Michael Jackson's Posthumous Album Coming in November Sony Music is gearing up to release the first Michael Jackson posthumous music collection in November. Rolling Stone confirms that the label will debut a collection of 10 previously unreleased tracks from Jackson's vault. A rep for the Jackson estate revealed that the late pop star left behind over 100 songs that were recorded during the 80s, in addition to more recent collaborations with artists including Ne-Yo, will.i.am and Akon. Hip-hop producer Rodney Jerkins -- who worked with Jackson on the 2001 single 'You Rock My World' -- also recently announced plans to release an album filled with unreleased MJ material. "I worked with Michael for years," Jerkins said. "It was definitely a goal of mine as a kid." Jerkins has not given a release date for his project, but Sony has remained firm on their November mark. Video game developer Ubisoft will also debut a new dance-karaoke game featuring Jackson's music, which coincides with the album release. 'Michael Jackson: The Video Game,' will give gamers the chance to sing-a-long with hit songs like 'Beat It' and 'Billie Jean,' while trying to imitate MJ's signature dance moves. The upcoming Jackson album will be the first in Sony's 10-project, $250 million deal that will eventually include a DVD collection and new greatest hits compilations. ---------------------------------------------------------------- MC Hammer Launches MMA Management Company MC Hammer, the rapper known worldwide for his gold parachute pants, has revealed he's making a foray into the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Blige made HSN history over the weekend with the debut of her new fragrance My Life. The multi-platinum singer sold 50,000 bottles, making it HSN's fastest selling and most popular fragrance to date. Not only did Blige's My Life perfume move a record-breaking amount of units, it also pulled in a handsome amount of revenue. Retailing at $55 a bottle, the fragrance grossed an estimated $2.7 million dollars. Diddy previously held the record with his I Am King scent for the most fragrance sales ever on HSN, but the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul took the crown on Saturday (July 31), out-selling him in sales and revenue. In addition to selling the perfume as a new business venture, Blige's FFAWN (Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now) organization also benefited from the sales of My Life. A portion of the proceeds ($1 per bottle) went to FFAWN, netting $50,000 for the non-profit. Excited by her success, Mary took to Twitter to express her gratitude. "Fam!! We did it!! We broke records with My Life fragrance on HSN! And made history once again!!! 50K sold!!!" she wrote. The singer went on to express her gratitude for all those backing her efforts. "Thank you so much!!!!!!! What an amazing support system!!!! You guys are the best!!!!!!... You saved so many lives and dreams tonight with your purchase!!! So many women will be getting the second chance they deserve!!! FFAWN...Thank You HSN for the love and support you showed me and my fam!!!!!! We really appreciate it!!!!!!" My Life is Mary J. Blige's first signature scent with the Carol's Daughter beauty line. The singer says the fragrance, which took her seven months to create, is "a reflection of her personality," and is for women "who love tuberose, jasmine [and] fruit." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Aaron Hall Says The-Dream Needs to 'Lose Weight' Aaron Hall hasn't released any new material in over a decade, but he recently took time to comment on two artists that have risen to fame and have had much success in the R&B world. In an interview with carltonjordan.com, the former lead singer from the 90's group Guy made some entertaining comments about singers The-Dream and Trey Songz. "Dream is a good writer, but he's gotta lose weight," Hall said. "I'm just going to be straight up... He's got to lose weight... And all that stuff you did with your ex-wife [Christina Milian] is wrong, so you ain't the KING of nothing. As far as Trey Songz, I'm glad he got R. Kelly by the head-lock, copying his style, but the king of R&B - can't nobody touch my vocals..." Hear more of Aaron Hall's comments after the jump. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marsha Ambrosius Returns with Debut Solo Album Former Floetry member Marsha Ambrosius has remained in the spotlight over the years, performing and collaborating on music despite the split with her groupmate Natalie Stewart in 2007. Now, the British songstress is officially making her debut as a one-woman show with the release of her first solo album, 'Late Nights & Early Mornings.' Ambrosius, who was once signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment, joined forces with J Records in 2009 and landed a solo deal. As part of her union with the label, her first project, 'Late Nights & Early Mornings,' is set for release on October 26. Before then, listeners can get acquainted with 'Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)'-- the first single off the six-time Grammy nominee's forthcoming effort. The song, produced by Canei Finch, discusses the truths surrounding a relationship gone awry. According to Marsha, though both parties should act as adults, she's admitting to taking the low road on the track because of her broken heart. "[The song is] the reality of a bad break up," she reveals. "We wanna be decent human beings and say the right thing, you know, 'I wish you well.' But this is 'Everything that could go wrong for him I want it to because my ego is bruised and I'm acting out.'" 'Late Nights & Early Mornings' is set to showcase Ambrosius' skillfull songwriting capabilities as well as the vibrant, soul-baring voice that has garnered her a myriad of fans. Collaborations from the likes of Alicia Keys, Just Blaze and Dre & Vidal round out the opus. With three Floetry albums ('Floetic,' 'Floacism,' 'Flo'Ology') and several solo mixtapes ('Neo Soul is Dead,' 'Yours Truly,' 'Yours Sincerely') under her belt, the singer has also been tapped by the Centric television network, for their new project, Centric Selects--a campaign which highlights the next generation of R&B artists. Marsha will be featured on the site in exclusive interviews, performance footage and photos starting today (August 2). --------------------------------------------------------- Chamillionaire Talks Digital Marketing with TechCrunch Prior to last week, it wasn't really a thing for rappers to visit the technology world in Silicon Valley, but now that Kanye West started his official comeback tour with appearances at the headquarters of both Facebook and Twitter, it's quickly becoming all the rage. Last Friday, rapper Chamillionaire attended TechCrunch's Social Currency CrunchUp -- a tech conference that explores the intersection of tastemakers in the digital and real worlds. The Houston native sat down with reporter Mike Arrington to discuss how he uses the Internet and other digital technology such as smartphones to his advantage. Chamillionaire is considered an early adopter of social networking in hip-hop. He was one of the first to use his own website for fresh content and has been a longtime user of platforms such as Twitter to communicate with fans. When asked about the advantages of the digital age after his panel, Cha had a lot to say. "Everything," he said. "Access to people through social networks. We don't build these social networks, we don't blog on TechCrunch. People here are like what would a rapper care about TechCrunch for? It's crazy, it's about distribution of information. It's just getting information to people, that's just what major labels are. They've got companies that distribute for us now so it's like cutting the record labels out - I'm doing you a favor, you're doing me a favor and I'm getting to where I need to get to." Head over to TechCrunch for the full video interview and some excellent pictures of Chamillionaire posing with his BlackBerry collection.

Good article! Thanx for posting. One thing is for sure tho'....NO NEED FOR A MOVIE. As much as a respect James Avery, that's just an awful idea. A reunion show would be great tho.' To see the cast joking, maybe doing some scripted stuff, telling stories, showing clips, bloopers, etc. I think alot of people would love that. If it wouldn't tarnish the legacy of the show, it would be funny to see a special where they have half of the cast dealing with "Will's son" being played by Jaden...lol.

BLACK EYED PEAS' SONG EARNS SIX MILLION DOWNLOADS
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
As we all know, what's popular has nothing 2 do with quality. Today's music scene says it all. Behind The Front and Bridging The Gap will be two of my favorite albums for the rest of my life. The E.N.D. will get a spin from time to time. The Peas are crazy talented and very creative but as they dip further into pop music, their music credibility is slipping. I believe they'd be just as popular without going futuristic dance-pop on us. "I've Got A Feeling" is a dope song...and the album has some other highlights. But this album can't hold a candle to their past stuff. -
U guys got me in the mood for Jennifer Lopez...lol. She's always been one of my favorite artists. I just love her music. JENNIFER LOPEZ - Alive J 2 The L-O (2002)

WYCLEF'S PRESIDENTIAL BID CONFIRMED
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
I'm really not into politics so I don't know what kind of opinion to have. He is very intelligent and has educated himself over the years. What kind of history does Haiti have when it comes to government? I don't know that he would do a bad job. It's a very interesting idea. -
BLACK EYED PEAS' SONG EARNS SIX MILLION DOWNLOADS
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
I'm hoping their new album is nothing like that last. I think their albums have dropped in quality since Behind The Front (maybe Monkey Business is better than Elephunk tho'). I'm done with this poppy dance crap with auto-tune. I love BEP but it was hard for me to stomach most of their last album. -
Black Eyed Peas' Song Earns Six Million Digital Downloads The Black Eyed Peas hit another milestone in their careers this week when their single, 'I Gotta Feeling,' became the first song in history to reach the six million digital download mark. The single, from their 2009 album, 'The E.N.D.' remained at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 14 weeks in a row, stealing the top spot from their previous single, 'Boom Boom Pow.' The song now holds the title of best-selling digital download of all time. "We came out in '98 and our career, if you would look at it on a chart, there's no dips in it," will.i.am. told the AP in a phone interview on Thursday (July 29). "For our career to still be healthy and vibrant and doing things like 6 million downloads, it's pretty significant." The Peas celebrated their achievement on ABC's 'Good Morning America' on Friday, July 30, where they performed the hit single and announced the title of their upcoming album. 'The Beginning' is tentatively slated to drop at the end of 2010. "It symbolizes growth, new beginnings and starts, fresh new perspective," will.i.am explained.

Wyclef's Presidential Bid Confirmed by Source According to reports, Wyclef Jean has confirmed that he will run for president of Haiti in this year's election. The 37-year-old rapper/activist was integral in the fund-raising after his home country's tragic earthquake earlier this year, raising over $10 million via his Yele Haiti foundation, and inspiring countless artists to support the country's cause. Wyclef was rumored to be running for office earlier this week, but sources close to him claim that he will be making his official announcement on August 5. The former Fugees member was born in Haiti in 1972, and immigrated to Brooklyn at the age of 9, before settling in northern New Jersey, where he formed his revered group with Lauryn Hill and Praz. He has sold millions of records, both as a solo artist and with his former group, and has collaborated with everyone from Shakira and Santana to Pharoahe Monch. The Haitian election will take place on November 28, and it is predicted that 'Clef will win voting by a landslide, due to his wild popularity and influence in his home country. "I think if Wyclef is allowed to run he will have a straight victory," former presidential candidate Himmler Rebu told Reuters. Wyclef also has support from his uncle, Raymond Alcide Joseph, who has been Haiti's ambassador to the U.S. since 2005, and worked with his nephew to raise funds for victims of the earthquake. Wyclef Jean for President!

MARKY MARK GETS HIS HOLLYWOOD STAR
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
I think he's a good actor. I just don't think he's always chose the best movies or roles. I've never seen video footage of FP getting his star. That was funny! -
Ahh...the 1st one has been removed. I remember the 3rd one but I don't think it was from 1994. I think I saw that one back in the day and would have noticed her in it. Why would she do a commercial like that at that time in her career? Is someone going to post that Michael Jackson commercial where a kid Alfonso Ribeiro is dancing with him.

That's awesome. I've been waiting to him to come to Maryland (or close by) for awhile now. I heard he was in Pittsburgh a few months ago but my friend didn't know about it until the day of the event. It'll happen soon enough tho.' Love the new pix.

Mark Wahlberg Brings Family to Hollywood Star Unveiling By PopEater Staff Posted Jul 30th 2010 07:55AM Mark Wahlberg Brings Family to Hollywood Star Unveiling Mark Wahlberg landed his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, and brought his wife, model Rhea Durham, and four children with him to celebrate. Photos showed Wahlberg looking dapper and proud during the momentous occasion. "I'm so happy my kids are sitting through this," Wahlberg said, according to the BBC. "When I heard I was getting this star, I felt like it was a practical joke." The 39-year-old actor's children, from left to right, are Ella Rae, Grace Margaret, Brendan Joseph and Michael. "I'm the youngest of nine, so the more the merrier," the 'Boogie Nights' star said on 'Ellen' in January, speaking of his sizable brood. Wahlberg made his big-screen debut in 1993. Before that, he was a rapper and went by Marky Mark. His biggest box office successes have been Tim Burton's 2001 'Planet of the Apes' remake and 2000's 'The Perfect Storm' -- both films raked in more than $180 million. He received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his turn in Martin Scorsese's 2006 hit 'The Departed,' which took home four trophies, including Best Director and Best Picture. Wahlberg, who appeared at the MTV Movie Awards in June, stars in 'The Other Guys' with Will Ferrell, out August 6.

Hmmmm....I won't be using this list to make any mixtapes...lol. I like 17 song off of the list. But out of that, probably 10 of them actually came out in the Spring or Fall. It's weird how forgettable alot of those songs are. -
DMX EXPLAINS NEW JAIL SENTENCE
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
Ha...yeah. For the past 10 years I've been reading articles like this. And with every album release, he says the albums are more like his 1st...and they just aren't. I can accept that he's not gonna do another It's Dark and Hell Is Hot...but his production just hasn't been consistent in a long time. -
JODECI - Cry For You Diary of A Mad Band (1993) The video isn't the actual song...but R-N-B fans need 2 check it. It has K-Ci and Sisqo "battling" live. Along with Jodeci, Dru Hill, H-Town, and Ginuwine there. That show had to be dope. On a related note, H-Town has new music out as a duo and there new video features K-Ci and the track is produced by DeVante. 90's R-N-B may be on sort of comeback.

NONCHOLANT - 5 O'Clock Until The Day (1996) Yeah, Nicky Minaj is straight trash. She is strictly a pop star who raps. No Hip-Hop involved in what she's doing.

This is actually the funniest things I've read in forever. Regardless of the writers hate for Fresh Prince, it's hilarious. In fact, I don't know if the writer even hates the Prince. Think about it, it mentioned nearly all of this albums and lots of his songs...singles and album tracks. Any one who would take this seriously is a total idiot. It's clearly for comical purposes. The Fresh Prince vs. Mike Tyson beef, getting beat down on the "Too Damn Hype" video shoot (lol), the police department getting JJ+FP "Summertime" CD singles. This is hilarious. Thanx for posting. And yes, I am insulting anyone who would take this article seriously.

It looks like he's getting things back on track... ----------------------------------------------------------- DMX Explains New Jail Sentence Peter Kramer, AP On Monday, troubled rapper DMX turned himself in to Los Angeles Metropolitan Court for a reckless driving charge he incurred back in 2002. "What's going on today is that I'm going to turn myself in," X said in a taped interview before appearing in court. "Me and my crew, we came to the conclusion that would be best. It was something that happened years ago, a driving infraction." In the interview, the Yonkers emcee explained that his decision to turn himself in is a positive step towards rehabilitation. "It's one of the first steps in regaining everything I lost," he continued. Though DMX has a long history of legal troubles and drug abuse, he said that his "relationship with God" has helped him to get back on his feet. "My relationship with God has gotten so much stronger," he explained. "He's always had his hand on me. He always guided me. I didn't always go where he wanted me to go. But he always had me. Now that I'm actually listening and being obedient, life is so much better." According to his lawyer, X is expected to serve a maximum of 90 days, as part of his plea bargain
