Hey WillisIll, I was that way when i 1st rapped. I didn't think my voice sounded right. But it's best to be your own and not sound like anything or body else. Once that sticks, U'll find your comfort zone. btw, I have made a beat. 5:08 of someting that just might be your taste.

Rate this freestyle#2 (unfinished) 1-10
mfuqua23 replied to markwinfield1's topic in Caught in the Middle
How can this be a freestyle if it's unfinished? A freestyle is just going, and once U stop, that's it. U need to separate ya lines so they're readable. -
That's great. Proof that the streets truly does got the 4-1-1.

Talib Kweli Plans To Sign Rakim To Label!
mfuqua23 replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Actually, I read that even if Rakim were to sign to some other label, he'd still want Dre to produce a beat or two for him. Maybe that's thought changed, but who knows. This is some great news. Hopefully, it goes into full effect. -
Digable Planets - Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)

Who isn't in it for the money now? Nobody's saying "I got a talent that no one else had that can make money." Now it's just "I'm gonna make money this way." yet have no 'talent'. LL wanted the girls and chains, yet he had a talent that no one else had ever seen. He exploded on the mic wit style. Nobody even does that today. Guys like Mike Jones, 50 Cent, etc. will yell on the mic and without style. U can't understand 'em. The Style of Materialism has changed, not the attitude of it. From 'the fat gold chains' to 'the ice out diamonds and platniums'. Really, what's the difference? I think that the whole deal of that in the 80s was to show how big it really was, not just a fad that's gonna be gone. Hip Hop set itself apart from other genres.

Things I'm Selling/Willing to Trade

Things I'm Selling/Willing to Trade
mfuqua23 replied to Fresh-Ta-Def's topic in Caught in the Middle
Well, if you have a burner, make a copy extra copies of some of them cds that U know for a fact U can sell. I could've made a killing on 50's Massacre cd, but my people r jerks. And to kill 2 birds with one stone, maybe download all of Da Brakes stuff, and get a buzz going for him and cash in your pocket. Vipa (DJ GTS) has a nice mix cd available too. Any form of currency U just happen to find on the ground, pick it up. Every bit counts. Maybe U got a skill in something that's competitive. (video games, sports, etc.) Hustle 'em if possible or just str8 up in there face whoop their behinds. :lolsign: Just some small ideas. btw, would asking what it's for kinda kill off your help? -
FuQ - Opportunity (just now put up, check it out)

Things I'm Selling/Willing to Trade

U know, U should advertise all your 50 Cent stuff at Lorettaville aka WS Board, or even the 50 Cent websites. U could make a killing probably. -
Hey, I used that beat also for my "From The Penn" album, but mine was about a girl that steps out on her man. I thought the lyrics were ok. Definately mixtape material. "Go to war in name of your God, raise the gun" - that was a powerful line that stuck out for me "You can't help yourself, so let's stand for someone else" - just to make it sound better. So how many more tracks before "The First Coming" is finished? btw, if U want a beat, check out Nas's "The Second Coming". I really think you'd like it.

Suburban perspectives??? Is that really the right term to use? They're only shipping 1.6 million copies? I'm assuming that's enuff to beat out the competition.

U should see if any stores will give U a decent dollar for the stuff you can't sell or would prefer to. And word of advice, if your in need of money, don't regret this later. (but I'm sure U kno that) -
What's up y'all? I put the finishing touches on some lyrics for this song. MC2B (who can also be found on soundclick) liked my style to the point that he wants me over one of his beats. I wrote lyrics to "All Night", but it was just too much of not my flavor that I could use. This time around, I was feelin' "Opportunity" just enuff to see how things go. I'll be recording the audio most likely tomorrow, so til then, here's the lyrics... Verse 1 My opportunity to hit you in the face No dime stops the rhyme, time tick the bass No sweat set, wit a pen I inject rhythmic scripts into notebooks I've always kept While the rest dib and dap with their gift of gab need to face the realization I got something they never had Opportunity struck, others go down on their luck I get infurated, and then I erupt What's up with today's world of variety I'm the new found drug, but thru the ears U will be tryin' me Addictical fiends, mix me in the atmosphere Their inject will reflect like a bedroom mirror But record execs don't respect skill Only got in the business to make a dolla-dolla bill So y'all get ill, while the dj's scratching makes U infected Give me my shot now, but I'm not desperate Verse 2 I got the mic, and stand before a power that can change the way I live, not makin money by the hour It's a cloud of confusion, does my vibe move them Think they know enough that people like the music If not, cut out the middle man, go str8 to the source that walks up on this sound, yeah I'm feelin' their choice Makin stage presence good, words I'm speakin' understood Crowds come from anywhere that's livin' in the neighborhood I don't have to be Curtie Jackson actin' or fill up da spot wit a bunch a different factions The fact is, that I'm good at what I do A natural ability that no one comes close to But yet so many get thru by misconception The game is f***ed up, it needs a contraceptive Roll over Rover, diggy doggin 4 a bone The now or never chance tha won't be blown Verse 3 It's a rough reality to predict the mentality cuz ya never know who can cross ya undoubtably I keep in presence of mind, exactly what's mine Nobody's takin the good of my find I'm takin such a competitive stance Try to make me think I got nothing but a dead end chance I'll get cha brick wall blown to bits Challenge you punks, crossin' the line and jumpin' every fence I'm not unstoppable, but I won't stop for you I'm contained in what I wanna do Rock the blocks, make the beats continue Into an artistic picture, my rhymes can send you It all depends what type of ledge your on But I know where to go so I don't fall in bad form And plot the best, don't waste ya breath This my spot, you need to step -------------------------------------- I don't think it's my best. I'd just use to get a buzz or soemthing.

That's right at home for me. Well kind of. Quite interesting. Anybody could write "gangsta lyrics", regardless of where they live or who they are. I will say one thing, if Latour gets a record deal, we know whose "fault" it is. :lolsign:
