  1. I heard the same thing about the hair. She ended up doing herself after what the hairdresser did or was trying 2 do. It's amazing how much we are talking about something so pointless...ha ha.
  2. I think we all were expecting something good...but we weren't expecting 2 much. K. Smith simply hasn't stepped up 2 the plate. And even if he did, i don't think he could meet our expectations simply becuz he isn't that talented.
  3. Why would Milk D waste the tyme?!? HEATHER B - Live MC Eternal Affairs (2002) Just picked this up...great album. Reminds me of what real female emcees sound like.
  4. Yeah, K. Smith is just like the microwaved version of Benny Medina but without true struggle and a self-motivating attitude that would get a TV show loosly based off his life. :paperbag:
  5. This story is unbelievable. I'm not one to support the death penalty...but when i read stuff like this...it makes it hard 4 me 2 still feel that way. -------------------------------------------------------------- Details Emerge in 'Horrific' Torture Case By JOHN RABY and TOM BREEN,AP Posted: 2007-09-12 11:11:59 Filed Under: Crime News BIG CREEK, W.Va. (Sept. 12) - Inside a shed on a remote hillside of this coalfield community, authorities say a young black woman was tortured for days, sexually assaulted, beaten and forced to eat rat droppings. Her captors, all of them white, choked her with a cable cord and stabbed her in the leg while calling her a racial slur, poured hot water over her and made her drink from a toilet, according to criminal complaints. It wasn't until an anonymous tip led Logan County Sheriff's deputies to the property on Saturday that her ordeal ended and she was able to limp to safety, arms outstretched as she cried, "Help me!" "I don't understand such a horrific crime being committed here," said Johnny Meade, pastor of the community's Apostolic Church of God in the Name of Christ Jesus. The FBI is now looking into possible civil rights violations, agency spokesman Bill Crowley said, authorities in West Virginia said they were investigating the case as a possible hate crime. At one point, an assailant cut the woman's ankle with a knife and used the N-word in telling her she was victimized because she is black, authorities said. Investigators are still trying to determine how the woman ended up at the property and whether she knew any of the six people arrested or the two others, suspected of driving her to the home, who are being sought, said Logan County Chief Sheriff's Deputy V.K. Dingess. Police tape now surrounds the entrances to the beige-and-brown mobile home where Megan Williams, 20, was found. An extension cord runs from the home to the cramped shed, which authorities say she was held in with a portable stereo, a locker and a power saw. The Associated Press generally does not identify suspected victims of sexual assault, but Williams and her mother agreed to release her name. Carmen Williams said she wanted people to know what her daughter endured. "I don't understand a human being doing another human being the way they did my daughter," Carmen Williams said Tuesday from her daughter's hospital room. "I didn't know there were people like that out here." The suspects in the case have prior arrest records going back several years, according to records from Logan County Magistrate Court. Logan County Prosecutor Brian Abraham said, "I have some familiarity with all those individuals." Since 1991, police have filed 108 criminal charges against the six. Frankie Brewster, 49, had the most with 33; Alisha Burton, 23, of Chapmanville had 20. The most serious of the previous charges was filed against Brewster, the owner of the Big Creek mobile home. She was charged in 1994 with first-degree murder, but pleaded guilty to lesser charges of manslaughter and wanton endangerment. Brewster was released from prison in 2000 after serving five years in the death of 84-year-old Polly T. Ferrell, court records show. In the Williams case, Brewster, 49, was charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and giving false information during a felony investigation. Brewster's son, Bobby R. Brewster, 24, also of Big Creek, was charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and assault during the commission of a felony. Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, was charged with sexual assault and malicious wounding. Karen Burton, 46, of Chapmanville, was charged with malicious wounding, battery and assault during the commission of a felony. Her daughter, Alisha Burton, and George A. Messer, 27, of Chapmanville, were charged with assault during the commission of a felony and battery. In May, Alisha Burton was accused of striking Messer with a shovel and smashing the window of another woman's car. Burton was charged with domestic assault and battery and destruction of property, court records showed. Those charges are pending. All six remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bail each, and all have asked for court-appointed attorneys. The home is now quiet. Newborn pups sleep in the entryway to the small shed, their mother protectively barking at approaching strangers. Megan Williams' right arm is now in a cast, but she may be well enough to leave the hospital within a few days, her mother said. "I just want my daughter to be well and recover," Carmen Williams said. "I know the Lord can do anything." Associated Press writer Tom Breen in Charleston, W.Va., contributed to this story.
  6. Sorry, J.E. waz originally slated for the 11th...but got bumped back 2 the 25th.
  7. While this topic is up, i just gotta ask this... Why on earth would someone so ugly wanna make themselves uglier. I saw him on the front of a current magazine (maybe XXL or The Source) with Birdman. I've never understood why someone as ugly as Lil' Wayne would grow the long hair, wear grills, and tattoo every inch of his body. Take all the tattoos away, sport your real teeth, and get a clean cut hairstyle and he wouldn't look like his punking himself. I know this has nothing 2 do with his music...but man, he is one ugly guy. And am i the only who prays that a radio edit without raps and adlibs from Lil' Wayne on Lloyd's hit exists somewhere?
  8. People talk about the slump in Rap sales...that's cuz stuff like THIS isn't coming out anymore. And that goes for all of music. Good music is just so hard 2 find these days. It rarely gets on the radar.
  9. The really bad thing is that i think alot of people were rooting 4 her....even people who aren't really fans of hers. We see the things she's gone thru' and the stupid decisions she's made and i think most people wanted this 2 be a comeback that killed all that old stuff. At least people are disappointed in her performing abilities and not her as a person, which is how it's been for 3 years now. Of course this uninspired performance could easily stem from her own attitude. Whoever waz quoted saying "the dance number was spectactular" waz obviously lying. It waz boring...even if Britney wazn't up there only half doing it. It waz pretty wack. If she waz mad the choreographer, i don't blame her. I heard other things on E! yesterday like she waz upset that Sarah Silverman said her babies were "cute mistakes" and stuff like that which upset her so much she didn't even wanna go on.
  10. I watched it 2. The whole thing was akward. I heard on E! that she had this totally different performance planned with magic and illusions. However, at last minute they said that it wazn't going 2 work. So they brought in a choreographer who put 2gether the set that we saw. Apparently Britney wazn't happy with the change or the choreography. Since she wazn't singing, she had 2 dance...cuz that's the only way u can get away with ligsyncing (not that any the of dancing waz complicated enough 2 not sing while she waz doing it). The production of the song was pretty bad 2 (i heard a snippit of it a week or 2 ago). Britney's vocals are kinda limited...but i think a club mix of the song will be really good for pop standards. I also thought her outfit wazn't appropriate at all. Sure, she's gotten in good shape, but she'll never have the body she had back in the early 2000's. She should have used her keen fashion sense instead. She definitely blew it compared 2 her previous standards. The reaction of the audience waz pretty comical. I also heard some of the people's reaction and people from all music genres agreed it waz average at best but supported her none the less. If she doesn't bring it half baked anymore and gets her personal life right, she still has a chance. Her career up thru' 2004 waz huge.
  11. That's hiliarious. I'll give Lil' Wayne one thing. He's incredibly consistant. He's just as untalented and just as ugly as he waz when he started. He truely is one of the worst 2 ever do it. What's even better is that most of these actually fit many rappers who get hits these days.
  12. I like Chamillionaire. I doubt i'll ever call him one of the best emcees but when it comes 2 his commerical counter parts, he's light years ahead of the other guys. Not only does he bring more lyrics and more talent, he actually seems like a smart guy. I'll peep his album 2morrow and if it's good, i'll be sure 2 get it soon. The real release i'm getting 2morrow is the new Jagged Edge album. U can't go wrong with J.E. R-N-B has been consistantly keeping it's head above water commercially. And J.E. are the only ones who are pretty much a sureshot 2 bring a quality R-N-B album...until Usher's next one drops. I just hope it's a be more consistant then their last.
  13. I love how Mary J. Blige called him 50 Cents at the awards 2nite. She jumps on alot of other peoples' songs. But it's clear she isn't schooled on the wack commerical crap such as 50...other wise his name would have been used in a singular version.
  14. ICE CUBE - Friday In The Movies (2007) A random release...but an Ice Cube release none the less.
  15. Good 2 see a new face...welcome!!
  16. The video is alot of fun. I love it. The only problem that remains is that Peedi simply isn't good. Him on the spinning thrown is just as bad as K. Smith wearing the FP necklace.
  17. THE ISLEY BROTHERS w/ 112 + LIL' KIM - Floatin' On Your Love ('Float On' Bad Boy Remix) Floatin' On You Love (CD Single) (1996)
  18. Okay...i've ignored the whole K. Smith thing up until now. I've read the reviews and opinions but never checked him out 4 myself cuz i figured he'd annoy me. Well, i just watched a bunch of those videos. 2 me, he comes off as a misguided kid who seems like he's probably a nice kid but the whole expectation of what a rapper on a commercial level should be has warped his mind. He's definitely gotta get rid of The Fresh Prince chain. I guess FP gave it 2 him 4 good luck but by no means does K. Smith have any part in the JJ+FP legacy. I can see him hanging out with idiots like Young Burg and getting that classic old school chain snatched off his neck. The song "Betterman" isn't awful...but that's as nice as i can put it. Thank God he's not trying 2 come off hardcore and cussing, but his lyrics are weak as is his flow. I give him a C- on the vocal skillz and a C for the beat. Omarion is the only thing the song really has going for it. The video is unimaginative but good. Those interviews are what kills it. He sounds like a fool. How much time can he spend talking about "the ladies" and how many times can he say "it's crazy." His freestyles are about the worse i've EVER heard. The only way i'd even consider buying the album is FP's name is on it. What a disappointment.
  19. Am i doing something wrong? I only get the header and the text on the left side of the screen. Now that i have high speed internet i don't know why it wouldn't be working 4 me.
  20. JJ+FP - Summertime (DJ Jazzy Jeff's SoleFul Remix) Summertime: DJ Jazzy Jeff's 2007 Remixes Promo (2007)
  21. Ha, at least we can agree on that. I think that song with Fall Out Boy sucks. But i don't like Fall Out Boy so that didn't help much in the 1st place. But people are going 2 Timbaland 2 albums. Just ask Justin Timberlake + Nelly Furtado (2 of the biggest artists with 2 of the biggest albums of the past year). Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy, and LL Cool J have also benifited from his executive album producing. Omarion, Bobby Valentino, and Pussycat Dolls all had hits with him this past year. And the big names like Snoop Dogg, Nas, and Jay-Z have all gotten hits with Timbaland in the past. 2 me, Tim is in the in the longevity game alongside Jazzy, Premier, Jay-Dee, Jermaine Durpi.
  22. I finally got his 1st album recently. When it comes the people who have got airplay in the last year, his probably is the one with the best album (compared 2 all the cookie cutter rappers and dirty south bandwagon rappers). I heard "Hip-Hop Police" awhile ago and thought it waz okay. I even got a mixtape with the track on it and didn't care about it 2 much. But i heard it just this week and like it a whole lot more. The production is respectable and lyrically is light years ahead of the stuff on the radio. Not 2 mention having the one and only Slick Rick on the track. I'm anxious 2 get this album...without waiting a year 2 do so.
