  1. Jill's album has been out for a few weeks..maybe a month. It's good. It's missing that ATOJ vibe, but it's still amazing. Angie Stone's album is really good 2. There are a few tracks that i feel fall in the "average" area, but it's definitely one of the best R-N-B albums out in months. J. Holiday's album is bananas and Rihanna's is good (tho' i'm really missin' the dancehall vibe that sprinkled her 1st 2 albums). Keyshia Cole's album is really good...has a 90's overtone 2 it. Jennifer Lopez's album is really good urban/dance/R-N-B/Hip-Hop/Pop mash-up. I haven't listened 2 Kanye's album in weeks...but i still really like it. I'm really missin' Timbaland's less radio-ready sound. I really like half of Justin's album (i love that "Until The End of Time" is getting lots of spins). I'm glad Fergi's album is still going strong. It's sad Will.I.Am's album isn't doing 2 much, cuz his album is one of my recent favz. I'm glad 50 Cent is falling...the EMpire is slowly disolving.
  2. Yeah, i'm in the same place. I still listen 2 it kinda regularly and it doesn't feel old at all. I just watched the live DVD last week. I'm not so worried about a new album. I'd just like 2 know that he's doing a show here or there, thinking about music, and maybe caloborating with a good artist every 6 months or so.
  3. I gotta go off topic 4 one second. Does anyone remember the psyco that used 2 go on the Sony boards and say Nas waz the Anti-Christ??? HA HA!!! He typed out like 10 pages worth of lyrics and stuff saying how they were proof that Nas waz the Anti-Christ. I enjoyed deleting his posts on a regular basis.
  4. I saw the trailor that waz on the Superman / Doomsday DVD and got hyped about the movie. I only get hyped for his movies when i actually see them coming out. That'll probably be the only time i get excited about it until the trailors are running regularly.
  5. Is the album only available on iTunes? I couldn't find it it stores. I hate the music business!!
  6. I waz driving around 2nite and popped in Todd Smith for the 1st time in a long time. Probably a year or so. The album is so much better than what i give it credit 4.
  7. I never thought i'd say this...but 50 Cent has a point. :mygod:
  8. Amen!! The album actually kinda made sense 2 only be that long...but still.
  9. I'm with u on most of that. LL's worst is better than most emcee's. But i'm skeptical about Jay-Z promoting the album properly. Ne-Yo and Rihanna had 3 videos out in 3 months or less. Jay-Z got crazy radio play for himself. LL's last album didn't get any kinda love. It got promoted just as as much as L+F did. Only time will tell.
  10. Yeah, i think this is old newz or recycled newz. Hip-Hop Is Dead waz originally titled this. I think 99% of the time, that word is used in an ignorant way and it's inappropriate. Most of the people who use it ignorant themselves. I gained alot of respect for Nas on the last album, i really hope he isn't trying 2 use this as a title again. I just think it's stupid.
  11. I'm cool with this. The Run-DMC + Kid Rock joint off Crown Royal was a good song....and the song Kid Rock did with DMC for his album waz good. I welcome it. And since Run isn't actually in2 Rap/Rock and he actually likes Kid Rock, i guess it makes sense. I have 2 be in a mood for Kid Rock's music, but when i am, i like it. I welcome it, but what i really want is a straight Hip-Hop album from Run. His solo album waz good but purposely strong on the "throwback factor." I just wanna hear his tongue twisting, witty, and cocky lyrics over some classic Hip-Hop. Anyone hear Kid Rock's new album? I'm just wondering how it is since he's dipped in2 southern rock recently since that isn't really my taste.
  12. Yeah, that's one thing that makes a classic album. The production, why in some ways will ultimately be dated at some point, should not sound like it came out of a time capsule 1 week later. The reason we can have a catorgy albums labeled "classic Hip-Hop" is becuz the sound stands the test of time. If it doesn't sound fresh, then the music itself is flawless. Tracks like Just Kickin' It, Somethin' Like Dis, Shadow Dreams sound just as fresh 2day as they did in 1993. But then u look at Homebase..."Summertime" is timeless, but alot of the rest of the album is totally 1991. However, when u hear trax like "This Boy Is Smooth," the music so brilliant that it doesn't matter if it sounds old. That's why so many still get down to classic Run-DMC, Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, LL Cool J, and Too Short songs. The music is good enough 2 stand the test of time. Other than really disliking foolish people like Lil' Wayne, Hurrican Chris, Huey, etc...i feel bad for how they will be totally fogotten in upcoming years. People are gonna foget trash like "Aye Bay Bay." Even if Lil' Wayne is around for a few more years, his sound is gonna be so dated. L+F definitly has a sound that will stand the test of time, but it's not nearly as good as Willennium. Willennium has alot more soul, alot more weight on it. Lyrically, both albums are classic Fresh Prince. Both albums have a wide span of topics. L+F has a bit more bite...Willennium has FP a lil' more comfortable. Both are dope albums but i don't think i'll like any album more than Willennium until one of the next album beats it.
  13. Hmmmm...random. Seems like this goes on the off-topic board...or the "no clear topic" board. nhawong anyone?
  14. BOYZ II MEN - I've Been Searchin' Winter / Reflections (2005) The Boyz show a simpler side of their vibe on these EPs, but i'm just happy 2 year some new BIIM...well, new 2 me since i didn't even know about this release at 1st.
  15. Same here. Since a few of us usually check the board more than once a day, i'm sure a few of us woud take on more than one if there is a lack of regularly-visiting vets.
  16. ONE LOVE feat. MARKY MARK - That's The Way I Like It (US Original Mix) (Import CD Single) (1995)
  17. If the voting kept going for another 10 years, i wonder which album would be in the lead. I still gotta go with Willennium. It's just classic JJ+FP. L+F is dope, but FP's attitude is slightly off making it an album for THE time... not for ALL time. The sound is dope and multi-flavored just like Willennium, but the beats on Willennium beat Lost + Found since JJ+ATOJ handled most of it. The quality is simply stronger.
  18. NICK CANNON + FATMAN SCOOP - It's Your Birthday (from the ever forthcoming, forthcoming album) (2006)
