20 Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2009
JumpinJack AJ replied to VIsqo's topic in Caught in the Middle
Yeah, i kinda down played what i'm thinkin'...tho' i'm gererally not that hyped as i should be. "Morbid curiosity is the perfect word for Eminem. I will give him a listen incase he learned how 2 be witty and creative again...and have a good flow. Dr. Dre i don't have 2 much faith in. He thinks it's okay 2 be a middle aged gangsta after we all know he isn't. His has a dope voice and flow...and beats 2, but it's time 2 grow up. I love OutKast, but other than their 1st album, none of their albums have really kept my attention. There last 2 definitely weren't what i wanted. I'm hoping for the kinda magic they had when they 1st broke. Busta Rhymes i'm definitely intersted in. I'll listen 2 Kanye's album as long as it's NOTHING IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM like his current crap. I never listened 2 his previous albums long after i got them tho.' I'm not a real fan of Joe Budden but i'd wanna hear his album. -
Hip-Hop Medley of Fun: Jeff Live
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
This is so dope...i remember when those songs were the songs on the radio. Those were what broke in2 the mainstream and they were authentic Hip-Hop. I love it when the lost it when Arrested Development came on. I'm surprised they got more of a reaction than LL Cool J, OutKast, and Slick Rick. -
20 Most Anticipated Hip-Hop Albums of 2009
JumpinJack AJ replied to VIsqo's topic in Caught in the Middle
Hmmm...i wanna hear a few of them...Mos Def, Rakim, OutKast, Dr. Dre, and a few others....but i'm not genuinely excited about any of them. -
I think i have this...i'm just not sure what it's off of. I wasn't totally feeling it until the vocals kicked it. His 1st 2 albums are just amazing. Dangerous and Invincible are clumped 2gether as my second favz after Off The Wall and Thriller. I can't wait for the new stuff.

I've even listened 2 a few songs again since this one girl did me wrong recently and i STILL can't support this project. Usually the fact that I can identify with songs will make me like them even when they are not that great. I can't identify with this crap and i can't adjust 2 the sound. Give me "All Falls Down" again.

HEAVY D THANKS FRESH PRINCE
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I do like a good bit of Reggae and Dancehall and this is one of my favorite albums in general...and from that genre. When i put it in, i have 2 listen 2 it the whole way thru.' -
I saw this track earlier 2day. It's flawless. This song is what is making me fall in love with Hip-Hop all over again in the 2-0-0-9!!
-
I haven't watched this in awhile. I have this on tape somewhere. As i remember, he opened the Grammys with that. The whole intro and wardrob is so 2000...ha ha. Jim pointed out the dancers...ha ha...i don't see them as unecessary but their "Freakin' It" bit was a bit rough....they got on point for "WWW." Sisqo popping out of that box and jumping that far down always cracked me up. He was a real performer...i wish he was still out there doing his thing. The Kool Moe Dee lyrics are what i love the most. The way he flipped it like that was just dope. Wes hooked me up with some good audio of this performance years ago.
-
If anything, i've always wished they'd release a double disc deluxe edition of this album. Classic albums get this treatment...why not He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper?? Remaster the sound. Put the full length 12" versions on it instead of the shorter CD versions. Throw on those extra interludes. At the end of the 2nd disc, add on the remixes, instrumentals and radio edits from the 12" singles. If Jive has any related audio (live performances, interviews, etc), throw them on their. If FP was doing music in a big way and old school Hip-Hop was getting a general appriciation, this wouldn't be such a hard thing 2 imagin. A DVD with performances, interviews, the music videos, etc would but dope.

WS mentioned in 50 cent&Dre song...
JumpinJack AJ replied to willreign's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Tell me at what point in the song he's mentioned and i'll listen 2 it then and just skip 2 that part. I don't want 2 make myself feel dumb but listening 2 a 50 Cent song. -

Is it crazy that i'm getting a "File Not Found" pop up?
-
I STILL cannot download this mixtape. Can ANYBODY help a playa out?!?! Worse come 2 worse one of y'all can send me a CD-R with it and i'll send u a CD-R in return of some rare JJ+FP or something!!

I finally found Heavy D's new album "Vibes." The very 1st line of the Thank You's is... "To Will and Jada Pinkett Smith for all of their constant love and support. You guys have kept me on my feet and I am indebted to you for life." it goes on... "James Lassiter for your valuable time and effort. You never gave up! Omarr Rambert, you might as well be from Jamacia. Thanks for the studio vibes fam!! Charlie Mack...don't worry. I'll go on tour. Luv ya fam." It's funny that Heavy D is in so deep with the JJ+FP crew...even tho' they did do ANY work on his album...ha ha. The album is dope. I dont' listen 2 tons of reggae but this is definitely my favorite reggae album that i've heard in the last 5 years. I just hope he comes out with a Hip-Hop album in a year or so....and that he brings FP along.

LENKA - The Show (self-titled) (2008)
-
Disappointing. The beat isn't bad...it's just boring. U can't tell if it was made in 2004 or 2008. Nothing new 2 it at all. Eminem's chorus is annoying and not one lyric stood out 2 me. I can't tell if i like his flow or hate his flow on this. Dr. Dre sounds good but the same thing...there's nothing lyrical about his verse. 50 Cent is just crap. I stopped the song after his first few bars. It's better than what's on the radio these days...but what isn't?
-
In light of listening 2 Jaden, maybe we can take over Interscope and force them by gun point 2 release and album or EP just called "Lost" featuring all of the Jazzy Jeff remixes and unreleased joints of L+F.
-
That remix is flawless. Very 90's. I LOOOOOOVE IT. Thanx 4 posting!! I asked the person who created it 2 see if they'd be willing 2 share the MP3. I was just gonna burn a new copy of Willennium for the ride...but now i'm gonna hold out 2 see if he's send that MP3.

I think everyone is being a bit overdramatic here. Whenever FP spits a mini-verse of "Summertime" he stops where he paused for a moment. His rap was fine. Who can get loose in a newspaper building in Germany surrounded by a bunch of stiff white folks. It doesn't get any further away from the 'hood than that. The sweater vest didn't help.

Will Smith: 'My Son Stopped me From Reviving Music Career'
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Look how awful things look for music. Especially Rap (look who's popular) and Hip-Hop (is anyone other than Common Sense and Lupe Fiasco popular?). After how "Switch" did, it's hard 2 imagin him releasing another single that didn't do at least as good as "Switch." There is no reason he couldn't come back and do better than L+F. The more i think about it, the more we need him more than ever. -
I've always thought the same thing. I think we should focus on what we can do 2 make an impact.
