  1. Yea, OK, they're rich, big deal. But with all they got goin on and their cars, estates, jewelry, clothes, etc., how much of that money do they actually get to keep and enjoy??? They have to make that kind of money to support their lifestyles.
  2. Yea, some of those jokes went too far, but the main thing is that Flav kept laughing despite being joked about.
  3. http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/roast_f...lav/index.jhtml :lolsign:
  4. I see no more info on this, and it's supposed to be released tomorrow. His myspace page has no info on it neither. Knew it was too good to be true.
  5. One of my faves from high school. Still have the cassette single.
  6. huh uh huh that was cool I love Transformers too, but I'm nervous about how this movie's going to be.
  7. My favorite Jay-Z song is "The Originators". :lolsign: Best rapper alive? Notice the kind of people who voted for him. `Nuff said.
  8. I forget where it is, but I remember in Revelation that earthly government will eventually turn on religion. And considering the noise that was going on in the media about the word "Christmas" last year, this is just a sign of things to come. Mistake? Maybe...or maybe not. I thought the title of this thread was referencing a song title...haha. Actually it could be...the song could be about all the money being made by the music business by what they're promoting: "Godless dollars being made...by BET and the images displayed...by fake MC's obsessed with gettin laid..."
  9. :werd: Also remember that when it comes to commercial rap, popular artists and trends die out. Hammer was all pop and dance and hype, no real skills even when he tried to be "gangsta". He was leading the "dance rap" craze until gangsta rap took over, then everyone started copying Dre and Snoop Dogg. The south may be on top now, but the public will get tired of it and move on and Wayne will be gone.
  10. And LL ain't even first on the track from his own album! Weak. Old school rappers need to stand on their own and not ride someone else. He's just doin it to get himself attention, like "look at who I'm rollin with!" Respect is earned, not because you're down with a trendy clique. Just like Run on "Crown Royal" with Third Eye Blind, Fred Durst, Kid Rock, and Sugar Ray...trying to be trendy with bad results.
  11. Petrol (change the w to an l)? Your first name is Mike (Mic) so you are half way there already!
  12. L.L. Cool J rare tracks: Big Ole Butt (12" remix) - great hard beat and cool bass line in the chorus http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KQAHK1W0 Live Freestyle 1985 - rippin the mic with this one http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7DUGWXZY You'll Rock (Remix) - good http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9E7XENH2 Dangerous (Burnt Mix) - mainly an instrumental with some added effects - disappointing http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6HLOHPQ5
  13. True dat...or that there is more to rap/hip-hop then the materialistic, violent and sexual content that is promoted in both music and in videos. I'm hesitant to say I like hip-hop to some people because I don't want to be judged by what they see/hear about it. I was proud to wear my rap t-shirts back in the day, now I don't want to be associated with what "hip-hop" is associated with. Another reason to "bring `88 back".
  14. No prob. It's not a literal "mash-up", he was a guest on their official album. Glad they made the right choice...even they know who's real in hip-hop.
  15. I forgot about this song cause it is on one of Korn's albums, but Nas flows well on it. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DKFJ4P7E :wickedwisdom:
  16. I Need A Beat (Original Version): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7NXTQBU8 Blame It On Me (Demo version of Jack The Ripper): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9XA65NYW I'll post the others when I get them.
  17. I need LL Cool J - "Big Ole Butt (Remix)". I have the original "I Need A Beat" and I'm getting a remix of "Dangerous" from vinyl if y'all want them. BWF: I have Race Card if you still need it.
  18. Yes I have the songs on CD. My love for JJ&FP has gone nowhere, but money is worth more than duplicates right now, and every little bit helps. Plus I like to help out fellow collectors.
  19. Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince: Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble (1988 Remix) / Brand New Funk - 7" vinyl, sleeve has wear, record is good condition. ...And In This Corner, Homebase, Code Red cassette albums, good condition Will Smith: Big Willie Style CD, near mint condition. All for 99 cents. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=290099456357
  20. I agree with it all except for one thing: "We need to bring it back to 88!". NO WE DON'T! Ultramagnetic didn't say 'we gonna bring it back to '74' " We all say that we want fun back in rap...well 1988 was during the time when rap WAS fun! JJ+FP, Biz, The Fat Boys, etc. were making us laugh while displaying good skills on the mic. I say we DO need to take it back to 88 because that's when the best selling rappers were unique and did not copy each other or follow trends. Almost everything in that "speech" was not happening in the 80's, and it sounds like we think the rap industry would be better if it did go back in time. Ultramagnetic didn't say 'we gonna bring it back to '74' because, as KRS-ONE put it at the time, "rap is still a brand new tool". Now we have a reference point to judge the current music with, and we see how the quality of rap (and music in general) has degraded.
  21. I don't care, I'm just glad the Patriots aren't in it again. But with Rex throwing so many INTs during the year, the Bears better be careful.
  22. Gotta bring it back: Lots of little knots that need to be tied A pair of knuckleheads walkin side by side down the altar, you say to yourself, "I will not falter" But you're thinkin it -- how did I get myself in this predicament? Saw the def cutie that made your heart sing You hopped to the shop and got a ring Felt left out cause all your friends are hooked But now you're at the altar, your goose is cooked You say a prayer, "Lord please give me strength to make it through" Opened up your nervous mouth, slipped and said, "I do" (thinking) "I don't, IdoIdoIdo, I don't I don't, IdoIdo, I don't, I don't" Look you do son, now hurry up and kiss the brizide Peace said the father, cause now the knot is tied -- Digital Underground: "Tie The Knot" 1991 Congrats.
  23. For a sec, I thought this was referring to the old go-go group...heh :woot: Doin' da butt!
  24. OC - Time's Up: Non-conceptual, non-exceptional Everybody's either crime-related or sexual Released over 10 years ago and still applies. Classic.
  25. Lots of memories there, no doubt. I'd like to know what happened to the original pre-Ruthless J.J. FAD with the 5 girls (only 2 went to Ruthless). I like their version of Supersonic better.
