  1. DOCTOR DRE + ED LOVER feat. T-MONEY - Back Up Off Me Back Up Off Me! (1994) Man, this one was fun back in the day.
  2. Best Rap Solo Performance Beautiful Eminem Track from: Relapse [Aftermath/Interscope Records] This song is dope. From the 1st listen, this was easily one of my top 3 favorites off the album and still is. I was happy 2 hear it was gonna be the 2nd single. D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune) Jay-Z [Roc Nation] I'm not a huge Jay-Z fan. I liked when he was new and then I liked a handful of singles. It wasn't until Kingdom Come that I started really liking him more. When I saw him performe this song on TV I thought it was dope. I don't want it 2 win, but i like it alot. Casa Bey Mos Def Track from: The Ecstatic [Downtown Records] I don't remember this getting mainstream success but the song is dope. I'd like this to win or "Beautiful." Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Ego Beyoncé & Kanye West [Music World Music/Columbia] This song is average at best. I do like it. Average at best means it was better than most of the I Am...Sasha Fierce album. Knock You Down Keri Hilson, Kanye West & Ne-Yo Track from: In A Perfect World... [MMG/Zone 4/Interscope Records] Totally mainstream danceable R-N-B pop...but I like this song. Run This Town Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West [Roc Nation] I like Rihanna's part. It gives energy over top the dope beat. I'm On A Boat The Lonely Island & T-Pain Track from: Incredibad [universal Republic Records] Are they serious? Are they freaking serious? Dead And Gone T.I. & Justin Timberlake Track from: Paper Trail [Grand Hustle/Atlantic] Like JT's part...like the beat...like the message...but not T.I. or his delivery or flow. Best Rap Song Dead And Gone C. Harris, R. Tadross & J. Timberlake, songwriters (T.I. & Justin Timberlake) Track from: Paper Trail [Grand Hustle/Atlantic; Publishers: Crown Club Publishing/Warner-Tamerlane Publishing/Tenman Tunes/Universal Z Tunes/Cleopatra's Sons Music/EMI April Music.] See above... D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune) Shawn Carter & Ernest Wilson, songwriters (Gary DeCarlo, Dale Frashuer, Paul Leka, Janko Nilovic & Dave Sucky, songwriters) (Jay-Z) [Atlantic; Publishers: EMI April Music, Carter Boys Music/Chrysalis Songs/No ID Music, Unichappell Music, APM Music.] See above... Run This Town Shawn Carter, R. Fenty, M. Riddick, Kanye West & E. Wilson, songwriters (Athanasios Alatas, songwriter) (Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West) [Roc Nation; Publishers: EMI April Music, Carter Boys Music/Please Gimme My Publishing/EMI Blackwood/Chrysalis Songs/No ID Music/All The Above Publishing/Sony ATV/Annauhi Music/Athanasios Alatas Publishing.] See Above... Best Rap Album Universal Mind Control Common [Geffen] I didn't LOVE this album, but it is good. I should give it another listen. The Ecstatic Mos Def [Downtown Records] I just picked up this album and I love it. Hip-Hop...pure...honest...simple. The Renaissance Q-Tip [universal Motown] Best album...Hands Down! This better win!!
  3. Hilarious! This kinda humor reminds of what I used 2 be really in2. I'll be keeping up with this.
  4. I don't follow sports. Tiger Woods seemed like a good guy from the bits and pieces I've seen of him on on TV over the years. I hate that he's dealing with everything through the media. If he's going thru' a weird spell, I hope he gets his life together. If he's actually a jerk, hopefully he changes the person he is after all this stuff.
  5. Yeah, I don't think any of those albums deserve 2 be there. I'm 100% over Kanye West. After he's done and said so many stupid things, I can't take him seriously. He's never had the lyrics, flow, or delivery to even be considered a good emcee. And he hasn't had the beats to compinsate for his weak vocal performances since he 1st came out. Beyonce's "I Am...Sasha Fierce" is were worst abum, riddled with crappy production and over the top, forced lyrics and vocal performances. I love Beyonce but I hate this over-produced album. I never picked up "Stankonia"...i just know "Ms. Jackson" was dope and that OutKast's best work was in the very beginning of their career. Justin Timberlake's "Future Sex/Love Sounds" was an okay album. Commercially speaking, it probably deserves to be there. Artistically...Not so much. He's 1st album was better. Jay-Z's "Blueprint" might belong there commercially as well. After Reasonable Doubt, it's probably his best album.
  6. I love "Switch" as a song...but I never thought it transferred nicely as a song 2 perform life. Still a good performance tho.' I remember how exicted I was every time he performed for L+F. He promoted "Switch" EVERYWHERE...then just stopped.
  7. This has always been one of my favorite songs off the album. I like it even better than the joint that Jazzy scratches on.
  8. Yeah, Double Up was a pile of crap as well. A handful of good songs drowning in crappy stuff that you'd hear on the radio. He's not that kinda artist. I think his last great album was TP.2.com. ALVIN + THE CHIPMUNKS - It's Okay The Squeakuel (2009) Am I weird for being an "adult" who loves the Chipmunks?
  9. I heard 1 or 2 of the songs on Refill and they were very much in the same forumla as the avearge stuff off of Relapse. I was kinda disappointed because I was hoping for something on the level of the stronger songs off Relapse, "Warning" or this freestyle here. That wasn't the case on the 2 songs I've heard. I forget who on this board thought Mos Def's new album wasn't good but I thought it was good. I'm actually buying it (finally) over the weekend but I've already heard it and I thought it was dope. The Roots are another story tho.' They are so talented but the quality of music has quickly dropped since the 90's. They need 2 find their roots (if u will) and start making music that their original fans actually can stand listening 2.
  10. R. KELLY - Exit Untitled (2009) Well, half of the album is good.
  11. That was dope! I think that was the best one as well. It just felt goot 2 see the 3 of them doing their thing, stripped down 2 it's essence over DJ Premier dropping the beat. All 3 of them have done different, artsy, and experimental stuff that has taken them away from where it all started and this took them all full circle. Now if all of them would just stay HERE.
  12. I like that idea 2. Enemy of The State had a good balance of something new for him with just enough classic FP.
  13. Another Willennium style album would be dope, minus some of the more mainstream rap tracks. To have it actually say DJ Jazzy Jeff + Fresh Prince would be a BIG deal tho.' The brand would be stronger and it would be more of an event for Hip-Hop.
  14. I'm happy to hear that there is no rush for this movie. Hancock is totally forgetable to me. I think back on all of FP's movie and Hancock is totally forgetable. I liked Seven Pounds and I really enjoyed The Pursuite of Happyness, but to me, I, Robot was the last great "Will Smith movie." I think after some time passes, they'll realize there's not a very good chance that Hancock 2 would be good or even necessary. It's time 2 break out the comedy with classic FP swagga and maybe some action.
  15. ALVIN + THE CHIPMUNKS + THE CHIPETTES - I've Got A Feelin' (Black Eyed Peas) The Squeakqual (2009) Oh yes they did! :pound:
  16. I'm sure if he's actually focusing on making a whole new album, Jazzy will be the 1st 2 know. If he's just messing around in the studio, probably not. This day in age, it makes alot more sense for a JJ+FP album than a solo album.
  17. MC HAMMER - Ring 'Em Let's Get It Started (1987)
  18. I think Black Friday is one of the stupidest things ever. The ONLY good thing about it is getting really good deals on stuff that u may or may not want. It's the day after Thanksgiving. You go from enjoying your day off (for most of us), eating real food (not fast food), and appriciateing your family to "let's go out in a hectic shopping enviornment." To me, people should still relax and spend time with their family, but every idiot in the country gets up at 3 in the morning to go shopping. Hardering working people have to peel their butts out of bed super early to cater to these freaks of nature. It's stupid. The "Black Friday" idea should last over the weekend so that so many people aren't suffering and rushing to get good deals. People have been trampled, injured, and killed becuz some idiot wants a TV at Wal-Mart. To me, Black Friday is one idiotic American invention.
  19. TLC - Sleigh Ride A LaFace Family Christmas (1993)
  20. DJ JAZZY JEFF + FRESH PRINCE - Ain't No Place Like Home Code Red (1993)
  21. Definitly not brilliant, but definately funny. I have no idea why he did it, but i think that's what makes it funny.
  22. BOYZ II MEN - Cupid Love (2009) The Boyz are back! Now if only they could release an album that wasn't all covers.
  23. OWL CITY - Fireflies Ocean Eyes (2009) This normally isn't my flava but I just like this guy's vibe. His sound is so unique.
  24. EMINEM - Murder Murder The Slim Shady EP (1997)
