What an idiot....show's the average intellegence level of people who like Soulja Boy. -
Hancock world premiere cancelled!
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
JJ+FP wanna do shows. If they REALLY wanna do it, not having it piggy backing a movie isn't gonna stop them from doing it. I don't care about a any premiere...i just want a show. -
I saw a part of the video the other day and thought the same thing. Fun, creative, wildness. Busta's last album is actually really good. Probably better than the 2 or 3 that came before. I can't say i've listened 2 it in awhile. I just remember thinking half the songs were dope...and the rest were good.

Oh, i'm definitely not running with any of this very seriously until there's a truely legit source.

I didn't even read the articles yes....but i'm writing Kel 2 have an intervention...ha ha.

10 best selling rap albums of all-time
JumpinJack AJ replied to Jin's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I'm not saying that this is definetly how this paticular list is. I just know that that's what the case is most of the time when they talk about how many albums have been sold when it comes 2 double albums. If that is the case, Big Willie Style is actually number 5. -
I love Kel. Y'all know that, he knows that...but i'm just wishing he'd be dropping stuff with that "backpack" sound he said his album would reflect. I just think 2 much of his production (like this song) is over produced and lacking musically. His lyrics and flow are great. Some of these beats are just not that impressive 2 me. I hadn't heard this one. Thanx 4 posting about it.

10 best selling rap albums of all-time
JumpinJack AJ replied to Jin's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I have all of them but one. I think 6 of them belong up there. The OutKast and 2Pac albums were probably 2 discs per sale. That's at least how they did it back in the 90's. Say it says 2Pac sold 5 million copies, he would have actually sold 2.5 million becuz they count every double album sold as 2. -
Wow, that song is amazing. I love it! It's my favorite song by him. The lyrics are solid and production is flawless. Sadly, pain usually is the best inspiration. If the song is really written for Remy Ma, it's hard 4 me 2 imagin her as very lady like which slight taints the song in my mind.

GEORGE MICHAEL - Father Figure Faith (1987) Takin' it back...ha ha

As far as i know, this is actually a song off the Almost September album (MC Lyte's group) and KRS-One is featured on it. Lyte put it up on myspace a week or so ago.
-
Her group Almost September is digitally dropping their album at the end of this month. The music is dope. It's exactly what i've been waiting for and i'm pretty sure alot of people here will like Almost September. KRS-One is featured on one of the trax. I asked her if she'll make a physical CD available but got no reply. A few years ago MC Lyte was quick 2 reply 2 e-mails...i guess things have changed. RICH CRONIN - Cab Driver (Unreleased) (2005)

D'ANGELO - Superman Lover (Live Cover) Yoda - The Monarch of Soul (2007) I don't think D'Angelo had anything 2 do with this album, but since i really like his stuff, i finally got it. I hope he gets his stuff 2gether.
-
Yeah, he'll always be one of my favs. Unfortunately some of his newer stuff is a bit off since he's always trying 2 find it place. I've always admired that he's stayed true 2 himself and not sold out, reguardless of what anyone else is doing. He just doing what he can 2 adapt 2 the times without selling his soul. I feel that if he got a deal with a major label again, he'd be doing things that he can't do under his own control or the people that he works with.
-
Yeah, i waz just thinkin' about this website the other day. I hadn't checked it in forever cuz i fogot about it due 2 the low traffic. If the site waz finished, i'm sure it would be going places. I mean, if we can have a huge community based off of one group, i can only imagin what a site and message board based off of Hip-Hop would do...especially REAL HIP-HOP since it's so hard 2 find a place 4 that.

Vote Will Smith hunkiest dad of 2008!
JumpinJack AJ replied to canada2008's topic in Will Smith Movies
I just voted...is my sexuality challenged in any way...nope. Ha ha. FP only has 10 votes. I didn't check out the website so i don't know how big it is, but it only takes a second. Click the link on this board, then click the Vote button under FP's pic. Support!! After the voting is done, they can do a wonderful article on him that over looks his music career!! -
Yeah, just has a the vibe of the time. Having MC Hammer, Big Daddy Kane, and 2Pac all on the same track is an unpredictable mix but i like the way they sound 2gether. I got "Too Tight" for less than $20 before shipping. I don't know how rare the promos or leaked copies are but i've never seen one before. The album cover was obviously doctored unless Deathrow created it just 2 serve as a working cover (it waz a pic of him in a suit with the Deathrow chain on. The CD itself looked 100% real in the pic with the tracklisting and the Deathrow logo. It wasn't like a label or anything. I have heard of mixtape versions of the album that have mix DJ's shouting crap all over it but the one i'm getting is supposed 2 be the real deal. I'll post a full album review with i get it.

JASON MRAZ - Coyotes We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things (2008) THIS IS MY JAM!!

Ha ha...i'm glad another Hammer fan jumped on this post...ha ha. I waz feeling pretty lonely for a minute. Jim is the only other MC Hammer fan that i really remembered being on this board and waz waiting for his opinion. Deathrow sucks as a label. I mean, they only released like 15 albums...out of the 100 plus they intended 2. Even though MC Hammer represented a whole nother vibe then the rest of the roster, they all supported him for what he did without trying 2 change him. MC Hammer released an all gospel Hip-Hop record in 1998 so i'm not sure what happened between the 2 albums. I bet 2Pac's death waz the main reason he left. The Family Affair album is crazy rare (i think i saw it on ebay for $600 recently). I found a copy and i'm praying it's not a bootleg or CD-R cuz i spend a bit of money for it. I found a leaked version of Too Tight as well and should receive both in the mail this week. I really wish he'd put another album 2gether for an organized label soon. He has some decent trax up on his myspace right now.

Yeah, it's a bit irritating. Most of the people looking up stuff for FP online are mostly interested in the acting so the people who are writing the articles are focusing mainly on that...i'm sure more than half of them are not experts on his music either. I'm sure FP doesn't mind, that's why he rarely mixes the music and the movies. I remember being at a party 3 summers ago and some nerdy white kid waz talking about FP and giving him props for "U Saw My Blinker." The person he waz talking 2 was like "huh?" cuz they had never heard the song and the nerdy kid waz like "U know of the 1st Jazzy Jeff + Fresh Prince album?" Oh well, at least they were giving him props, i guess.
