  1. FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS - Boom (self-titled) (2008) Tim, the album is out. It's pretty funny. The songs that i didn't think were funny the 1st time around are getting funnier with every listen.
  2. I like the experimental beat alot. The message is alright but i can't get used LL cussing again...at least not this much. His modern flow with the cussing just doesn't sit well with me. This isn't 2 bad at all but i'm looking for the album AFTER this one.
  3. I always thought she was U.G. U.G.L.Y.
  4. Figures...i never did look at the import versions yet. How good are the bonus trax? BLAQUE - Get It Back Blaque By Popular Demad (2001/2007)
  5. The past few years i've heard so many people from the board saying how they can't find the album and if they can, it's always really expensive. Well, i waz just checking CDNow.com/Amazon and they have 6 used copies for under $5. There's another for $15, then one for $50. So anyone who has complained about not finding the album or not finding it for a good price has no reason 2 keep complaining. Get yours! U'll be glad u did!!
  6. I love this song. That beat is lacking but the overall energy is good. No where near as dope as "Self Destruction" but definitely amazing 2 they standard that so many sey these days. KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, and Ne-Yo did their thing. Even the other guys stepped their game up. SINGLE! VIDEO! GET SOMETHING LIKE THIS OUT!! Props 2 KRS-One 4 masterminding this.
  7. ...but "Ain't Nobody" is my joint. I got the video on tape somewhere.
  8. Wazn't a demo version of this already released? I know i heard the lyrics b4. I swear it waz a staight Hip-Hop beat tho'. I don't mind the beat under the verses, but under that idiotic hook, the beat gets real annoying. Why is Lil' Crappy on the joint tho'...this colabo makes no sense. He definitly only takes away from the with the off-topic chorus...and the "'ey"s are annoying. This new version is making me loose some hope in the album. He needs 2 get off Def Jam and so good music again!
  9. My 2 favorite things in this world...JJ+FP and TLC. FP should drop a verse on Chilli's album...or she should do a hook on his next. Visqo...Chilli and Usher split in 2004. It's speculated that he cheated on her. Man, he messed up. Especially when u see and hear about his new wife. :leaving:
  10. I don't think i have that song...what's it from? LEONA LEWIS - Homeless Spirit (Import) (2007)
  11. Yeah, I remember thinking she might be on 2 something...but when i checked the album, what i heard was awful. It waz when she was working with Un. I can only imagin whatever she did with Murder Inc. waz even worse than that.
  12. This post is for those are following VH-1's "Miss Rap Supreme" hosted by MC Serch and Yo Yo. Let me start of saying that i respect that they took all kind of different females from all different areas with all different styles at all different skill levels. That doesn't say that i thik all of them are good, but i respect it. I was actually really upset that Khia is on the show. Y'all will remember her from her awful hit "My Neck My Back" that was big during the time Born To Reign dropped. Khia already had a hit song....why is she on a show of amatures? The funny thing is that all of them are more talented then her. The show has alot more 2 it than what i waz expecting...at least so far. If nothing else, it's great seeing MC Serch and Yo Yo on TV. I just started watching the new episode. Serch just entered the house and kicked Khia out...ha ha. He found out that her wack verse at the end of the last episode (that barely kept her on the show as they kicked off the weakest femcee on the show) waz actually one of her songs. Since he asked for an ORIGINAL verse, he kicked her pathetic butt off...after she was up in that house with all kinds of attitude. Even tho' i thought Chalie Baltimore was wack once she finally dropped her album, it waz good 2 see her make an appearance on the show. Anyone else watching? What do u think?
  13. Why do u always defend morons? A. Keys statements were kinda bold, but she wasn't talking crap. I mean, gangsta rap, tho' it's been dead for years is the biggest joke. Nobody believes the lyrics or that those guys actually live that lifestyle. FP has "talked more crap" than A. Keys has. Why don't u diss him?
  14. Congratz!! We expect u 2 raise him on JJ+FP music and we expect his 1st post in about 10 years.
  15. I wanna know who the idiot is who will vote him as a beatboxer.
  16. This will most likely turn in2 a new album...some how, some way. Tim, u need 2 let Jeff know we want this set released as a concert album and dvd.
  17. Ha ha!! This guy just comes up with new ways 2 show us how stupid he is... --------------------------------------------- 50 Cent 'Don't Like Alicia Keys No More' By MELISSA CASTELLANOS, CBS News Posted: 2008-04-18 16:54:22 Filed Under: Music News (April 18) - When it comes to "Gangsta rap" 50 Cent doesn't play around. He's not happy about comments Alicia Keys was quoted as making in a recent interview with Blender, even though the R&B songstress later said the quotes were "misrepresented" by the magazine. Alicias Blender Mix-Up In an interview for the May issue of Blender, Alicia Keys talked about the AK-47 pendant she wears around her neck "to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead" and is quoted as saying that "'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other." The singer also said the Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. feud was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing." She released a statement on April 15, saying her comments were "misrepresented" and that she isn't a "conspiracy theorist" or "a racist." Keys has been reading a number of autobiographies by those involved in the Black Panther movement and that she plans to write more political songs. She explained that if the late Black Panther Huey Newton, above, "had the outlets our musicians have today, it'd be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself." "'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other," Keys was quoted as saying. "'Gangsta rap' didn't exist." According to the Associated Press, Keys issued a statement later saying that her comments were "misrepresented" and that she isn't a "conspiracy theorist" or "a racist." "We stand by our story," Blender spokeswoman Kate Cafaro told The Associated Press on Tuesday. Regardless of Keys' explanation, 50 Cent wasn't too thrilled with the comment. "I don't like Alicia Keys no more though … the same reason why I said that I don't like Oprah Winfrey," 50 Cent toldThe Showbuzz. "I'm prejudice(d). I don't like people who don't like me. If you don't like the content that I write because of my experiences; I am being who I am when I am writing it. I fall into that 'label' as far as you considering artists creating 'Gangsta music,' we fall into that. "If she don't like that, (then) I don't like that classical music s--- she be doing. At some point she's playing some s--- that don't relate to me. … We listen to it and try to figure out why people actually enjoy it. I am trying to enjoy it. That statement changes my perception of Alicia Keys totally. But the magazine is standing behind it, which means they probably have a tape of her in conversation saying it. It's just not really a bright comment anyway." A multiplatinum artist ("Get Rich or Die Tryin" and "The Massacre") and business mogul, 50 Cent made a fortune from using rap to share his story of growing up hustling in the streets since the age of twelve. He believes that hip-hop as an art form is often misjudged. "I think hip-hop is so competitive, that the competitive nature, the art form makes it a competition," 50 Cent said. "I don't think that a lot of people who judge hip-hop actually enjoy it as an art form. They aren't into it enough to understand what they are listening to and they just hear disrespectful lyrics going back and forth and just say 'oh they're fighting' … so it's got to be negative if it's fighting. To just make reference to what hip-hop was from the very beginning was just two artists battling. Battling turned into beefing after Biggie and Tupac passed because unfortunately that turned into real incidents in the street." 50 Cent, who knows this way of life firsthand, said his mother (who was a cocaine dealer) was killed when he was 8 years old. "Those things happen in that kind of lifestyle," he said. 50 Cent said that his "reference of nice things died with her." His grandparents, who took him in, had nine children, which meant finances were strained and times were tough. Although 50 Cent was successful, Columbia Records let him go after he was shot 9 times on May 24, 2000. The rapper was in his car outside of his grandmother's house in South Jamaica, Queens when a gunman pulled up and shot him at close range while he was sitting in the car. He was shot in the hands, legs, chest, hip and left cheek. He managed to redeem himself in the music biz once he healed and stopped hustling. He may be scarred, but he seems unscathed by the incident today. "When you get shot, you just get up and go back to doing what you were doing and music was what I was doing," 50 Cent said.
  18. RAKIM - Guess Who's Back The 18th Letter (1997)
  19. HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! I had no idea rednecks and Vanilla Ice parodies could bring so my joy 2 my life...ha ha. That is hilarious!! Thanx 4 sharing. I will say that i don't care 2 see winter for a very long time tho.' And this video makes me never wanna see it again.
  20. I have 2 Lyrics Born albums that i like but don't listen 2 often. I'll check this out...and probably pop in the neglected albums.
  21. Respect. He seemed kinda akward about it tho.' I'm wondering if that was written for him or if he did that on his own. I love that some of the crowd clapped when JJ+FP was mentioned.
  22. I'll be seeing Hancock, The Dark Knight, X-Files, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, The Happening, The Love Guru, Hell Boy 2 and that Adam Sandler flick. When i voted for the movies i was gonna see, i was disapointed to see Hancock at number 4 with only 2% of the votes.
  23. Yeah, the whole album will grow on u...except for that Scott Storch/Young Jeezy mess. She can even keep u listening over average beats.
  24. That is hilarious. Thanx 4 sharing. I"ll be going back 2 this 2 brighten my day.
