will smith is in sharktale with robert deniro who was in taxi driver with jodie foster
Nice one, Hero. My Will/Jodie Foster connection went as follows: Will shared a "love" scene with Garcelle Beauvais in Wild Wild West. She also had a role in Bad Company with Anthony Hopkins. Hopkins played the role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter opposite Jodie Foster in Silence Of The Lambs. As for the current answer, here goes: David Niven played Sir Charles Litton in 1983's Curse Of The Pink Panther. Also in the Curse Of The Pink Panther was Robert Loggia who co-starred with Will Smith in Independence Day. How about this one... Will Smith to Gwyneth Paltrow

I love Don't Say Nothing. It may be the best diss song Will's done. I love I'm Comin' and Uuuhhh too but Don't Say Nothing has that certain sound that makes it so dope. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's because the melody is kind of dark and moody.

I've got it! Paul W.S. Anderson directed Sam Neill in 1997's "Event Horizon." Sam Neill co-starred with Jeff Goldblum in the 1993 hit movie "Jurassic Park." Goldblum co-starred with Will Smith in Independence Day. Here's another one: Will Smith to Jodie Foster
Mel Gibson was in "the Village" directed by M. Night Shamalan, who directed "Unbrakable" with Samule L. Jackson who was in "Changing Lanes" with Ben Affleck who was in "Armagaddon" directed by Michael Bay who directed "Bad Boys (2)" with Will Smith.
Nice one, Alien. Here's my connection from Will to Mel: Will co-starred with Donald Sutherland in "Six Degrees..." who co-starred with Renee Russo in the hit movie "Outbreak." Russo played Mel Gibson's girlfriend/wife in "Lethal Weapon 3 & 4." The one with Paul W.S. Anderson is a tough one. I don't have an answer yet.

How about Will Smith to Mel Gibson? (This shouldn't be too hard).

Both of these cats are WACK!!! Ja Rule - started out as a "gansta" rapper; went big and started singing on tracks; tried to come back as a "gansta" 50 Cent - started out as a "gansta" rapper; went big with juvenile lyrics and singing on songs Ja Rule's 15 minutes are up and as far as 50 Cent is concerned he's about 14 of his 15 minutes.

I'm going with two songs, ironically both off the Willennium CD. "Da Butta" wasn't that good. Good beat by Jeff but I just didn't like it. The other one is the song he did with Eve. The song covered Michael Jackson's "Got Me Working Day & Night". It wasn't a good fit and... there are three people you shouldn't sample from: Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

I'll try and get Jill Scott & Boyz II Men's CD. I'm kinda upset that Boyz II Men is a trio instead of a quartet. Michael "Bass" McCrary retired due to his debilitating back problems.

Update on the numbers: Domestic: $140.0 million Overseas: $140.5 million Total Worldwide Box Office: $280.5 million... and counting. It looks to finish slighty over $300 million worldwide. Another box office smash for FP!!! :thumb: :thumb:

The question of the day is... will we remember this quy 6 years from now let alone 6 months from now? This movie(which was raked over the coals by most critcs) is the biggest role he's ever had. It's a far cry from being nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

First of all, I'm back... I expected the VMAs to be predictable and wack and sure enough, I was right. The performances were brutal(with the exception of Alicia Keys' performance). I thought Dave Chapelle should have hosted the show. You pretty much knew who was going to win what(although I was glad to see No Doubt win 2 awards). I'm also not surprised that MTV didn't promote Will's new single and album. They didn't promote B2R. It's really sad that the music industry shows no love to real artists like JJFP but will give acts like Nelly top-billing. It doesn't matter what you've done it only matters if you're hot right now. It doesn't matter to them that Will's sold nearly 30 million albums, won 4 Grammys and won every other music award conceivable. To the music industry, Will is not hot. In their minds, he an actor. It's a shame that the music industry is in such disarray.

As far as Will's movie projects go, he doesn't have anything scheduled yet, just a lot of rumors. The most persisent rumor has him doing the life story of Chris Gardener, a self-made millionaire from Chicago. Premiere Magazine(June '04) has a piece saying that Will, George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio are rumored to be doing a movie called Syriana. Will has publicly stated that he would like to do a few more action- blockbuster movies for the next few years.
And speaking of Britney... Did U know she's gonna do a remake of Bobby Brown's song "It's My Perogative (spelling?)
WHAAATTT?!?!?!?!??? Well, I know that's going to be brutal. I think Brit should stick to what she does best... lip synching.

I'm not much for "jazzy" titles but how about "Still F.P."?

Suddenly, my pick of $280 million for domestic and worldwide box office is looking better and better everyday!

Will at the VMAs? Cool. Will's appearance will be the only reason I'll think about watching the VMAs. They've become so boring and predictable.

I picked Top Dawg because... I'M THE TOP DAWG!!!!! LOL. Top Dawg just sounded cool. Actually one of my old online names was 1Dawg but I changed it to Top Dawg because some other user had 1Dawg. The "14" is my birthday added up(5/27 - 5+2+7=14).
I've liked De La Soul since they came out...but it waz 1996 when i really really got in2 them. It waz a point where i hated mainstream rap. It waz awful. Then, De La dropped their video in early summer 1996 for "Stakes Is High." They stressed everything i waz feeling.
AJ, I am definitely feelin' you on that. I've always liked De La but it was their '96 album, Stakes Is High, that really solidified me as a fan. '96 was a good year for true hip-hop. You had De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest(Beats, Rhymes & Life), and The Fugees(The Score) all dropping incredible albums. Hip-Hop really needed those albums because the whole "gangsta" style was at its lowest form.

51 Essential Albums For Your Collection
TopDawg14 replied to bigted's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I'm not really surprised that none of JJFP's albums got left off. I mean it's Vibe Magazine. They are not the authority on hip-hop. They are pretty much about commercialism and what's hot now. The Source used to be a magazine that was credible but not anymore. I'm a little tired of people making "lists" like they're the absolute authority on something. Like what you want to like. I haven't seen the list but I'm sure I would disagree with a lot of the albums they had on the list. -
