  1. I truly have no interest in this. I think the whole thing can be summed up like this...ugly rapper vs. ugly rapper...annoying voice vs. annoying voice...weak lyrics vs. weak lyrics. My ears are too busy for that nonsense.
  2. Visqo, I said good Usher...lol. Not average, forgettable, lyrically lacking, vocally not-impressive Usher. KIRK FRANKLIN - Hello Fear Hello Fear (2011) The new album is beautiful!
  3. USHER - Can U Help Me 8701 (2001) Usher, please make good music again.
  4. The only thing that comes to mind to me is MC Hammer's "The Thrill Is Gone" of his 1st album Let's Get It Started.
  5. RUN-DMC w/ NAS + PRODIGY - Queens Day Crown Royal (2001) This track has always been dope to me. Timeless beat, a laid back but cocky Hip-Hop joint.
  6. It's not that serious. He'll be fine. The picture of him has his hand wrapped. Of course he's in crazy pain but he'll be perfectly fine.
  7. Wyclef Jean has reportedly been shot at during a trip to his native Haiti. The former Fugees member was visiting the country to lend his support to presidential candidate Michael Martelly, during Martelly's preparations for the final round of elections against former First Lady Mirlande Manigat. A car he was riding in was attacked and shot at as he was driving through the capital of Port-au-Prince, accompanied by friend and fellow artist Busta Rhymes and the record executive Jimmy Rosemond. The three traveled to Haiti to take part in a concert to support Martelly's bid for presidency. The 'If I Were President: The Haitian Experience' creator's right hand was injured by a bullet, but it seems no other injuries were incurred by Wyclef or the other passengers. Wyclef's representatives confirmed the shooting and tweeted, "We have spoken to Wyclef, he is OK. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers." Wyclef's hand was struck by a bullet in Port-au-Prince around 11PM, his publicist said on Sunday. "He is doing well," Cindy Tanenbaum told CNN. No other details about the incident were revealed. However, a photo of Wyclef has since emerged online here, showing the entertainer lying on what appears to be a hospital bed, his right hand bandaged and his left hand resting over his face.
  8. NAUGHTY BY NATURE - Uptown Anthem Juice (1992) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRm3qCS5jDQ I can't stand Slim Thug...but I like that beat. That Planet Asia joint is flawless!
  9. It's amazing how different peoples' opinions can be on him. I found out about him right before The Slim Shady LP dropped. When I did, I loved it (still do). Eminem was crazy and refreshing all at once. I thought The Marshall Mathers LP was solid but not as good (tho' some of the production had been stepped up a notch). The Eminem Show was garbage in my opinion. At that point I only considering him an obnoxious gimmick. From that album until Relapse, I hardly liked any of his music. He was just annoying and didn't care about the music he put out. I thought Relapse was alright and a step in the right direction. I gave him a chance again with that album. I think Recovery is brilliant. It's dope. The humor is is back, the clever word play is back, plus he's more mature as an artist. I'm thrilled the album is doing well and anxious to see what he comes out with next. To be honest, I only read half of that article. It was nothing but an opinion. I care more about reading people's opinions on this board that some guy who posted is opinion on the the internet. The fact that he's focusing on Super Bowl commercials is just stupid to me. Who cares? Hip-Hop artists and rappers always do commercials and they usually get flack. Who cares? I don't. Let the music speak for itself.
  10. I can't see that. He was struggling to better himself. The Deathrow thing was both stupid and made sense. Once he got off the label, I think he would have relaxed and made the music he originally intended to. I think the "what if" only adds 2 his legacy.
  11. When I saw this news in the morning, my jaw dropped. I think we all knew his health was bad since he's been completely out of site for the last few years. He sang on Warren G's latest album. I guess it was a song that was recorded prior to his problems since the article I read said he was going to therapy for speech and from being partially paralyzed. He's definitely an originator when it comes to his style. Rest In Peace.
  12. If 2Pac hadn't passed, I don't think mainstream Hip-Hop would be anything like it is right now. I'm not trying to make it sound like the state of Hip-Hop weighed on his shoulders, but his death very well may be the biggest event in Hip-Hop music. He was trying to get away from Deathrow and he shared plans to go in a direction with his music that was more introspective and not as explicit. I have a feeling he was truly changing up his own game (who actually believe the Deathrow era was his real persona?) and that his influence would have affected the rest of the scene.
  13. The Realest surfaced after 2Pac was murdered. Deathrow signed him to be 2Pac part 2, put him on compilation albums, and tried to be a carbon copy of 2Pac. He's gotten tattoos just like 2Pac. How is this guy not one of rap's biggest walking jokes?
  14. DRS - Gangsta Lean Gangsta Lean (For My Homie) (1993) This was the jam! MC Hammer put these guys out and kept it on the low so they wouldn't catch the flack that he was catching at the time.
  15. I can't stand 2Pac-wannabe's. That's all they are. Their voice is kinda like his so they try to rhyme like him and talk about the same stuff he would. They try to get beats reminiscent of his. I consider them jokes and nothing more. It baffles my mind 2 think of where 2Pac's music would have gone. He was too unpredictable. I may be giving him too much credit with this next statement, but I swear, I believe commercial rap would have NEVER gotten half this bad if he was never murdered. He would have lyrically murdered these copy cats.
  16. I think it's really more of an after thought. "What if I would have said this, done this, etc..." "How would the course of events changed?" kind of thing.
  17. MARSHA AMBROSIUS - Let Me Go Late Nights, Early Mornings (2011) Her new solo album is amazing!! This is soul music. I hope Floetry reunites after their these solo albums slow down.
  18. This is an incredibly odd statement...lol.
  19. I can't remember if other people on this board like her. I've always thought she was one of the more interesting artists of recent years. Maybe going thru' this will help her get her life more on track. -------------------------------------------------------- Lily Allen Opens Up about Her Miscarriage and Eating Disorder Lily Allen is finally opening up for the first time about the tragic loss of her unborn baby last year. The Daily Mail is reporting that Allen has stayed out of the spotlight since her miscarriage in October, but she finally spoke about the heartbreak in the U.K.'s Channel 4 documentary 'Lily Allen: From Riches to Rags.' Allen and boyfriend Sam Cooper were left devastated when she suffered a miscarriage six months into her pregnancy, and her pain was evident during the TV show. Allen said, "It was a really long battle, and I think that kind of thing changes a person." Approximately one week after her miscarriage, Allen was rushed to a hospital requiring emergency treatment for septicaemia (blood poisoning). The 'Smile' singer also revealed she suffered from an eating disorder. "I used to vomit after meals. It's not something I'm proud of. But, I tell you what, a lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked and I'd be on the cover of every magazine." She continues, "I thought I looked good and it was great to be able to try on clothes and feel a million dollars. But I wasn't happy, I really wasn't. I would love to be the skinniest minniest person in the world but I can't do that without being unhappy -- I like food." Allen's final words on the subject were, "I'm a pop star, not a model. Don't make me feel s**t for not being really skinny and having an eating disorder." Allen got engaged to Cooper on Christmas Day last year in Bali. The couple have been dating for two years, and Cooper reportedly proposed on the balcony of the couple's hotel while the sun set over the Indian Ocean.
  20. That was dope! One of the best non-official music videos I've ever seen!
  21. I watched this a few months ago. I really wish I got to see them on their House Party Reunion tour but they didn't come to my area. They did a handful of shows last year: The Monique Show, VH1's karaoke show, etc. I love the fellas finally got things back together and that they aren't missing a beat. Hopefully there's more Kid 'N Play to come!
