Mike left the group in 2002/2003 due to ongoing back problems. I'm so happy for u. The pix are great. BIIM is and always will be one of the greatest R-N-B groups of all time. The Remedy was a flawless album. I wish it was released commercially in the US. Those cover albums are nice, but they aren't gonna generate any real hype like they had thru' the 90's. I'd love 2 see them perform live. Maybe sometime.

Yeah, i waz kinda in2 Father MC back in the day. After his hay day, i got more in2 his stuff. His stuff from Uptown records is the illest. If u like the Uptown sound, Heavy D and the New Jack Swing sound, u'll love Father MC. I have some of his newer stuff and mid-90's stuff as well. Good stuff (tho' some of the harder or sexed up stuff leans a bit towards the common stuff we are used 2 these days). Father MC is definitely over looked and underrated. If u like that song, check "Treat Them Like They Wanna Be Treated." It features Jodeci before they got big...as do a handful of songs off his 1st 2 albums. Also check 1992's "One Nite Stand" featuring Mary J. Blige. This was done as MJB was just coming out. "Close To You" is another personal favorite. Into the mid-90's and the 2000's he's released music independently. Awhile back me and Tim were talking about him and i think Tim said he had a hit overseas awhile back...the US hasn't really heard anything that popular from him since 1993 when he released his last Uptown album.

That's awful. The Levert family has dealt with alot. The sad part is that they are pretty stand up people. I had no idea Sean was in jail for not paying child support. That is the 1st time i've heard anything negative involving the family. Gerald and Sean were keeping the legacy that their father started...and hasn't even retired from yet (the O'Jay's are STILL going). I love Levert. 2 this day they are one of my favorite groups. I have all of their albums except for their 1st which is really rare and goes for LOTS of money when u do find it. I even have Sean's solo album that was over looked. My prayers go out 2 the family.

Rapper Beanie Sigel Lands Back in Prison AP Posted: 2008-03-29 14:06:56 Filed Under: Celebrities in Court, Music News (March 29) - Rap star Beanie Sigel has returned to prison. A federal judge in Philadelphia sentenced Sigel to three months in prison Friday after authorities say he gave a false urine sample to probation officials. Officials also say the rapper tested positive five times this month for Xanax and Percocet. Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, was already serving a six-month term in a halfway house for having previously violated supervised release. Sigel told the judge he was an addict and had a relapse when he was sent to the halfway house. In 2004, U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick sentenced Sigel to a year in prison and two years of supervised release after Sigel pleaded guilty to weapons and drug charges. He was acquitted in September 2005 of attempted-murder charges in connection with a shooting. ------------------------------------------------------- This doesn't say much for his character. After previous charges, u think he'd get his crap 2gether...or at least take a mature hold of the self-control in his life so that he didn't end up back there. It's bad enough crappy rappers like Sigel have pop fans thinking that he represents true, quality Hip-Hop music...but when idiot actions follow him, it makes it worse.

MUSIC SOULCHILD + ESTELLE - People Everyday (Metamorphosis Mix) Meet The Browns Soundtrack (2008) Man, Musiq Soulchild, ATOJ alumni Ivan + Carvin doing a true-2-original Arrested Devleopment classic....just dope. The soundtrack 2 Tyler Perry movies are the best. If u love R-N-B and/or 90's R-N-B, u will be pleased with any of these soundtracks.

Actress Tatyana Ali Makes Her Appearance In "Mary & Joseph"
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Good stuff...i wish i could have seen that show. It sounds interesting. The album is what i'm really looking forward 2. I like the idea that she's working with Johnny J, his stuff is always great, tho' i haven't heard anything new from him in ages. It'll be interesting hearing him do R-N-B. The promo pic for the album looks great. I hope he does well...and that FP's jumps on a remix!! -
FP takes his time and waits for inspiration. He has said stuff like he's not recording...but then follows it up with the big JJ+FP old school tour. That's far from retiring. On top of that, he does mini performances at the most random times (award shows, movie sets) and then goes out rocking "Party Starter" shirts even tho' the album is 3 years old. This is his best retirement yet!...ha ha. L+F is still holding me over even tho' i'm dying for something new.

So many people dislike "I Can't Stop"...ha ha. It's funny because I saw them perform it live a week before the album dropped. I would never say that it's one of his strongest songs, but i don't mind it at all. I think seeing it live, with all of that energy, the dancers, and Jazzy Jeff + Tra-Knox doing their thing, i'll always see the song in a way few people will. Over all, i appriciate the album for the experiment that it served. When u look back at 2002, it waz a weird place for Hip-Hop. U had all the pop rappers like Nelly and Ja-Rule serving up alot of crappy music...then u still had the 'underground' still getting some shine with the moderate attention that Jeff's album got, then u had FP releasing an album with originals "samples" and live instruments...when an R-N-B group backing him. That took alot of boldness and creativity. I don't care that it's not his best album and that i rarely listen 2 it the whole way thru' (other than blistering hot summer days). It served it's purpose. I wish another single followed sooner and that the album got promoted. "1,000 Kisses" waz a great song and video. It waz just 4 or 5 months late...ha ha. I STILL wish the alternate mix they used for the video was available. Thinking back on the time and the music...i just may have 2 pop it in.

Rapper Remy Ma convicted of shooting woman Reuters Posted: 2008-03-27 13:57:26 NEW YORK (Reuters) - Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma was convicted of assault, weapons possession and coercion Thursday for shooting a woman in the abdomen in a dispute about money in New York. But the New York State Supreme Court jury also cleared her of charges of gang assault, witness tampering, witness intimidation and assault in a separate incident in which her associates are accused of beating up the boyfriend of a witness. The artist, whose real name is Remy Smith, faces five to 25 years in prison. Prosecutors said Remy Ma shot Makeda Barnes-Joseph in July after a night out in New York, thinking she had taken $3,000 from her purse. Defense attorneys had said the shooting was accidental. Remy Ma was nominated for a 2004 Grammy for her part in Terror Squad's song "Lean Back." Reuters/Nielsen -------------------------------------------- I hope the situation is handled the best way possible. My prayers go out 2 her. I'm glad 2 know we shouldn't have 2 expect any music from her though. The real crime was her being nominated for a Grammy.

...but a good point none the less. I know people have sent stuff 2 Overbrook before and gotten it sent back. Your best bet is 2 contact Loretta.

I Am Legend - Alternate Never Before Seen Ending
JumpinJack AJ replied to Ale's topic in Will Smith Movies
I actually liked the alternate ending a bit better. Keep in mind i have no knowledge of the book. I just liked the ending being more happy vs. the one that was obviously more hopefull. Why it was still a bit rushed and/or forced, it's pace seemed a bit better 2 me. Maybe this is becuz i had already seen the movie and knew what 2 expect...i don't know. But personally, i like the alternate ending a bit better. -
That's alot of words. My review would be "Lil' Wayne has no talent and all of his songs suck."
-
Ha ha...Lil' Crappy's career ended a few months after it started. I love how all the dirty south rappers have the most annoying or unoriginal names...Young Joc, Soulja Boy, Lil' Scrappy, Webbie, Baby Boy, Lil' Boosie. Their names are as forgettable and stupid as their songs.

a lot of people all over the world plus mtv's list of the top mc's in the game when you look at the rsponse to the list everyone everywhere agreed MTV doesn't know anything about music anymore...and people who only listen 2 commercial rap don't know anything about Hip-Hop. I was just wondering if anyone in the Hip-Hop community who is an official Hip-Hop head actually likes, respect, tolerates, and doesn't have the desire 2 kill him actually likes him.

Question about someting on BestBuy.com...

I noticed that 2 recently. I doubt they are officially re-releasing it or something...probably just getting a few more out. I guess we'll find out soon. -
LL Cool J interview with Westwood
JumpinJack AJ replied to Da Brakes's topic in Caught in the Middle
Yeah, i don't know what he want 2 work with common fools like Jim Jones. I like his attitude 2 keep on moving in the midst of the waterfall of garbage...but at the same time, i wish there was something 2 do 2 change it. -
CHILLI - Glidin' (forthcoming solo album?) (2006?) Not as good as "Game Proof" but good 2 hear Chilli still at work.

New Busta Rhymes track "Lights, Camera, Action"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
Yeah, i like this alot! I love TR's 80's and 90's stuff...and the more recent R-N-B stuff but i love that emcees are going 2 him. His beats on Snoop's album aren't his best, but it's just good 2 know he's active after it looked like he waz gonna quit for awhile. It's a good comeback for both of them.
