  1. They say they are doing a sequel 2 every Will Smith movie. They are always working on the next one the week that the current one comes out. I doubt it'll happen. The idea of Hancock should make sense, but after seeing it, there's really no reason 2. And hearing that FP isn't happy with the movie makes me happy since i can't say i love it. Keep in mind he also ran the oppisite way when the Independence Day sequel was presented 2 him. ID4 was a great movie but had zero reason 2 have a sequel. Hancock just isn't that great of a movie. U can't fix an average movie with a sequel. The damage is already done. Why return to shaky ground 2 breathe life in 2 something that should have been done right in the 1st place? It's like double the work for a project that probably will not do anything that impressive that's way 2 much of a risk.
  2. Hmmmm....i don't wanna be a downer...but let me be the 1st 2 say that the movie is average. There are some very funny scenes, but after seeing the trailor, half of them aren't a surprise and the other half are kinda expected. I think that the story is a bit quirky and bizarre. Which is fine if u are in2 that kinda thing...sometime i am...but not in this one. It doesn't feel like the story is very strong either. The devlopment of FP's character is fast and doesn't seem like the transformation is really for much of a purpose. I have to say that even tho' the trailor cracked me up, i can't say that i'm really surprised or impressed with the movie. It seems like the the movie was exactly how i thought it would be. I also think that it's werid trying 2 make a drama out of something that has superheroes becuz the fantasy factor is amped up so much. Like I Am Legend, i think this movie is average. I'll gladly watch the Bad Boys movies, the Men In Black movies, ID4, Enemy of The State, Wild Wild West, The Legend of Bagger Vance, ALI, The Pursuit of Happyness, Made In America, Sharktale, or Hitch over Hancock or I Am Legend any day. Screw the movies...give me an album. The person i saw the movie with liked it move than i did. I saw a 10:45 showing Wednesday night (couldn't make the midnight show the nite b4) and the theater wasn't even half way full. Sure, it's the middle of the week and sure it waz kinda late, but that's the emptiest i've ever seen a 1st showing of "a Will Smith movie."
  3. Ha...i can't say i'm gonna take any posts 2 seriously from someone who wants 2 put that kinda info out there on their 1st post. Back in that 1997 Source interview. FP said he's always writing...even in retirement. He said that when he was working on BWS, for a handful of tracks (which are credited), he wrote a song and brought it 2 Nas. He said that since he hadn't really done anything with the intent of releasing it in years, he felt that alot of time had past and that Hip-Hop had changed so we brought the songs 2 Nas looking for an edge geared 2 the current scene. The interview went on 2 say that Nas would say "why don't u flip this part this way..." and stuff like that. Mad Skillz and Common Sense also worked along side FP. I think he just does that for some of his trax looking for the collaboration with an emcee that he respects just 2 remind me where he's at. He's not exactly walking the streets of Philly everyday anymore getting a normal, down 2 earth kind of inspiration. He's on movie sets and in the lap of luxery with his family. In a 2000 XXL interview, Kel talked about working with FP and stated that they co-wrote songs 2gether and that he did just write songs for FP 2 rap. I can't say that i love the idea of people co-writing with him, but even back in the day, Ready Rock C and Jazzy Jeff were writing the songs with him. Even i can personally relate when i was rapping. Some stuff i wrote all by myself. Some of the stuff i wrote with my best friends. Fresh Prince is a pioneer...not a puppet.
  4. I just watched the newest video. Classic stuff. Hopefully this video gets put on Youtube so i can put on my Myspace. I'm so hyped for Rock The House and He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper stuff right now.
  5. It's definitely not what FP was talking about...but things change. I'm just happy they are doing their thing and getting lots of love for it. Beggers can't be chosers!!
  6. After watching footage from all 3 recent sets...is it just me, or is FP a bit better when Jazzy is right there with him? Don't get me wrong, the other sets were good...but this one with Jeff just seems so much better. He's got his swagga back.
  7. FRESH PRINCE + TRA-KNOX - Black Suits Comin' (MIB2 Remix) Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head) (Import) (2002)
  8. It's encouraging 2 hear that he threw away 2 albums worth of work 2 come up with the finished product. It sounds like that 50 Cent fling and the vibe he was on early in the album's stages is probably filtered out for better music. I'm also not surpised that he's considering saying. Jay-Z didn't really know what 2 do with Def Jam and LL is the only cornerstone left to the label. If he sees hope for the label, i could see him sticking around for the love and not the money.
  9. Good ol' dayz!! Those Celine Dion and Boyz II Men songs were HUGE!! It's dope that the 'Prince won. Man, the 90's were awesome. I'd also like 2 thank Jennifer Lopez for wearing that dress.
  10. Awesome news! JJ+FP strong in the 2-0-0-8!! The pix are great. It's good seeing so many of FP's long time friends and Hip-Hop peers coming out 4 the event.
  11. MARTIN SHORT - Elliot Garfield Grant The Goodbye Girl (Broadway Recording) (1993) No, not for pleasure...just becuz i'm doing this show.
  12. Thanx 4 the pic. I don't really like his suit but i like that it's unique. The ladies of the family look great. But i'd never be caught in what the fellas are wearing...ha ha.
  13. mad4will!!! Welcome back!!!!! Long tyme no see! It's about time u come 2 the light. I'm happy u got 2 see that performance and that someone is validating how much he loves peforming live even tho' he's trying 2 sound like music isn't a big priority right now.
  14. RICH CRONIN - Story of My Life Billion Dollar Sound (2008)
  15. To me, it looked like a Short Circuit rip-off. I think i'll safely wait for the DVD release 2 check it...especially since i haven't seen a ton of movies that i originally wanted 2 see when they 1st came out.
  16. Loved it!! Thanx 4 posting! Shortly after he started u could tell he was feeling it. Some hiatus.
  17. AOL had something on listed as a rumor on their news page this morning saying that Will was spotted handing out Scientology pamplets somewhere. I can't see it...and i dont' wanna see it.
  18. KRS-ONE - Hip-Hop Maximum Strength 2008 (2008)
  19. Ha ha...i've watched 100 LL Cool J interviews. He seems nervous or something. Usually he is joking and smiling and really warm. Sure, he's taking the state of Hip-Hop serious...but he waz REALLY dry in that interview. And the lip licking was outta control...ha ha. I'd never seen him like that before.
  20. GANG STARR - Premier + The Guru No More Mr. Nice Guy (1992)
  21. This is definitely the worst song he's ever done. I hope this is just some experiment or something. It's a shame when one of the artists in modern years does a complete 180 to make some of the crappiest music. I don't feel that this common crap is his future.
  22. I can't say i'm sweating this 2 much. He's an emcee at the roots. He'll be back with music...where's it's sooner or later, he'll be back. None of us wanna deal with a wait and maybe that's what he's preparing us for right now...but maybe he just said that because of the audience he was speaking 2. I like that he said he wasn't recording much...which means he is doing it. We've been thru' this before. I don't see it as anything 2 be worked up about. After all, he's released 4 albums since he quit rapping...ha ha.
