  1. Lil' Jon is not the first dude to do "club music". If you go back and listen to old tapes of block parties back in the day in NYC, dudes would get on the mic and come up with simplistic rhymes to get the crowd hyped over phat beats. Luke made millions off of this concept as did a lot of artists from the south. Lil' Jon makes party music plain and simple. No one is mistaking him for a real MC.
  2. I remember when this movie came out. A friend of mine wanted to see it(I didn't) but about halfway through the movie she got bored and we ended up sneaking into another movie(I think it was The Good Son with Elijah Wood and MacCauly Culkin). Ahhh... college days. I miss it.
  3. And this is the crux of the problem with the music industry. The industry knows that to keep the power you have to control the young people. You do that by dumbing down the music and poof... the public at large continues to want dumbed down music. Take a look at who's in heavy rotation in R&B and rap. It's nothing but a bunch of wack rappers and Beyonce wannabes. It's sickening to me how much music has fallen... within the last 20 years. That's why I was so angry about Robin Thicke's album being pushed back again. There's some good music out there but for whatever reason it's being pushed back, poorly marketed or shelved completely.
  4. I have to vent for a second!!!! :arg: I'm checking out my music blogs and come to find out that Robin Thicke's sophomore album, The Evolution Of Robin Thicke, has been pushed back... yet again. It was supposed to released earlier this spring but was pushed back to August 1st. Now it has been pushed back to September 12th. I am so sick of these record companies pushing records back and shelving good music. I have an advanced, yet not the best in quality copy of TEORT and I must say that it's really the best album I've heard this year other than Lupe's Food & Liquor(which keeps getting pushed back as well). If it isn't giving promotion to quality albums(Lost & Found) then they're shelving albums and I'm really getting sick of this. JUST RELEASE THE DAMN ALBUMS AND LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE IF IT'S GOOD OR NOT!!! STOP ROBBING THE PEOPLE OF GOOD MUSIC WHILE RUSHING TO RELEASE CRAP LIKE wack rapper #1!!!!! :tantrum: :bangcomp:   :protest: :arg: O.K. I'm off my soap box now.
  5. That's usually how most people think when they sell out for money. As I've said before, 50 is not serious about hip-hop. It's his hustle. He uses it to make money. He's not trying to make a difference in his music like Common or deadprez. So he could a rat's a$$ about respect and responsibility.
  6. I also have the leaked album and I do plan on buying it when it comes out. Lupe is a breath of fresh air and whatever he "officially" releases will be the best thing I've heard in terms of hip-hop all year. This dude has the potential to be great.
  7. Jane Child - I Don't Wanna Fall In Love(T. Riley Remix)
  8. A lot of this is due to the fact that Hanks just had "DaVinci Code" and Depp has "Pirates" out in theatres. I'm sure Will would be in the lead if he had a blockbuster out right now.
  9. In no particular order: Common Fresh Prince Talib Kweli The Ambassador(Christian rapper) Phanatik(Christian rapper) KJ-52(Christian rapper) Mos Def Lupe Fiasco Busta Rhymes A Tribe Called Quest De La Soul
  10. I missed it but luckily it comes back on in the U.S. at 1:30AM EST/12:30AM CST.
  11. That's right!! The CHI is about to be on top of the sports world: 2006 Chicago White Sox(Defending World Champions) 2006 Chicago Bears(Defending NFC North Champions) 2006-07 Chicago Bulls(Future NBA Champions)
  12. I thought it was a joke when I first heard about it. It's sad but it doesn't surprise me. LL is about remaining relevant. He's looked at his peers and seen how his peers haven't maintained popularity. He's trying to run with the young dogs. While I don't have a problem with that, I do have a problem with the "young dogs" he's running with. By having 50 be the e.p. on the album, you know that there will be no depth on the album and I do believe that 50 will have either his voice or his production on every track. To me that spells of pure garbage. I hope LL changes his mind but I don't think so. His credibility is going to suffer because of this.

  14. If Em can return to his Infinite/Slim Shady LP form then I think it will be good for hip-hop. No one can deny that dude is ill on the mike but I think he got bored after the Marshall Mathers LP. Sometimes it takes tragic things in life to bring you back to what really matters and hopefully Em has return to just being a lyricist. I think he can only mature and grow as an emcee. Now if he can only get rid of those G-Unit idiots....
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! :wiggle: :gettinjiggywitit: :kool: :2thumbs:
  16. Old School LL > Old School FP New School FP > New School LL Overall, it's a push. LL back in the day was just lyrically better than FP but as they both got older FP's lyricism has surpassed LL.
  17. Ugh, that Young Joc song is awful. Whenever i hear it on the radio, i have 2 deside which is easier...changing the station...or driving my car in a building as fast as possible. Terrible song...terrible "artist." OK, now that was the funniest statement in this thread. Pure comedy.
  18. I don't know about the music part. They're both equally wack. It's a push.
  19. Now that was funny. LMAO!!!!
  20. That's the thing. This is the one time where I'm not really listening to the lyrics but rather enjoying the beat. I agree with you 100% that the lyrics are trash but it's a song to just act silly to.
  21. Apparently Bow Wow just can't stop barking and keep his mouth shut. After going after Lil' Romeo and being thoroughly embarrassed by going after the Fresh Prince, the little mutt has set his sights on a new target... Nick Cannon??? Here is the link to that: Bow Wow vs. Nick Cannon??? Now I'm not a big Nick Cannon fan but Bow Wow is really making a fool of himself.
  22. As summer begins what are the 5 songs you're going to be bumping just a little more this summer? For me it's: Beyonce feat. Jay-Z - Deja Vu Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland - Promiscuous Robin Thicke feat. Pharrell - Wanna Love You Girl Pharrell & Kanye West - Number One Lil' Jon feat. E-40 & Sean Paul - Snap Your Fingers(don't laugh and clown me. I'm not a big Lil' Jon fan but the beat is bananas)
  23. Viber 91, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!
