  1. I knew the day was gonna come around!!! They were probably also waiting for a new Will Smith movie 2 come out to piggy back on the hype and realized they couldn't wait any longer. This is good news! I'm definitely happy 2 hear this....right around my birthday (and alot of other people's on the board's birthday!!
  2. Yes, The Fugees were one of FP's main inspirations to focus on releasing new music back in 96 and 97. Him and Wyclef were having a ball when they were freestyling and performing "Rapper's Delight." It was the most excited and "at home" that I've seen the 'Prince in awhile. I can see good things coming from this. Welcome 2 the board, Fatonita!!
  3. And the downward spiral continues. Don't get me wrong, I think it be dope to say "The Fresh Prince is the president" but I just want music and for him to handle his career like he did a few years ago.
  4. Sounds like a good time 2 bring up the Cause on Facebook. It's all but dead.
  5. Props for this! I love it...especially the last line.
  6. I love this. This is one of of my top 3 fav Common Sense songs. I was just listening 2 it the other day. THE BEAT IS DOPE!!!
  7. I had this incredibly long reply but the power went out and I certainly don't have the time to type it out again. But the overall point I wanted 2 share is that MC Hammer was never a "single" rapper. He definitely was about full albums. His 1st was loaded with singles. Let's Get It Started and Turm This Mutha Out were HUGE. They Put Me In The Mix and Ring 'Em are west coast Hip-Hop classics. Not 2 mention The Thrill Is Gone and Feel My Power. Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em had a TONS of hits...U Can't Touch This, Here Comes The Hammer, Pray, Have U Seen Her, Dancin' Machine, and Help The Children. Too Legit To Quit had 2 Legit 2 Quit, Addam's Groove, This Is The Way We Roll, Do Not Pass Me By, Good To Go, and Gaining Momentum. Even with The Funky Headhunter he had It's All Good, Pumps And A Bump, and Don't Stop. Each album had it's own vibe. I have always believed in the album. A handful of songs created in a certain time frame...all different, but created together for one purpose. A team of producers, the thank u's, the credits, that photography and art...it's all part of the album. Look at today's commercial rappers. They don't even last for an album. That have one hit single that sometimes is followed by another single or 2 that might get a little attention only for piggy backing their 1st single. But after that, they are gone. Young Joc. Hurricain Chris. J-Kwon. Where are these guys? Gone. Think about Big Willie Style. That album screams Fresh Prince for 1997-1998. To fans like us, the pictures from that era, the sound of the album, etc. That stuff is iconic in our minds because FP works on making good albums...not hit singles. That's why Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em and Big Willie Style sold over 10 million albums and every Hip-Hop fan knows about them...even if they don't like Fresh Prince or MC Hammer.
  8. I saw an MTV News article on it and FP wasn't mentioned. I wanted to watch it but I got side tracked...plus I had a feeling he wasn't going to be shown after seeing the article. I wonder if something came up or if he just didn't do anything that was taped. Maybe he just went out to support the cause. U think they'd get him on camera if they could though.
  9. Very cool! I love that he tries to participate in things like this. Especially cuz all of the other FP news is kinda boring at the moment.
  10. MC Hammer will aways be one of my favorite emcees. He flow might have been rough from time to time. In recent years he might choose some ?uestionable production, but his easily one of the smartest, down to earth, and nices guys in Hip-Hop. His energy, showmanship, and lyrics are all his own. Thanks for posting this interview.
  11. I don't like the way he's talking like he's done with music. With that attitude from him and the 'Prince, Hip-Hop is dead. I know this isn't the end of music either of them. I gotta be honest, I've never watched his show and only kinda have an intrest 2 see it. If i knew when and on what network it aired, i'd check it out.
  12. Is anyone else a little creeped out that grown men (mostly Wayne' s side) of making a big deal of money as if it were the most imporant thing in life? Is it disturbing that someone (Birdman) is saying Lil' Wayne is "lyrical" as in his rhymes are actually good. As in, he can speak like he has an education beyond 2nd grade. As in, u can understand this under pronounced jibberish.
  13. :lookaround: Tim's lost it.
  14. This guy does have regular music. It's things like this that get attention put on their regular music. I've seen so many people that know nothing about Hip-Hop posting this video on their Facebooks. I just found out that this guy's kid comes into my studio for pictures...ha ha.
  15. Without Teddy Pendergrass, R-N-B would have never evolved to what it has (ignoring the recent "Radio Ready" version of R-N-B). I have a few of his CD's. Definitely one of the best that ever did it. I heard him doing an interview on the radio just last Spring. R.I.P.
  16. Thanks for that Jazzy, Kwame, Skillz video. That was dope. The news about House Party isn't anything new though. It's been known for awhile that it was originally for JJ+FP. I'd love to see a JJ+FP version of House Party. I consider them classics tho' and it's hard to imagin them without Kid 'N Play tho.'
  17. I grew up watching The A-Team when I was really little. Mr. T is the man. This trailor, in my opinion, looks like a huge load of crap. Even worse that G.I. Joe (which I still haven't seen...if I ever will). I pity the fool who actually sees this.
  18. Nice work! This is ill!!! I don't think I've heard a mixtape with a tracklisting this good in....forever.
  19. Ugh, Mariah, u finally get an award for your acting (attempting to make people forget Glitter) and you go on to make a fool of yourself on stage... As a Mariah fan I'm a bit embarassed.
  20. I don't love it, but i really like it. It's a good mix of old and new.
  21. I think "Ghosts" was his best music video ever. I was also a bit frustrated that they waited for him 2 pass away before doing it, but I guess isn't better than never.
  22. Yeah, it's amazing that so many people do it. There literaly is no positive side to it. It makes you waste 100's of dollars a year. It makes u smell awful. It makes your hourse, car, and all your stuff stink. It can give u all kinds of health problems that lead to a long, slow, painful, pathetic death. And it makes you look old/unhealthy. I have a co-worker who is just a year older than me. I think she looks young but maybe that's because I know her. I had a customer who was about 45 or 50 say that "the girl who was about my age was helping me..." and when I realized who he was talking about, it made me realize how that's effected the way she looks (or should look). P!nk's voice has gotten raspier over the years. She has looked more and more rough as well. Look at the pix from her 1999-2003ish stuff and look at her now. Hopefully quitting will restore some of that youth and preserve her voice because she has the kind of talent that will stand the test of time.
