  1. I have Doug E Fresh & Slick Rick http://rapidshare.de/files/15714640/Hip_Ho...i_Dadi.mp3.html Thank you, oh kind sir!!!
  2. I need an old-school joint: Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew - La Di Dadi
  3. I'm happy that they're finally going to film the movie but don't ya think it's going to be kinda of hard to picture Indy as a senior citizen? I mean, what's the title going to be... Indiana Jones & The Search for Viagara? Indiana Jones & The Nursing Home of Doom? I can see there are going to be a lot of special effects in this installment.
  4. :lolsign: :kekeke:  That was funny. You're wrong for that Tim... but funny nonetheless.
  5. I think most of us would be more receptive and open-minded if the industry was more open-minded. If Common, FP, De La and others would be played as much as 3-6 Mafia, 50 Cent, Mike Jones, etc. then I don't think there would be as big of an outrage as there is with 3-6 picking up an Oscar award. Their song and performance is a poor representation of hip-hop... and to a lot of African-Americans it is a poor representation of the race. As I said before, there are plenty of stereotypes regarding black males & hip-hop and seeing them on stage was a disgrace. It's also hard to be open-minded when the rhymes they spit are pure garbage and negative.
  6. The first "making hip-hop history" moment was Will being the first rapper nominated for an Oscar. Eminem became the first rapper to win an Oscar for "Lose Yourself" and unfortunately, Three 6 Mafia became the first rap artist to perform at the Oscars. :shakehead: I thought the Academy nominated the song just to be in a joking mood but now that it won for Best Original Song?.... :paperbag: Also realize that this telecast last night was broadcast all around the world and for some people this is their first brush with rap. :shakehead: :paperbag:
  7. Yeah I really like that show. I guess my favorite moment so far from Season 2 is when Lil' John did a skit where his team remixed "London Bridge Is Falling Down." The sad thing about that is if it were really released as a single it would sell. :lolsign: :kekeke: I'm not going to front though... the beat on that song was tight.
  8. I guess I'll be the lone voice in the wilderness but I don't see a problem with what he said. I'd rather him make a great album every 2 or 3 years(like Lost & Found) than be like the rest of the industry releasing garbage every 12 months. He can't really afford to take a break doing movies because that's where his fame is. It's because of his fame as an actor that he can continue to release albums. If he wasn't the major star that he is in Hollywood do you really think he would be still out just doing rap? Look at LL, Ice Cube and Queen Latifah. They all have longevity and a large part of that is because they took on acting to keep their names out there. If not, they would be reduced to what a lot of old-school rappers are reduced to... recording on indie labels with no real chance of mass exposure. I'll take the music whenever I can get it from Will. He's 37 now and knows that he can't rap forever. Acting is the venue that will keep his name out there for another 20-30 years(hopefully with an Oscar award or two along the way). Rap isn't going to do that.
  9. This is not news to me. Will basically admitted that he's soft with the kids in "Just The Two Of Us": I try to be a tough dad/ But you be making me laugh. Even though Will is 37 now, he's still F.P. and F.P. is a big kid at heart. So it comes as no surprise to me that Jada is the one that has to lay down the law. :kekeke: :lolsign:
  10. I still don't understand why Busta won't speak to the police on this situation but yet says he's going to honor Ramirez's memory. The best way to honor his memory is to speak with the police so justice can be served and Ramirez's family can live in peace. Shouting him out on records and videos is not the way to go. I'm still disappointed in Busta for not doing the right thing. He hopes Ramirez will rest in peace but how can he when his murder goes unsolved?
  11. IT'S A CELEBRATION, B****!!!! Happy Birthday, Fan 4ever!!
  12. *looks at Hillary Duff picture* AW, HELL NAW!!!!! NO, NOT YOU TOO, HILLARY?!??!! What's next? Rudy from the Cosby Show half-naked on a rap video?... wait that's happened already. Ashley from FPOBA posing in a bikini in a magazine?... wait, that happened too. I give up.
  13. That's true. You can't just blame the labels, you gotta blame the people too. They're the ones buying crap like 50 Cent and others and the labels see that. Then the labels want more "artists" to do nonsense like 50 and the cycle just continues to go on & on. I remember reading an interview that Nas did a couple of years ago and he said people were booing when he performed "I Can" at a concert. They wanted to hear "Ether". "I Can" is one of the most positive songs to come out in the past 5 years and these knuckleheads want to hear "Ether"? The truth is that today's youth(not all of them but a good percentage of them) are not appreciative of the groundwork laid by pioneers such as Tribe, De La, JJFP and others so they can't appreciate good music now. De La, Public Enemy, Talib and others have to record on indie labels? What the hell is that?
  14. No I don't think so. I think Interscope has been about the bottom line since Dre dropped The Chronic in 1991. Interscope, like Sony, BMG/Universal and the others don't care about creativity in music. If they did, then MCs like Mos Def, Talib Kweli and other would be on major labels. What a lot of people have to understand is that the music industry is not interested in good music - just music that sells. And unfortunately what sells in America today is sex, violence and ignorance. As long as the people ask for it then the labels will continue to give it to them. Rap music is dead.
  15. Actually, they can force him to talk if they slap him with a subponea to appear in court. If he issued a subponea, he has to appear in court and testify under oath. If he lies in court, he could go to jail.
  16. It's like Lil' Mutt Mutt opened his gangsta gear box: Wife beater jacket - check. Tatoos - check. Backwards hat - check. Baggy jeans - check. Muscles... Muscles.... Muscles.... DAMMIT!! THEY FORGOT TO PUT MY MUSCLES IN THE BOX!!!!
  17. I kinda agree. If you're going to post pictures of beautiful women, at least try to find pics where there is some type of clothing on them. We also have women on this site. Let's keep that in mind.
  18. *While looking at Eva Mendes and wondering what must I do to marry her* How does this thread keep making back to the top of the board? *goes back to looking at picture of Eva Mendes and continues to wonder what I need to do to marry her*
  19. I was going to post this. I'm not shocked nor surprised by BET's decision. I find it unforgiveable that the major black cable network would rather show rap videos than the funeral of an incredible woman who gave her life to the struggle for civil rights. This was not a regular celebrity. This was the funeral for CORETTA SCOTT KING! It's not about making money; it's about paying proper respect to a woman who meant so much to this country and the civil rights movement. She was an icon. Shame on BET... but then again they're no longer owned by an African-American.
  20. I love that song as well. I think Without You is the best song on Kirk's album. BTW, I'm listening to SWV's Right Here/Human Nature remix
  21. Well it seems that Kanye is at it again... and this time he wants to be a biblical figure. This article is taken from contactmusic.com: COCKY WEST: 'I SHOULD BE IN THE BIBLE' Also see: KANYE WEST Cocky rap star KANYE WEST is calling for a revised edition of THE BIBLE, because he thinks he should be a character in it. The JESUS WALKS hitmaker, who picked up three Grammy Awards last night (08FEB06), feels sure he'd be "a griot" (West African storyteller) in a modern Bible. He says, "I bring up historical subjects in a way that makes kids want to learn about them. I'm an inspirational speaker. "I changed the sound of music more than one time... For all those reasons, I'd be a part of the Bible. I'm definitely in the history books already." :blabla: :nhawong:
  22. From what I understand about the incident, apparently Yayo got into it with Swizz Beatz and from there violence erupted. It's a real shame because someone has died because of some petty nonsense. I was rather surprised that Busta would even be collaborating G-Unit but hey I guess Busta gotta stay relevent. If he does know who did it or was a witness then he needs to help the authorities on this. This is not about "hood 101" and not snitching, it's about bringing justice to a family who has lost a loved one. Have we not learned anything from the deaths of Biggie & Tupac? Their murders remained unsolved and there is no real peace & justice for the respective families. I personally like Busta and have been a fan of his music since he was with Leaders Of The New School. I just hope that whoever did it would be brought to justice and there could be closure for the family and for Busta. This is going to hang over his head until the murder is solved.
  23. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TIM!!!!! :2thumbs: :yeah: :wickedwisdom:
