'all are a bunch of empty brains// Witout education and culture u just survive and no gains// Even u cant give a good opinion in any subject// So when a big opportunity knocks ur door, u leave dat project// "But stop, drop and come into the era of rock n roll // No more welfare and no more heat, takes it toll // But the police just want us to snitch, and be a bitch// Tell us a name we will promise u to get so rich // That's the decision, time to stand up, have a voice// Rich or poor what's good anymore? U have a choice // Instead of being in a democracy run by dictators // Who run around using god's name as creaters //" These lines captivated may attention. These can have an addictive flow if done right. I'd have to say Joe, that's like the best verse to date that I've read/rapped of yours. Luigie, the progression is definately there, and the use of relevance in your own experiences will be easier and quicker to express. It's a fairly deep song. Nice collab fellas.
  18. Nas - Memory Lane (Sittin' In Da Park) (Illmatic-1994)
  19. Good general story telling rhyme. Will this be contributed to the PHH mixtape? btw, what happened to that beats page of that one guy? I'm gonna try to whip up beat for another track Lerk.
  20. I haven't posted any rhymes for while, or in general for that matter. I finally got back in the groove of writing. March 29, 2006 (9:43 p.m. - 10:07 p.m.) © 2006 I'm tryna figure, how I'm a mass to reach the margin Bein' a poor college student, makes me want the knowledge pardoned but it can't be, in a society based on status levels Rich lifestyles for the greedy, poverty for the rebels and those that shake off regulations of America's legion Go to sleep to find dreams and, it's a nightmare ya receivin' It took awhile to see the dividends between me and my friends Learn stuff everyday, and my mind expands Not all good, but not all bad either Can't protect me from this world with rubbers like when you love her or at the bottom of ya sneakers I'm a high set goal achiver, but couldn't tell you if I reach 'em cuz there's never a satisfaction, I know I won't see one I'm receivin' AES letters, loaners that won't let me forget 'em but little to their care and knowledge, I always stress 'em Wonder where my next bit of cash is comin' from It's like I'm hopin' for two, but I'm shootin' the one and one Sat the bench all year, knew I had some, but feelin that I got no skills Buggin' by my teammates, but they don't know that words can still kill On the real, I need to take this chance standin' instead of losin' to this standard of life that's got me for ransom
  21. "For I believe a life without fear is total chaos and depravity" - That is true and a line like this stands in the annuals of time. Seems like a common comparison, but I don't think people understand why it is. A negative for positive. "dilapidated" - One word I have to look up. "Because being a writer with no outlet is not good for my mental health" - Extremely true for me. I have had crazy urges to write lately and can't do it, cuz it's so much pressure on what to say 1st. Wise Idea? Rightfully so, it is. Very cool poem.
  22. Give up rapping? Hmm. Just try to find your flow. Study other artists. Imitate them at first, then maybe inject your own style or mix it up. We're only going to get so different. "And I love my voice. So sweet." - Lerkot. I wish I could say the same thing. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. I'll be honest. If rapping isn't your thing, then it just isn't your thing, no matter how much you admire it. Had I not found useful and meaningful reasoning as to why I rap, I probably wouldn't be doing it anymore. If you do give it up, and then one day, you just can't help it and go right back to it, obviously it's something you enjoy, even if it's not quite to your liking just yet. Now, if your talking about giving up because you're not a rising superstar, RE-think everything. There may be something your not realizing. Once you do, analyze and understand, maybe adjust.
  23. Ok, thanks. I read it a good 3 times. It has everything I've ever thought or said sometime in my life. I was feelin lousy creatively too. This poem got me back in the mood, and I now I feel like I can say whatever no problem.
  24. I remember I saw on Oprah she did same. I'm glad you posted this, cuz I totally forgot. I really do wanna see this.
