Vanilla Ice-Media Destruction versus reality
JumpinJack AJ replied to rawad_m's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think his early stuff was wack. I hated him back in the day. But when I saw him on The Surreal Life and got to see him as a person and I liked him. He just seemed like a cool guy. I listened to a few of his songs but could never get into them much. However, before I did like him as a personality I got his 1st 2 albums as a joke. When I popped in the Mind Blowin' album there were actually 4 or 5 songs I liked...the production at least. This isn't one of them tho.' -

Has anyone seen Raz-B's videos over the years? Musically he has recorded a few good songs but his interviews and other stuff are just crazy. That guy is a mess. He can't figure out if he's a homosexual-easily-angered-psycho-victim or a laid back Christian. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marques Houston Granted Restraining Order Against Raz-B * Posted Nov 5th 2010 11:30AM by Latifah Muhammad Howard Wise/jpistudios.com Marques Houston is taking legal action against former B2K member Raz-B, and his persistent claims of molestation. A judge in Van Nuys, Calif. granted Houston a restraining order against Raz on Wednesday (Nov. 3) citing "emotional distress" after video of a heated phone confrontation between the two hit the Internet last month. In the video, Raz, born DeMario Thorton, consistently accuses Houston and former manager Chris Stokes of molesting him as a teenager. "About three weeks ago, DeMario Thornton, aka Raz B, released a video recording via the internet of a conversation that we had," Houston wrote in the paperwork. "DeMario is screaming at me, he has a deranged demeanor and is not acting like a reasonable person. After I hung up on DeMario, he continued recording himself and falsely accused me of molesting him." Raz has been ordered to stay at least 100 feet away from the 30-year-old, his job and his vehicle. Houston also argues that the video, which was subsequently picked up by various media outlets, caused him anguish, and also fears for his safety, theorizing that Raz may become violent should they come in contact with one another. Raz has posted a few different videos in which he claims to have been molested. He has also recorded videos of a phone conversation with another alleged victim of Stokes', and called out former band member Omarion, for allegedly knowing about the abuse, all while plugging his upcoming album release. A hearing on the case is scheduled for Nov. 22.

That reminds me of when "Full Blast" came out. There wasn't any news of new music but I found the 12" promo on ebay. I love the songs I have from that era. RICH CRONIN - Something's Gotta Give The Vault - Volume One (200?) I'm hyped to hear my boy has at least 2 albums of unreleased music coming in the future. I couldn't find a link for this song...or hardly any of his songs. But if anyone wants to hear a down and dirty interview, peep this...then follow the links to the other 4 parts.

Michael Jackson's New Album Out Dec. 14
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Caught in the Middle
Hmmmm...the beat on that sounds very 90's. That's not a bad thing...but I was hoping for something more new since they mentioned the 1st song being recorded in 2007. -
Jay-Z Disses Hammer, Hammer Responds!
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Jay's response in the article is completely arrogant. The wording he uses and the laughter isn't part of stating that he didn't intend on sparking tension. He's a fool...Hammer did the right thing. -
Check this ebay auction NOW...before it goes away...lol. I'm tight on money these days so I won't be bidding on this and I don't know if I'll have time to copy this and type it out. So check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/JAZZY-JEFF-FRESH-PRINCE-SMITH-Rap-Article-1988-/120615593724?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c153fe6fc

It's gonna take a lot more than that. His lyrics are about nothing. They are written on a 6 year old writing level. His voice is annoying. 99% of his beats are trash ("Mrs. Officer" is the only beat I ever liked). He's a joke. He's the sludge of talent pool. Other than being the "hot" rapper at the moment for millions of kids who know nothing about Hip-Hop, he's nothing.

Michael Jackson's New Album Out Dec. 14
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Caught in the Middle
I'm glad they are dropping this! I thought that DVD combo they were releasing was taking the place of the album that was slated for this month. I guess not. The album cover is very interesting but I don't like it as an album cover. If the songs are from recent years, the cover should reflect him more recently. Pix from 1979-1989 should be used on an album that reflects music from those years. The music is all that matters tho'...I can't wait! -
I have to admit, that is my greatest concern. "WILL THE FRESH PRINCE GUEST ON WILLOW'S ALBUM?" I'm not talking about skit. I'm talking about at least one rap.

FU-SCHNICKENS - Sum Dum Monkey Nervous Breakdown (1994) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXAmbcug_h4 Fu-Shnickens is still one of my favorite groups of all time. They never did a bad song. And Chip-Fu has one of the craziest flows Hip-Hop has ever seen.

Jay-Z Disses Hammer, Hammer Responds!
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think he's good at making money and being popular...but I don't know about his skills as a business man. Rocawear is still going but it's not booming. He ran DefJam into the ground which negatively effected popular music. To me he's just an average rapper who married Beyonce. -
BUSH CALLS KANYE WEST'S KATRINA COMMENT 'DISGUSTING'
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
Giving Bill Clinton props disgusts me. He just happened 2 be the President at a time when things were going smoother. George Bush Sr. actually had worked on improving the economy and that happened at the end of his term. Bill Clinton walked into an improving economy and gets the credit. I can't judge Bush's character but I believe he was just the President at the wrong time. Crap when down, things got bad, and he can't take ownership for alot that happened. I agree with Ted that since his presidency is over, Bush has been seen in a more accurate light since people around accusing him of anything. And while I don't follow politics too closely, Obama hasn't really done anything amazing other than change a few things that didn't need changed. I bow out of politics at this point. But I'll never get tired of saying Kanye is an idiotic douche. -
Jay-Z Disses Hammer, Hammer Responds!
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I'm glad Jay-Z actually gives him props in this book. But I'm also glad Hammer did this track. And I read the news about Jay-Z talking politics...which is ridiculous. He's just trying to take a page out of The Fresh Prince Book of Hip-Hop. The difference, FP has made comments about the state of the world that show he's done his homework. FP also carries himself in a way that has him respected. Jay-Z simply can't be taken seriously at all at this point. ------------------------------------------ Jay-Z Says Hammer Will Be 'Embarrassed' When His Book Comes Out Jay-Z isn't taking MC Hammer's dis video 'Better Run Run' too seriously. The 'U Can't Touch This' rapper slams Jay-Z in the recent video, accusing him of being an impostor who swiped his "swagger." The video was in response to Jay-Z's verse in a new Kanye West song, 'So Appalled,' where he referred to Hammer's notorious money troubles during the '90s. But Jay-Z sounded incredulous in a British radio interview (via the NY Daily News). "I didn't know that wasn't on the table for discussion." He also says that he only has nice things to say about the legend and does so in his book 'Decoded.' "He's going to be embarrassed, I said some really great things about him in the book ... It is what it is. He took it the wrong way." 'Decoded' hits stores Nov. 16. Earlier in the week, Jay-Z made his political aspirations know, saying, "Give me a chance, maybe in eight years, I'll be the president." -
MARIO ARRESTED FOR BEATING UP HIS MOM
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
Looks like Mario is cleared. This relieves me because I've been a fan of him since he came out. I remember watching a reality special on MTV a few years ago and it dealt with him trying to help his mom get over her addiction. When I read the article about this the 1st time it made it sound like she was over her addiction which is why I considered it possibly true...but otherwise thought drugs would have been involved. Seeing him taking care of his mom and not giving up on her on that reality documentary made this hard to accept. I'm glad he's in the clear and hopefully she can finally break this addiction. -------------------------------------------------- Mother of 'Dancing' Star Mario Drops Assault Claim By PopEater / Wire Services Posted Nov 4th 2010 08:52AM Mario Prosecutors have dropped misdemeanor assault charges against R&B singer and former 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant Mario. The artist, whose full name is Mario Barrett, had been charged with second-degree assault for allegedly shoving his mother into a wall at their Baltimore home. But a spokesman for the Baltimore state's attorney's office says Mario's mother, Shawntia Hardaway, changed her story on the witness stand Tuesday. Hardaway said she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she called police on Oct. 1 and that her son never laid a hand on her. Mario's attorney, Billy Murphy, says it was clear from the beginning that his client never struck his mother and that Mario "remains committed to helping his mother battle her addiction." Mario was arrested in October and charged with one count of second-degree assault and later released after he posted a $50,000 bond. Hardaway was crying when police arrived at her apartment and said her son caused her "minor pain." According to the police report, Mario pushed her "eight feet into a living room wall, where [she] hit her head on the wall." -
AALIYAH - If Your Girl Only Knew One In A Million (1996) Such a great time for R-N-B music. Aaliyah was perfect. Timbaland was in his prime. Current singers need to take notes.

I came across this and found it interesting. Kanye's ignorant comment landed him on the lips of a US President as he described the situation "disgusting." The article had a link 2 the video. I watched it for the 1st time since it happened and was reminded of just how dumb Kanye West is. This idiot just can't filter the idiotic things things that come up in his 5 year old mindstate. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bush: Kanye West Katrina Comment 'Disgusting' Lisa Flam Contributor AOL News (Nov. 3) -- George W. Bush says one of the "most disgusting moments" of his presidency came when Kanye West said Bush didn't care about black people in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. "He called me a racist," the former president told NBC News for the "Matt Lauer Reports" program that will air Monday night, according to excerpts released by the network. "And I didn't appreciate it then. I don't appreciate it now," Bush, 64, told Lauer. "It's one thing to say, 'I don't appreciate the way he's handled his business.' It's another thing to say, 'This man's a racist.' I resent it. It's not true. And it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency." Bush was responding to West's comment during a live telethon in the wake of the devastating storm that struck Louisiana and Mississippi in 2005. "George Bush doesn't care about black people," said the 33-year-old black hip-hop artist. Lauer read from Bush's soon-to-be-released book, "Decision Points": "I faced a lot of criticism as president. I didn't like hearing people claim that I lied about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction or cut taxes to benefit the rich. But the suggestion that I was racist because of the response to Katrina represented an all-time low." "Yeah. I still feel that way as you read those words," Bush said. "I felt 'em when I heard 'em, felt 'em when I wrote 'em, and I felt 'em when I'm listening to 'em. Lauer notes that Bush told his wife, Laura, at the time that it was the worst moment of his presidency. "Yes," Bush said. "My record was strong, I felt, when it came to race relations and giving people a chance. And it was a disgusting moment." President George W. Bush tours Biloxi after Hurrican Katrina Susan Walsh, AP President George W. Bush tours a devastated neighborhood in Biloxi, Miss., with Kim Bassier, left, and her sister Bronwynne Bassier on Sept. 2, 2005. Lauer says to Bush: "You're not saying that the worst moment in your presidency was watching the misery in Louisiana. You're saying it was when someone insulted you because of that." "No, and I also make it clear that the misery in Louisiana affected me deeply as well," Bush responds. "There's a lot of tough moments in the book. And it was a disgusting moment, pure and simple." In another passage from the book, according to The New York Times, Bush wrote that he considered dropping Dick Cheney from his 2004 re-election bid to dispel the vice president's image as the "Darth Vader" of the White House and to "demonstrate that I was in charge." The book is due out next week, but the Times obtained a copy on Tuesday.

Mayer Hawthorne - No Strings (Jazzy Jeff remix)
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
NICE! Thanx! -
I've seen that done before and it seemed obvious to me. I still don't think she did but watching the performance on YouTube isn't gonna give me the quality I need to make a proper judgment.

Jay-Z Disses Hammer, Hammer Responds!
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
This is freakin' ill....I can't help but dance in my seat. I don't think I ever grooved to a diss track before. Ha ha. Hammer does have swag tho.' Keep in mind he went at Eminem on "Full Blast." I like that the lyrics come of pretty vague unless u know who he's talking about. Hopefully the attention he's getting from this whole thing will lead to MC Hammer getting the mainstream attention he's deserved. Love him or hate him, it would be one of Hip-Hop's greatest comebacks. -
