  1. DMX - X Gonna Give It To Ya Cradle 2 The Grave Soundtrack (2003)
  2. LOL...the movie's biggest skeptic has changed his story! I still haven't seen it. Hopefully I will soon.
  3. Jay-Z himself did it. I mean, he called them sequels when the production, sound, and overall vibe was no where near the level of the original. I hate when artists do "sequel" albums...unless they are released shortly after and continue what the 1st one started. Otherwise, it's just stupid. And I'm with Ted. When it comes to what's popular, Jay-Z is usually the best (which isn't the biggest compliment...but not a diss either). But when it comes to true school emcees like LL Cool J and Common Sense, Jay-Z is much further down the food chain.
  4. Even then, LL will be a more consistent and more talented artist...plus he'll look 10 years younger than Jay-Z. He should just NEVER talk like that...lol.
  5. NICE & SMOOTH - Return of The Hip-Hop Freaks Jewel of The Nile (1994) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n0PzXjgUIg
  6. NICE & SMOOTH - Old To The New Jewel of The Nile (1994) Man, I remember watching this the night it premiered on Yo! MTV Raps. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED 2 HIP-HOP!?!?
  7. I don't take it as a diss. Since I have to read what he said and not HEAR what he said, it's hard to take it in the right context. Jay-Z has no room to attempt to diss LL so I hope that wasn't his intention. I picked up a used copy of Blueprint 3 the other week and I think it's awful. I probably only like 3 songs off the album. And I wanted this album to be good. WHY CALL IT BLUEPRINT 3 WHEN IT'S NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL (that goes the same for Blueprint 2). When it comes to longevity, LL Cool J is the poster boy. Why he has evolved over his career, he's just as dope today as he ever was. If Jay-Z was dissing LL, all I can say is "Eat 'em up, L."
  8. His voice is about the same as it has been for the past 10 years. It's such a shame that someone who once had one of the strongest, most demanding voices in Hip-Hop now has one of the weakest. For a second a long time fan might think "Just leave the mic alone why u are on a high note"....but I actually admire that he's adjusted and that he's still aggressively making music. DMC is a legend. I'm just thankful his still around and doing his thing. He looks healthy and happy in that video. The vibe of the song isn't totally my flavor but I know his style has stretched since retiring RUN DMC. I'm looking forward to the straight Hip-Hop tracks off the new record. I wonder if Run is still working on his 2nd solo album or that album he was doing with Kid Rock.
  9. RAKIM - Holy Are You The Seventh Seal (2009) Way better than anything 50 Cent and Lil' Wayne could ever dream off recording.
  10. To be honest, I think most of today's rappers are selfish, small-minded individuals. Do they REALLY care about other people? I want the artists I like to have heart. To care about others as they care about themselves. Whatever happened to people being good people? I'm not trying 2 get off topic, but dare I ask how many successful commercial rappers are actually good people? This goes beyond music. Does anyone else feel like we live in an age where's it's acceptable to be selfish, immature, mean, hateful, and straight WRONG? I doubt I'll ever respect Drake as artist but I'd like to think he's a good guy and that an action like this isn't a publicity stunt.
  11. DIGITAL UNDERGROUND - Return of The Crazy One The Body Hat Syndrome (1993)
  12. I must say, I wasn't too excited about the idea of this when we 1st heard it. I talked to someone (who I don't even know) who saw the movie (who was at least my age) and she said she loved the movie...maybe even more than the original!! Congratz 2 Jaden and crew. I think I'm gonna see this in the theaters.
  13. ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT - Greener Strong (2010) Music with a message...
  14. I don't like Drake's music at all. But I guess I like that he's standing up for something. Hip-Hop used to be about expressing yourself and making a change. If you are a person who cares about the environment, can't u take one of the songs u've got on your album about ho's, drugs, and guns 2 talk about stuff like this that actually matters? That's what a little something I call "keepin' it real." By the way, if u wanna hear real artists practice and preach, check Arrested Developments song/video "Greener."
  15. DJ JAZZY JEFF + PHIL NASH - Closer The Changemakers (2010) This is so dope!
  16. I've watched little bits and pieces of it. I didn't care to see it that much. Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland were probably who I wanted 2 see the most and I haven't seen their parts yet. I saw 2 Live Crew's part. The whole dirty south theme was just stupid. From the parts I did see, they were more tolerable than I expected but still a waste of an honor show. I think VH-1 shot themselves in the foot this time and it's showing.
  17. I've seen this. I like that they are getting the word out early. Just seeing him in the suit was nice.
  18. I have a feeling there's a bit of a buzz going on in the Hip-Hop world that FP is coming back. I have no proof, but I noticed that Darren "Limitless" Henson dropped the 'Prince a line on his face book staying that he has some "heaters" for him...and Jaden and Willow. For those that don't know, Darren Henson was formally with A Touch of Jazz and was one of the producers of "So Fresh," "No More," and "The Rain." In my opinion, these are all in my personal top 10 or top 15 trax recorded during his "solo" career. The word must be getting out that he's coming back and it's good 2 hear that someone on the level of Darren is anxious to be a part of it. I can't say I'm too excited for any project from Jaden or Willow, but it sounds like music projects are starting to line up. This is getting good!!!
  19. Excellent interview. To me, Gang Starr was always a hard group to really get to know outside of their music. This interview just showed another side of them to me....which is dope.
  20. The Space Jam soundtrack is easily in my top 5 favorite soundtracks of all time. It is, in a word, FLAWLESS. Here's my favorite basketball jam... BELL BIV DEVOE - Above The Rim Hootie Mack (1993)
  21. I remember when I joined this forum years ago. I wasn't a fan of DJ Jazzy Jeff + Fresh Prince at all. I just joined so I could ask computer related ?uestions on the off topic board. :spam_smilie:
  22. LL COOL J - Strictly Business Strictly Business Soundtrack (1991) I wanted this soundtrack back in 1991...and finally got it last week....lol. "New" music from LL Cool J, Heavy D + The Boyz, Jodeci, etc...
  23. I've heard some of that Soul Intent. For years I thought Eminem's 1st stuff was recorded in the mid-90's...then I heard this early 90's stuff. He definitely fit in with the times...tho' the Jesus Christ Superstar sample was crazy. I think I found pop jam for the summer... KATY PERRY + SNOOP DOGG - California Girls (Whatever her upcoming album is) (2010) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqMf3W7Y2WI&feature=fvst
  24. "Gangsta's Paradise," Bone's "1st of The Month" and MJ's "You Are Not Alone" were my favorite songs of that summer. And Janet's "All For You" era was flawless. It's probably my 2nd favorite album by her. My 1st would be janet. featuring my favorite song by her..."Again." G-WIZ - Dirty Luv (R&B Remix) Dirty Luv (Cassette Maxi-Single) (1995) G-Wiz has always been one of my favorite groups. Hardly anyone remembers them.
  25. Man, I STILL haven't gotten that book. I know I will one day. And yes, I know he give FP his props.
