In the most recent issue of Premiere Magazine, they have their annual Power List and Will checks in at #14. He was ranked #18 last year. He is the second highest actor on the list. Who's ahead of him? You guessed it - Tom Cruise at #12. They are the two most powerful actors in Hollywood. Congrats to Will!

I have been searching high & low for a song by Sting called "It's Probably Me". It's not the original on The Ten Summoners album but rather a remix featuring Eric Clapton on guitar and was the featured song on the Lethal Weapon 3 Soundtrack. If anyone has this song, can u help a brotha out. Thanks in advance.

That song and video was what made me a Roots fan. It's a classic diss video. It totally made the "mainstream" rap industry look really foolish.

I would not be surprised if this movie gets shelved completely. It looks more and more like "I Am Legend" will be Will's next movie.

I had a chance to listen to the album and I gotta say... the album gets a little whiny after the first couple of songs. I deleted it from my computer.

I can understand Oprah's statement about rappers having more responsibility with their lyrics. I think we all agree on that point but(and I can't believe I'm saying this) 50 has a point. If Oprah is a fan of hip-hop as she claims, how come she doesn't use her power(i.e. her show, her magazine and her production company) to put the shine on rappers who do have responsible and socially conscious music. Have you seen Talib Kweli on Oprah? Mos Def? Common? Since she's such good friends with Will then why doesn't she have him on the show? She can talk about how much she "loves" hip-hop but actions speak louder than words for me. To have those type of rappers on her show would do so much good for the younger generation. Oprah might want to think about that while she's making her criticisms.

many people miss the point.. He's trying to take his body as far it can go... testing his mind and himself to see how much he and we are capable of achieving... But that's not magic - it's endurance. I don't believe he's a magician because he doesn't do real tricks. I didn't see the special and I'm so glad I didn't because I would have been pissed. Not to be funny(but then again it is funny) but wasn't this "special" false advertisement? The promos here in the States said he would either break the record or drown. He didn't do either. What kind of crap is that.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AJ!!!! IT'S A CELEBRATION, B******!!!

I find it interesting that in other parts of the world, people embrace the entire spectrum of hip-hop while here in the U.S. we have embraced the materialism and put it into the music. You hardly see real DJs getting top-billing in the states(mixtape DJs don't count as DJs in my book). You really don't see graffiti artists doing murals anymore. That was big during the 80's. The break-dancing, b-boying aspects of hip-hop, along with REAL DJing and graffiti, have gone completely underground. Cats who promote positivity and social issues rarely see the light of day on radio & TV(I know Kanye is there but he's the exception to the rule). I just think that the music you hear today is a snapshot of what life is like here in the U.S. We have sold our souls for materialism and fame and it's very apparent in our music. It is said that to control a group of people down you clutter their minds with useless things. As long as rappers continue to talk about money, sex and drugs in their music then they're not talking about responsibility, positivity and uplifting and thus you continue to control the people. It's really sad how morally corrupt we've become. :shakehead:

AJ, I couldn't have said it better myself. It's all about how you want to live your life. We've all been down at some point in our lives but the measure of a person is that person's ability to get back up after they've been knocked down. There have been times when I've been knocked down(and at times feeling like I'm knocked out) but then I have to remember that I'm here for a purpose and my life has purpose. This world and the evil in this world can beat you down. My word of advice is simple: You can get back up. You can do it. Don't allow anyone or anything to keep you from getting back up on your feet.

The reason the world is messed up the way it is has to do with man, not God. The message of hope & love is God's message. It is man who takes His Word and twists it to appeal to their agenda(i.e. terrorists, people who bomb abortion clinics and kill pregnant, single women, people who start wars "in the name of God.") If a priest abuses a child, that doesn't mean God's word is invalid, it just means that the priest allowed his sickness to rule over God and His Word. That was what LL was trying to say in that song. Instead of beefing and talking about guns, money and sex, we ought to instead seek God and fulfill His will for our lives instead chasing after material things. The U.S. is in the mess that they're in because as a society we worship materialism instead of God. It's the world and its policies that are messed up. It's us. We've got to be better people.
