don't know if it's been posted or not cuz it's about a year old lol but I stumbled upon it so here it is anyway: Jazzy Jeff gets fresh at UW DJ all smiles throughout first appearance at Federation Hall Fed Hall was a sight to behold on Thursday, October 14, as the "Magnificent One" himself, DJ Jazzy Jeff, made his first ever appearance on UW campus. The evening began with the Feds' very own DJ Brandon warming up the crowd with a fine selection of breaks and old school. Next on the decks were Fed Hall residents DJ Disgrace and DJ Penny, alongside special guest DJ White Gold, setting the mood with some club and reggae favourites. The crowd roared when Jeff, who co-starred with Will Smith in the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, hit the stage around midnight. Jeff's road crew quickly set up the Rane Serato Scratch interface, allowing Jeff to choose from over 10,000 records without even flipping through a crate. Mad Skillz jumped on the mic, hyping the crowd while Jeff settled in on stage. From the start, Jeff confirmed that he was worth every penny of his four-figure contract by showing off his beat-juggling skills and signature transformer scratch. A screen on stage left allowed the audience to get a first hand look at how Jeff flawlessly handled the turntables. The crowd seemed mesmerized throughout the night while watching the screen more closely than Jeff himself. This was especially apparent when he spent nearly five minutes working two of the all-time classic battle records: LL Cool J's "Rock the Bells" and Run-DMC's "Peter Piper." Interestingly, these were the only two actual 12 inch singles Jeff played all night. His set, which lasted almost two hours, bridged the gap between old school hip hop classics and current club bangers. There was even time put aside for Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." It was unfortunate, however, that he never gave the audience a glimpse of his upcoming house CD, which will soon be released on Defected Records. Sipping on his iced tea (apparently Fed Hall has the best iced tea on his tour so far), Jeff continued to drop hit after hit, smiling all the while. It was evident that he has not only mastered his craft, but loves it as well. Although the night ended abruptly at 2:00 a.m., Jeff graciously remained to sign autographs and pose for pictures with many of his adoring fans. http://imprint.uwaterloo.ca/story.php?f=2&...&v=f&story=5861 ^follow the link to a small pic of him @ his turtables

i wouldn't believe this until i've seen 20 different threads in google news lol..i def. wouldn't go by what the loretta's say, they actually think Jada's a scientologist just b/c the Smiths are friend's of Tom Cruise and they home school their kids....i don't think it's the right time for a reality show, necessarily, but i wouldn't mind seeing him on Diary or something

i didn't see this topic, but i've always wondered about it, some songs kinda get me weepy eyed, but I've never actually cried: Just The Two Of Us/Will Smith- got me teary, cuz it's an insanely sweet song To Zion/Lauryn Hill- another sweet song, Lauryn's one of my fave voices, just great expression of a mother's love for her son Dear Mama & Keep ya Head Up/Tupac- both of these songs are just honest straight from the heart....i love the poet in Pac Tell me Why/Will Smith- you can just hear the emotions in every lyric, esp. like Julie said when he asks "Daddy were there people in that building?" it's almost as if he's standing next to him and asking while he's rapping, and when Will asks about little Sterling, i almost want to cry for him (yeah i'm a crybaby) Hero/Mariah Carey- gets me really deep in thought, i love her range Africa/R.Kelly- one of his songs not about women and sex, that i can actually appreciate lol, but seriously,it really put me in the mind of the things going on in Africa esp. with the children Soar&Beautiful/Christina Aguilera- not usually a big fan of hers but i love the message in Beautiful and fell in love with Soar after I saw Rize Dance With My Father/Luther Vandross-sad but sweet @ the same time My Story& Meant to Go/Jada Pinkett Smith- from the first album(I loved the R&B tracks on there) before she went all metal on me lol, also a kinda sad songs but you can tell she's singing from the heart esp. when she talks about Will and Pac ...there's probably more but i'll shut up lol
-

DreamWorks Plans 'Madagascar 2' for 2008 Wed, Sep 14, 2005, 12:09 PM PT LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com)- Leaping lemurs! DreamWorks Animation is looking to go back to the jungle with "Madagascar 2," a sequel to this summer's smash hit. Given that the computer animated "Madagascar" has made more than $500 million worldwide (nearly $200 million in the United States alone), a sequel was probably a foregone conclusion, but DreamWorks principal Jeffrey Katzenberg made it official on Wednesday (Sept. 14). A new theatrical follow-up is beginning to rev up with an eye towards a 2008 release. "As a result of its tremendous box office success, the potential to tell a new chapter in its story and the popularity of the film's characters, we are excited to announce that we are making 'Madagascar' our second company franchise -- along with 'Shrek,'" says Katzenberg in a statement Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and Jada Pinkett Smith are committed to returning as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra and Gloria the Hippo, respectively. Other voices from the original are expected to be back as well. In addition to the official "Madagascar 2," Katzenberg revealed that the popular penguins, supporting characters who primed many a young mind for the documentary "March of the Penguins," will star in a direct-to-DVD sequel set for 2009. The penguins will also return in a ten-minute short that will play before the DreamWorks October release "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit." http://www.zap2it.com/movies/news/story/0,...--26762,00.html i hope Ali G comes back too, b/c King Julian had me lmao! i figured there would be a sequel when i heard the box office numbers

I find that people who are really great get hated on the most, and usually by someone who doesn't matter
