  1. Wasn't Dave Chappelle on this show one time? I remember he showed at clip of him at the show and made some funny remarks about how he felt.
  2. I agree. Will_is_Ill had an all-round verse. He certainly had a tuff opponent.
  3. That's something to really think about. I don't know the whole deal wit Bill O'Reiley tho. Since I don't follow KRS-One, I can't say too much. But I know he's out there and at least doing something for Hip-hop.
  4. YYYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! This show is so bomb! Finally season 2.
  5. There's more than one way to get educated. School's just one of the places to go. Certainly gives U the easiest access.
  6. Some of these 'rappers' are like that ugly lookin paper on an unthoughtful gift that somebody spent 2.99 at a drug store. And where's Elmer Fudd? I could've swore he said he's hunting wappers this season. We all know they're not smart enuff to pull of Bugs Bunny's stunts. And trust me, Bugs has got the real stunt 101 after all these years.
  7. Quick, somebody call in the dogs. (and no singing James Brown will not help U)
  8. Oh yeah. I'm gonna get this. Public Enemy!!! Too bad it's a week after my b-day. Come PE, push it up so I can really have a celebration.
  9. That last sentence astounds me, cuz it's seems so true. Can U imagine if our generation had to deal wit civil rights the way those b4 us did? It'd be total choas. Even back then, we had a balance. Not in just music but our views on how to get equality. Malcolm was militant. Martin was peaceful. But it was all towards the same goal. Equality. Lately, I've been listening to stuff from 90-91. I can't believe how diverse Hip-hop was. Even tho Pac was more mid-90s, I'd still say 1990 was the best final year of an overall viewing of Hip-Hop. What Ice Cube said, what Public Enemy said, what JJFP said, Digital Underground, Kid n Play, Special Ed; I mean the list just goes on and on.
  10. geez where do u go 2 school? i read Lord of the Flies this year as a 10th grader in regular old Enlgish 10. i dont think that book is appropriate 4 advanced seniors. i dunno man, our school aint known 4 real good education, but it makes me wonder what ur school is doin I don't know. our school is pathetic at times. Most of time. :kekeke: Where R U from? Our school is more than likely gonna have less than 100 kids graduate. At the start of our freshmen year, we had like 147. (# changed from kids going to another school or dropping out, etc.) Our school only does so much I guess because we've got one lil area. Trinity (our rivals) can expand cuz they got all this land. We're like a donut. They're the outside, and we're that lil hole in the middle. So they get major money and we don't. Our school's really a sad state of affairs.
  11. Yes, he did an awesome job, but did he get the awesome votes? This one was a tuff call for me.
  12. R U crazy? he did it again. When I read cataboy's yesterday, I was like "FPC gotta come wit somethin' good. Cata might have him". That was another good battle.
  13. U really can't see the resemblance. Just look at Brakes "Brake Yourself" EP. I mean Elephant man is darker wit wild hair, but it is pretty close.
  14. hey reborn, if it makes U feel any better, our high school's 12th grade advanced english is reading "lord of the flies". So others can feel ya pain. Me I can't cuz I'm in regular English. We just finished reading "Valedictory". A janitor on graduation day remembering the students he grew to love.
  15. Well, we don't have to only be entertain by tv and music. I'm sure some people like to read a book just as well. Maybe it could interest others to look it up. Much like music, movies, etc. have wit this forum. Why exclude the one the simplist forms of entertaining or educating? So, I'm currently reading... Makes Me Wanna Holler: A Young Black Man in America by Nathan McCall I've been really gettin a lot of insight outta this book. My bro recommended that I read it, so I picked it up off of him one day. I'm a lil more than half way done. He grew up doing wrong and stuff, but turned it around. (the easiest way to put it, but still no reason to overlook it) Everybody can relate and/or understand it at some point.
  16. U know, in that pic up above of Elephant man, that kinda looks like Da Brakes.
  17. i don't even remember. I never pay attention to the bottom of the board like I should I guess. I think people did. I can recall it.
  18. My fav. 3 were Hero1, bigted, and FPC. Hero1 didn't come at Joe enuff, if even at all. Yeah I know, the average joes line. But even so, it felt like a general rap. FPC was my instant pick for best verse. I liked the way it flowed the whole way thru. bigted's thru me off, but then I read it a few more times and could see a nice picture of the true essence of Hip-hop (as far as battlin' is concerned) It was a tuff call between FPC and bigted for me, but wit the way I can read and understand, I'd say bigted.
  19. Hey everybody. Now that the 1st round is completed, who do U think had the best verse outta everybody? Some things I look at are flow and context. Vocabulary is a nice addition. Relevance is another. Creativity, after all, this is a type of writing contest. Or anything U can think of.
  20. Well, i thought it was actually comedy. but this is more of a drama, and it's very sad. Where's Shakespeare when ya need him. What light thru yonder window breaks? It is the east... and Nick Cannon causes me to thinketh and speak not of him being the worst self-indulging rapper.
  21. Hey bago, did U write those lyrics that R in ya sig? those are some dope lyrics.
  22. hey AJ, I thought that one was called "All Out". U got the original I assume. nothing....
