Jada Pinkett Smith: I'm a Stricter Parent Than Will
MissAshley replied to Ale's topic in Will Smith Movies
Will has that Bill Cosby/Cliff Huxtable thing going on, lol. It's funny you say that TopDawg, Will said as much in a recent interview, something like "I told my kids when I was growing up there was a thing called spanking" and he said they laughed and him, lol. Jada said when she's away they get away with stuff they wouldn't dare try with her lol. oh the irony of "Parents Just Don't Understand". :wiggle: -
feel better Cookies.

a little more about the character: "John Masius has created a beautifully drawn character, and we couldn't have wished for a better choice to play her than Jada. Nancy Hawthorne is incredibly dynamic, a nurse whose energy, self-sacrifice and heroism changes lives on a daily basis," said Michael Wright, senior vice president in charge of the Content Creation Group for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. "We are thrilled to have this wonderful actress on board for this very special drama." "Time Heals" takes place at Charlotte Mercy Hospital in North Carolina, where the strong but caring Nancy Hawthorne, played by Pinkett Smith, continuously fights a battle she often knows she won't win. Whether treating the homeless woman in front of the hospital like a human being or trying to talk a suicidal cancer patient off the ledge, Nancy must challenge hospital administrators, heartless doctors, apathetic colleagues and a system that sometimes forgets it's there to serve the sick. Recently widowed and the mother of a smart, willful teenager, Nancy juggles her career with her equally important role as a single parent. Between the two, she barely has time for herself and has difficulty keeping things together. But she knows she has to. She can't give up on anyone. That's what her passion requires; it's what it takes to be a hero. http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7012348561

Jada Pinkett Smith to make 'Time' Actress will star in TNT drama from John Masius By Nellie Andreeva Sept 18, 2008, 01:00 AM ET Jada Pinkett Smith is returning to television as the star and executive producer of TNT's drama pilot "Time Heals." The project, penned by Emmy winner John Masius, centers on Nancy Hawthorne (Pinkett Smith), a strong but caring director of nursing at Charlotte Mercy Hospital in North Carolina, a single mother who always puts the pain of others first. In addition to starring, Pinkett Smith will exec produce "Time Heals" with Masius and Jamie Tarses. Sony TV is producing in association with Pinkett Smith's 100% Womon. As a procedural with a strong female character at the center played by an A-list actress, "Time" fits nicely with TNT's crime dramas "The Closer," starring Kyra Sedgwick, and "Saving Grace," starring Holly Hunter. Pinkett Smith co-starred on the NBC comedy "A Different World" for two years before segueing to features. ICM-repped Pinkett Smith, now on the big screen in "The Women," recently wrapped her writing and directorial feature debut, "The Human Contract." She also co-created and executive produced with husband Will Smith and Betsy Borns the UPN comedy "All of Us." http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/conten...9b523a7f396bd2c -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm kinda over medical dramas (except for ER, lol) but i've been waiting for Jada to return to TV for a while now, this sounds like a cool project for her.

lmao @ this.... DN: Who’s the better actor? You or Will Smith? LL: I think the guy who has had the better films is Will Smith. I don’t know if he’s a better actor than me. I don’t think so. I am a rapper first. Man, I just love what I do. I am just the greatest and I can’t help it. I’m sorry man. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/2008/09/...l_j.html?page=0 :stickpoke: what has LL done seriously as an actor? maybe I missed something.

The title?!! am I the only one hearing the chorus? lmao. he's gonna have some serious editing for radio play. Cookies,I believe Pam is his mom, Will's older sister.

the most scary part of all this, if they manage to win the election, John McCain is like 106 years old, now i'm not wishing anything bad on the guy, but is she seriously who people would want running this country if that man dies? Schnazz, I think they're just trying to deflect from the fact that much of McCain's criticism of Obama was about his inexperience, but when the tables are turned it's like hey she's woman we can throw out the "sexism" card, then the idiots aren't even using it in the right context. She's supposedly a feminist, but making her kid have a shotgun wedding? way to set us women back 60 yrs. :shakehead: All I've heard about her husband the "first dude" as he's called in Alaska (where STDS are apparently running rampant) is that he likes snowmobiles and sh**, but here they are with a son going to Iraq, a daughter pregnant @ 17 and engaged to be married to a self proclaimed redneck who doesn't want kids (but it's myspace so you never know) , not to mention a special needs child she gave birth to then went back to work three days later, but she swears he's the best-most-hands-on-daddy out there, dude better be friggin' Father of the Year b/c I'm really wondering where mommy's priorities lie. oh and I call BS on McCain knowing that girl was pregnant, and if he did in fact, why wait for her mother to throw her under the bus? Politics aside I think there's too much about this woman's character that's shady, apparently she's known for abusing her power back in Alaska concerning stuff with family members, i'm with the OP...wtf was he thinking?

can you tell i'm very bored this Labor Day. :P Obama's view, he wants the press to back off her family, I appreciate the sentiment, but not likely to happen. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail...o_back_off.html
-
I wonder, does she even wanna marry this boy, or was that decision made for her? like just when did this wedding come about? considering they put out the story to cover up a rumor. Nevermind the fact she's pregnant would've been obvious at some point.
-
Well, idk if you're talking about this specific instance when you say illegitimate news, but I think this is making headlines for the simple fact that (from my understanding) this woman is against abortion, against sex education, against birth control and for abstaining from sex. Granted you can't control what your kids do, but here she is with a 17 y/o daughter who has to get married b/c she's pregnant, I feel bad for the girl to be honest. The irony is laughable though the situation is not, personally I find it all kinda hypocritical but I do love how they managed to throw Obama's name into the article (sarcasm). But I def. agree that politics is a nasty game.

here's an AP article for you guys, Sarah says Trig is hers, but her daughter is pregnant now... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080901/ap_on_..._palin_daughter

I wasn't posting it to set off a true or false debate, and I'm generally one for the whole reliable source thing. I don't know whether it's true or not but I found it interesting for the same reasons Max did, the labor issue. If you're in labor why go through what you did instead of making things easier for yourself and your baby? to me that speaks volumes. It'll be interesting to see if anything comes of this. At her age she's considered high risk, and there are tests you can take to tell if your baby will be born with Down Syndrome or other health issues, she's leaking amniotic fluid but she "wasn't gonna miss that speech"? I think that's horrible. for her family's sake I hope it not true and she's not dumb enough to think she can cover it up.

This is what I find most interesting about his choice: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/30/12.../137/486/580223

a lot of movies are just now premiering in Japan, they're usually the last stop on a tour, weeks after the other countries. I think Jodie Foster was just there promoting Nim's Island and that came out in like April, it's about to be on dvd if isn't already. they get movies really late.

like yesterday or something, that's where he's leaving for from LAX in the pink tee
