  1. I waz thinkin' the same thing. I've been taping JJ+FP off TV since 1989. I've seen most of the things that have been televised. And since i got a new internet user, i've finally got 2 see the things i missed on utube. So this is all very cool. I waz also thinkin' about how i've never seen "Boom!..." performed live.
  2. Whoa! This is classic! I've been totally listening 2 Code Red alot lately 2. The whole vibe of those perfomances took me back.
  3. Let me break the chain of abuse 2 say "WELCOME 2 THE BOARD!"
  4. Thanx...i might get this. Especially if it's an exclusive. Mariah is still amazing after all these years.
  5. I recently found out that Brand Nubian dropped a new album. I finally picked it up 2day. It features Grand Puba, Lord Jamar, Sadat X, and Alamo. This is an instant classic. For get all the other albums released recently. This is the truth. Their flow and lyrics are consistantly on point (as they've always been) and ever beat is dope. Half of them some of the best beats off the 2000's. "Girls, Girls, Girls" is one of my top favs. Just a classic beat and a laidback flow. "Scientists of Sound" is another fav with a heavy urban thump and some DJ'd vocal samples tossed in the mix. The title track is another one that just makes u nod your head. The vocals clearly take the spot light of song, but the guitars underlying it are classic. "Once Again" reminds me of something i'd vibe with back in the mid-90's...just noddin' my head while sitting on the busted sofa in the basement...no TV, no talking 2 friends...just vibin' with the music. The song just takes me there. "I Wanna Hear It" reminds me of something Q-Tip and Phife would rhyme over between '94 and '98. "A Child Is Born" follows it up with another timeless Hip-Hop sound. "Somebody Told A Lie" has a strong soulful R-N-B vibe but with classic BN lyrics. Any lover of true Hip-Hop will LOVE this album. There's hints of the 80's...a strong 90's vibe, but it's all straight Hip-Hop for the year 2007. Turn off the Kanye's and Jay-Z's...this is the only album that competes with Jazzy's album for the best Hip-Hop album of the year...or Guru's new Jazzmatazz.
  6. SOULS OF MISCHIEF - That's When Ya Lost 93 'Til Infinity (1993)
  7. Has anyone heard Remix of A Nation? Considering the original album is probably my least favorite PE album, i'm very hesitant 2 pick this up.
  8. Delaware is only like one street...shouldn't be hard 2 find. He's probably your neighbor.
  9. But at the same time...if ANYONE other than FP wins, it'll be an insult 2 JMJ. Chuck D is the only other person that represents the old school and truely represents Hip-Hop with a standard.
  10. I used 2 really like this song. But Kanye's sloppy and uninspired flow is starting 2 set in and bore me a bit. This happens 2 alot of Kanye's stuff 4 me. JOHN REUBEN - No Regrets Are We There Yet? (2000)
  11. I'm glad u like it...i waz gonna feel bad if u got and didn't like it...ha ha. FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS - If You're Into It The Distant Future (2007)
  12. Yeah, that "no snitching"code of the hood stuff is just idiotic. At some point u have 2 realize that wrong and right are bigger than the code of the hood. That same fool that u are protecting by keeping your mouth shut can come around and do the same kinda thing 2 your family. All these unsolved murders surrounding Hip-Hop are really aggravating. Some police simply don't care and some of the witnesses are immature cowards. It's in God's hands tho'...justice came be supernaturally fulfilled even if killers are not rotting in a cell.
  13. Tattoo May Crack Jam Master Jay Murder AP Posted: 2007-11-04 11:56:48 Filed Under: Music News NEW YORK (Nov. 4) - The gunman who killed hip hop icon Jam Master Jay has never been identified, but he has what could be a telltale characteristic - a tattooed neck, according to a witness. Randy Allen noted the mystery gunman's tattoo in a story Sunday in the Daily News, marking what the newspaper called his first extensive interview about one of the hip hop world's legendary unsolved slayings. Jay, whose real name was Jason Mizell, was shot dead in his Queens studio on Oct. 30, 2002. Despite a lengthy investigation and substantial reward, the case has been stymied by uncooperative witnesses, investigators say. Allen, Mizell's business partner, told the Daily News he had cooperated completely with investigators and was furious that others had not. "This is a case that can be solved," he said. Allen's name has surfaced repeatedly in the case, as has that of his sister, Lydia High. Reports from four years ago indicated police placed her in protective custody. Recently, her attorney said he had not heard from her in more than a year. Allen told the newspaper he was in the 24/7 studio's control room at the time of the shooting, while his sister was near the studio entrance. Allen said she told him that after two gunmen ordered her to get down on the floor, she saw a man with a tattoo on his neck approach Mizell and fire. A first round injured another person; the second was blasted into Mizell's head from point-blank range. Working with rappers Joe "Run" Simmons and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, Mizell manned the turntables on such 1980s rap classics as "King of Rock," "It's Tricky" and a top-40 remake of Aerosmith's "Walk This Way." -------------- From AOL Newz
  14. JJ+FP - Boom! Shake The Room Code Red (1993) Been awhile since i listened 2 this one.
  15. I hate when people steal an exclusive nickname for one person and give it 2 another...makes no sense.
  16. No way...that track 2 me waz all Todd Smith 2005. While the song waz on the radio a lil,' i remember LL saying in an interview that he really wanted the song 2 be fully promoted cuz he felt people needed 2 hear it. I think it waz a BET inteview. TLC - I Need That (12" Promo) (2000)
  17. Ahhh...when "Wild Wild West" in it's prime. I have this on tape somewhere. Truely an underrated set. JJ+FP with Dru Hill, Kool Moe Dee, and Stevie Wonder. Alot of talent from all across the board on that set. Great choreography and pyro. Tons of energy and costumes are awesome. Makes me actually want FP 2 do another movie-related soundtrack song.
  18. ALVIN + THE CHIPMUNKS - Witch Doctor Soundtrack coming Nov. 20 (2007) Tim, check their myspace page...u'll love it.
  19. SHANICE + SMOOTH - I Like 21...Ways To Grow (1993) Fuq, u made me blow the dust off this album...ha ha.
  20. I think since DMC's sound has changed a bit, with the right set up his shows would be fine. But in the style of an old Run-DMC show, i don't see how it would work very well. I got the 2001 Live Run-DMC show that recently got released and he had 2 rap over his own backtrack 2 fill in the gaps or push the lyrics further for when his voice got swallowed up. It was kinda painful 2 hear him that way since he once had the most powerful voice in Hip-Hop but i still love the album. I waz gonna pick up the DVD for it soon. It waz only $12 or something at Circuite City when i looked 4 it.
  21. Not bad. If JJ+FP would tour, it be interesting 2 see how much further L+F would go...and especially The Return...
  22. BEYONCE + FABOLOUS - Get Me Bodied (Timbaland Remix) Get My Bodied (CD Single) (2007)
  23. There actually waz newz that came out months ago. I actually forget what the article said and i forget how legit it waz. I don't think it's at a "case closed" status, but some head way or a an arrest was made that waz related 2 the murder. Maybe one of us can find that newz.
