  1. DEBORAH COX - Smoke Gets In You Eyes Destination Moon (2007) She's back...i just wish it waz an album of her own songs.
  2. It's not so much that, it's that the top people in the company turning their back on me like that. Things aren't really that bad...just not what they should be. The past 3 days we have been blowing numbers away. So i see good things on the horizon.
  3. I love remixes...but i hate album versions with guest raps added in. Either 2 artists create a song 2gether or it's just kinda stupid 2 record vocals months later 4 a song that's already a hit or a semi-hit. I remember when Beyonce released "Naughty Girl." The song waz pretty average it's original form. Then by the time she released the single, they added a verse from Lil' Flip. Lil' Flip's wack appearance took and average song and made it less likely 2 listen 2 it. Then i got the single and there waz another album version with wack rap from Lil' Kim on it. I just don't get the point of that. Either totally remix it with new production or just leave it alone.
  4. That's my joint!! ELLIOT YAMIN - Wait For You (self-titled) (2007) I looooooooooove this song!!
  5. Silver Tiger, while things are frustrating...realize this. Their truely is 2 different genres. True Hip-Hop and Commercial Rap. Hip-Hop is never changing, always honest, always real, always fun, and usually quality. Commercial Rap is trendy crap that usually isn't any good. Realize that true Hip-Hop music is doing fine. The music that mostly gets radio play is garbage and embarassing. Let your frustration stop with that. I can totally identify with u on what u are feeling. Lil' Wayne has been a hot mess since he released his 1st single.
  6. I'm not sure, i've only heard it on the radio. I have a semi-local radio station that plays R-N-B, Neo-Soul, and classic R-N-B. However, during the Steve Harvey Morning Show and the Michael Bayston Show, they occasionaly play some Hip-Hop. I'm sure someone can find the song somewhere on the internet. I've been meaning 2 look 4 it myself. I'm sure the album will be released sometime kinda soon.
  7. I'm hoping 2 get some prayer support on my recent situation. Many of u know, i run a photography studio, which has been a blessing. I've learned so much, had so much fun, and started getting my life settled. I can humbly say i'm great at what i do, my employees love me and so do my customers. Anyways, in the past month or 2 my numbers have been pretty crappy. We just aren't making money the way we should be. It's been stressing me for awhile now and it's killing my passion 4 the business. It seems like i've been sacraficing so much of myself to make it happen and now i'm more than burned out and dying 4 a vacation. Anyways, i just got a 30 Day Action Plan...which means i need 2 change these numbers around NOW or they are gonna consider getting rid of me. It's amazing how u can work somewhere for over 5 years, generate success and sales, climb up the ranks, and give your all...and once things getting kinda crappy, they can treat u like crap. Why i still have it in me 2 fix this, it's very frustrating, embarassing, and stressful. I guess i'm just asking the passion to keep on, the drive to make things happen, the skill to bring the whole team up, and then to finally get 2 unwind and start 2 enjoy life again. Thanx in advance!!
  8. I liked Crown Royal too. Run-DMC waz just making a comeback in a modern kinda way. They were just about 2 start work on their next album when JMJ was murdered. Run-DMC fans can only imagin how good that waz gonna turn out since they were back in the limelight. Back 2 LL tho'....even as one of his biggest fans in the whole world, i'm hesitating 2 check this song. LL is a legend. He's one of the best who's ever done it...PERIOD. When i heard he waz doing this album with 50 as his sidekick. I knew the music would suffer. I understand Jay-Z is a joke as the head of a label and that he isn't gonna show a true artist like LL real love. I understand that the label formally known as Def Jam no longer holds any similar standards that it had when Russell was there. I understand that commerical rap fans ignored half of LL's current singles cuz he's not a cuss-infested rhyme-writer who pretends 2 be hardcore. I understand that the music biz, Jay-Z's label, and 50's help must be unmotivational. I understand LL just wants 2 get this album out and get off Def Jam. Why i expected the music 2 suffer some, i didn't expect it 2 suffer as much as it seems from most of the reactions in this post. I guess i'll just support LL thru' this and anxiously wait 4 the next album he drops which i'm sure will be true 2 his style.
  9. My friends who saw it sait it waz average...about as good as the 1st one and possibly a bit better. Since i have a free movie pass for it, i'll watch the 1st one and see it this week probably.
  10. SHAQUILLE O'NEAL - Shoot Pass Slam Shaq Diesel (1993)
  11. Yeah, it seems like only fools in colorful costumes are raising kids on TV these days. That's fine and all, but i think there needs 2 be a better balance of real people 2.
  12. Get Ready for Will Smith in "I AM LEGEND" Posted Jun 7th 2007 1:06PM by Wilson Morales Filed under: It's All Reel Update: The teaser trailer for the Will Smith film, I AM LEGEND, is now online. Robert Neville (Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable...and manmade. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City...and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by "the Infected"-victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path. For three years, Neville has spent his days scavenging for food and supplies and faithfully sending out radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. All the while, the Infected lurk in the shadows, watching Neville's every move, waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But his blood is also what The Infected hunt, and Neville knows he is outnumbered and quickly running out of time. I AM LEGEND comes out on December 14, 2007. Reader Comments 1. That I believe is going to be a great movie Will is so talented I could just see him in the movie right now. I think he is going to be great and I think they picked the right man for the part. You go boy I guess one day they will give the perfect man an Oscar you deserve it especially for "Ali" and "The Pursuit of happiness" that one made me cry,he was so real him and his little cutie and so many others that it would take all day to name.So if he reads this I'm praying for you Will Smith. Lynett Lewis at 1:51PM on Jun 7th 2007 2. this sound amazing like the OMega man starring Charlton heston... ernest Brown at 2:00PM on Jun 7th 2007 3. It's a remake of "Omega Man" which was a remake of "The Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price. kim akins at 3:18PM on Jun 7th 2007 4. Just what I've been waiting for....another Will Smith movie! I can't wait to see it 50 times like all his others. pee jay at 12:43AM on Jun 8th 2007 5. Wil Smith is blessed. He can turn any project into a box office success. In this case, the virus won. Mankind has mutated and Wil missed the bus. It's just a matter of time before he falls asleep and rejoins the race. One person always makes a difference until his bullets run out. The angry mob wins. Cecil Jones at 5:00AM on Jun 8th 2007 6. I love will Smith. I think he's one of great black actor. Anything he's in I'd see.It looks good. james at 8:59AM on Jun 10th 2007 7. I thought this movie was a remake of an old Harry Belafonte movie called "The World, The Flesh and The Devil" which came out in 1959. The plot of that movie seems to be more similar to I Am Legend, rather than Omega man. Maybe Omega Man is a remake of that movie, who knows. I can't wait to see it just the same. Kim at 6:18PM on Jun 10th 2007 8. This movie is based on the book by Richard Matheson I Am Legend, not The Omega Man One of the most influential vampire novels of the 20th century, I Am Legend regularly appears on the "10 Best" lists of numerous critical studies of the horror genre. As Richard Matheson's third novel, it was first marketed as science fiction (for although written in 1954, the story takes place in a future 1976). A terrible plague has decimated the world, and those who were unfortunate enough to survive have been transformed into blood-thirsty creatures of the night. Except, that is, for Robert Neville. He alone appears to be immune to this disease, but the grim irony is that now he is the outsider. He is the legendary monster who must be destroyed because he is different from everyone else. Employing a stark, almost documentary style, Richard Matheson was one of the first writers to convince us that the undead can lurk in a local supermarket freezer as well as a remote Gothic castle. His influence on a generation of bestselling authors--including Stephen King and Dean Koontz--who first read him in their youth is, well, legendary. --Stanley Wiater --This text refers to the Paperback edition. Thomas Mack at 10:39AM on Jun 11th 2007 9. It seems to be a great movie. I'm going to mark that on my calendar. So I can take the family to see it. I hope this will give him an Oscar. He should've got it for The Pursuit Of Happyness. He was great in that I cried during the movie, and after I saw the Oscars when he lost. But its okay 3 is a charm. So we all should keep our fingers cross. He is a hard worker. I can see that he really wants the Oscar. Sheida at 11:03AM on Jun 11th 2007 10. Looks like another great choice for Will. In the pursuit of happiness was incredible and his son seems to be talented as well. I can't wait to see it. Brandon at 7:24PM on Jun 11th 2007 11. This movie seems like it's going to be another hit as well as his previous movie. I am looking forward to watching this movie when it comes out. I love Will Smith. He is a great, inspiring, and talented actor. LaShanda Anderson at 11:30PM on Jun 11th 2007 12. He's worked on this film for over a year and half so this will add to his Sci Fi resume as BLOCKBUSTER because the book was great! Will has mos def grown into a exceptional actor. Jayce005 at 6:12AM on Jun 12th 2007 13. I stated this befor, Will and Dana (QL) is what hip hop is to me. Both Urbanites (somewhat) rappers and did not have to start a beef or get shout for the success they have achieved. My kangol is off to Will. Keep doin what you doin bruh.....Next we will see Common Blow up. Even though 50 Cents is getting his, he need to take notes. He need to know he not on the block no more..not that he is wanted or respected there. BigGntl at 10:25AM on Jun 12th 2007 14. thanks thomas mack now i dont have to spent $10.00 on a movie ticket.... wendy r at 12:16AM on Jun 13th 2007 15. It's gonna be a great movie. But actually it's a remake of the "last man on Earth". But anyway, Will smith brings his personal touch! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We want to see "Bad Boys 3" with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith Posted Jun 11th 2007 6:25PM by Wilson Morales Filed under: It's All Reel With so many franchises putting out their third film this summer such as "Spider-Man 3", Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", "Shrek The Third", "Ocean's Thirteen", "The Bourne Ultimatum", and "Rush Hour 3", there's a film out there that I know fans really want to see, and that is "Bad Boys 3" with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. No other African American pairing had been so much fun to watch since Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier did "Uptown Saturday Night" and "Let's Do It Again" decades ago. If Lawrence and Smith were to do another one, it will be very costly to produce since each of them make over $20 million per picture, but with a producer like Jerry Bruckheimer, that shouldn't be an issue. In speaking to Martin Lawrence recently , he entertained the possibility. Martin Lawrence: That's up to (Producer) Jerry Bruckheimer and (Director) Michael Bay and Will Smith. I'm ready if they call. While Bruckheimer has the sequel to "National Treasure" coming out later this year, he should remember that "Bad Boys 2" struck gold at the box office worldwide and a third film would cost less than Pirates 3 and still make money. What do you think? Wouldn't a third film be fun watch? Reader Comments 1. Bad Boys 3 would be worth the money to go watch at the movies since both of these black men are very good looking and they are so funny Starchild at 7:06PM on Jun 11th 2007 2. I would LOVE to see them again... they work so well together, you can tell there is a natural chemistry and comraderie and that comes across on screen. I would definately see it... on opening day too! : )) I press at 8:00PM on Jun 11th 2007 3. Bad Boy 3 would be HOT!!! Looking forward to that one. Authentic Coach footwear http://executees.net Tracy Wright at 8:15PM on Jun 11th 2007 4. I know this Movie will be great me and my son love both Bad boys 1 and 2 and are looking for 3 Chris Miller at 8:28AM on Jun 12th 2007 5. I would not care to see Martin Lawrence in anything. He's not a trained actor. Lawrence is the king of modern-day minstrels and black buffoons in hollywood, and he is not genuinely funny. It's 2007: When will the first movie be made, by blackfilmmakers, about the black holocaust? Black people need to stop confining themselves to laughter in film and TV sitcoms, while these Negroes grin and take our money to the bank (or do drugs, as in Lawrence's case). We need to start creating books, magazines, theatre, music and film that teaches our children where they come from, instead of keeping them distracted with comedy while opportunities and people of other ethnicities pass them by. Ronald E. Childs at 9:08AM on Jun 12th 2007 6. Ronald, Stop being so bitter. We need a little laughing to survive. Bad Boys 3 would be great move. So are you watch the white movies and let them take your money to the bank and drugs. Grow up. Who gave you a bad number? Ms. Badddddddddddd at 11:48AM on Jun 12th 2007 7. I would definitely go to see it. Marty Mart is the man and I always see his movies. KLD at 1:34PM on Jun 12th 2007 8. Why? 2 was garbage! Erick at 3:46PM on Jun 12th 2007 9. Why would you wanna see BAD BOYS 2, the sequel was crap and veeeery UNFUNNY. Besides, movies don't work in three's, all three's suck! bigbaby at 9:49AM on Jun 13th 2007 10. Bigbaby, movies do work in threes. If bad boys 3 come out, I, and so many others will watch it. Here in Florida at 2:27PM on Jun 13th 2007 11. bb3 would be what's up! Martin is a very blessed and a very talented and funny actor. He just finished an incredible film directed by Spike Lee's cousin, Malcolm Lee, that trust me when I tell you is sure to become a family classic. You can't fake the funk alongside other vets like Mr. James Earl Jones (plays Martin's father); Margaret Avery (His mother); Monique (his sister); Michael Clark Duncan (His brother) Cedric the Entertainer (His play brother); Mike Epps (his cousin); Joy Bryant (his love interest) and Nicole Ari (a good old friend). Trust me when I tell you everyone's about to feel for real Martin's acting chops - there's drama; romance; comedy and rich family heritage the likes of which we haven't seen in a while. Come on haters, what have you done to lift up society lately? darice at 5:50PM on Jun 13th 2007 12. I really love will smith, in all of his movies. looking at him now he looks sick, lots of weight lost. are he on drugs are what, not looking to good these days. Patricia Hightower at 6:28AM on Jun 14th 2007 13. Damn what's Ronald's problem? Will is not a "trained" actor either. What black holocost is he talking about? There have been plenty of slave films so I guess he is talking about some other event I am unaware of. As for Bad Boy 3, I guess it has an audience, but I didn't like 1 or 2. Bird at 7:22AM on Jun 14th 2007 14. Patricia, Will has not lost weight that I am aware of, but he is getting older. All the plastic surgery in Hollyweird may have made us forget about that little fact of life, but it will surely happen if we are blessed. I like him with or without the grey. It's cool if he colors it, but personally I think being confident in who you are is ultra sexy. Bird at 7:26AM on Jun 14th 2007 15. WHAT!? THIS MOVIE WILL BE CRAZY IF THEY MAKE A 3 Both of Them R Funny
  13. EDDIE LEVERT SR. + GERALD LEVERT - I Like It Something To Talk About (2007) I never saw this album coming!! GL fans need 2 scoop this up...Circuit City has a version w/ a bonus DVD...only $9.99. If u loved their 1st duet album back in '96...and all of their other individual work, u love this.
  14. Ha! I love it. I'm glad they are officially releasing that joint w/ Biz. The only thing that really needs 2 change is taking off "BNF2K7" and replacing it with the remix featuring FP...anybody but Peedi Wack.
  15. BRANDY: Her 'Story' Exposed Posted Jun 11th 2007 1:19PM by Karu F. Daniels Filed under: Entertainment Newswire By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices If you think you've known Brandy, you haven't seen anything yet. The BV Newswire has learned that the former multimedia superstar will be the subject of an E! channel expose which will detail how she went from singing in a Mississippi church to rise to international stardom. The show also talks in detail about her professional ups and downs. "Brandy: The E! True Hollywood Story" will premiere June 23 at 6pm et/pt on E! Following in the path of a niche that was carved out by late hip-hop soul starlet Aaliyah, Brandy Ryanna Norwood stormed the music scene with her infectious pop and soul sensibilities. Previously known as a TV actress (on ABC's short-lived sitcom 'Thea'), the camera-ready musical prodigy seemed poised for mainstream success -- which she did achieve with a string of chart-topping singles, including 'Baby,' 'I Wanna Be Down' and 'Brokenhearted.' From there, the precocious teen morphed into a superstar -- with a starring role in the TV show ('Moesha'), a CoverGirl contract, movie roles ('Cinderella' and 'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer,' respectively) and a Mattel doll. She garnered a Grammy Award for the record-breaking hit single duet 'The Boy Is Mine' (with Monica). Along the way, she dealt with personal insecurities, a string of high-profile relationships (with then sought after black, rich young bachelors Kobe Bryant, Wanya Morris, Mase, and Quentin Richardson), and tragic loss including her involvement in the highly-publicized car accident that resulted in a fatality last December. On the show, close associates, co-stars and industry colleagues sit with E! to disclose the personal and professional ups and downs of the young star, who when life spun out of control, never lost sight of her dream. Some highlights below... Producer Chris Stokes on the fatal car accident -- "I was just so overwhelmed and so sorry for the family and so sorry for Brandy. I was completely a loss for words." 'Moesha' co-star Sheryl Lee Ralph on the fatal car accident – "I do not believe that Brandy got up, got in her car with the intention to hit somebody." Producer Mike City on Brandy's debut album – "To find out that she was only 14 years old, it sounded like she was 24. I was like this is crazy." Former 'Vibe' magazine chief Emil Wilbekin on Brandy's mother taking over as her manager – "Sonja is definitely a pit bull, but I think she at the end of the day has Brandy's best interest at heart." 'Moesha' producer Ralph Farguhar on Brandy's initial reading for the show – "She was horrible. I called up my wife, I said 'I'm dead. I just sold the network a bag of smoke.'" Sheryl Lee Ralph on show fans during their cross-country tour – "Oh we got trampled with the police and everything, everybody trying to get us to safety. It was just Moesha madness." 'Moesha' co-star Countess Vaughn on rumors of her fighting with Brandy – "What really pissed me off was because we were 15 years old, and these adults were coming in on an argument that would've blown over, but it didn't because of the outside and the media." 'Moesha' co-star Shar Jackson on Brandy's hectic schedule – " It got to a point where I'd see her, we'd spend the whole day together, and the only thing I saw her eat was a trail mix or something." Sheryl Lee Ralph on Brandy's breakdown – "She just flat passed out. She was exhausted. She just passed out. That was it, boom." Countess Vaughn on Brandy giving birth to daughter Sy'rai – "I believe it changed her life. She really brought something out of Brandy." Shar Jackson on tragic death of co-star Merlin Santana in 2002 – "It hit her hard. It his us all really, really hard, but we were all there and being really, really supportive of each other." Shar Jackson on tragic death of co-star Lamont Bentley in 2005 – "Losing Lamont, we're still not through that." Music super-producer David Foster on Brandy – "She definitely caught lightning in a bottle and beat the odds because there's so many actors that are actors because the singing thing didn't work out, but she is one of the few that made the cross." Through archival footage, Brandy also speaks on her relationships. About her mother, she said, ""People hate on my mom so much, like they say, 'Well, Brandy's mom needs to let her grow up.' And sometimes she can be like a little over protective, but I don't know what I would do without her." About the faux marriage to producer Robert Smith -- her daughter's father, she said, "Unfortunately, I didn't have the love so I had to be brave and say this is not where I want to be. I'm not happy. I need to move on." About breaking up with Morris, who is believed to be her first love, she shared, "It's kind of hard because that was my only boyfriend in the whole world, so I'm still getting over him. I still can think about it and cry."
  16. Anyone else grow up watching Mr. Wizard in the 80's? ------------------ TV's 'Mr. Wizard' Don Herbert Dies at 89 By LYNN ELBER AP LOS ANGELES (June 13) -- Don Herbert, who as television's "Mr. Wizard" introduced generations of young viewers to the joys of science, died Tuesday. He was 89. Herbert, who had bone cancer, died at his suburban Bell Canyon home, said his son-in-law, Tom Nikosey. "He really taught kids how to use the thinking skills of a scientist," said former colleague Steve Jacobs. He worked with Herbert on a 1980s show that echoed the original 1950s "Watch Mr. Wizard" series, which became a fond baby boomer memory. In "Watch Mr. Wizard," which was produced from 1951 to 1964 and received a Peabody Award in 1954, Herbert turned TV into an entertaining classroom. On a simple, workshop-like set, he demonstrated experiments using household items. "He modeled how to predict and measure and analyze. ... The show today might seem slow but it was in-depth and forced you to think along," Jacobs said. "You were learning about the forces of nature." Herbert encouraged children to duplicate experiments at home, said Jacobs, who recounted serving as a behind-the-scenes "science sidekick" to Herbert on the '80s "Mr. Wizard's World" that aired on the Nickelodeon channel. When Jacobs would reach for beakers and flasks, Herbert would remind him that science didn't require special tools. "'You could use a mayonnaise jar for that,"' Jacobs recalled being chided by Herbert. "He tried to bust the image of scientists and that science wasn't just for special people and places." Herbert's place in TV history was acknowledged by later stars. When "Late Night with David Letterman" debuted in 1982, Herbert was among the first-night guests. Born in Waconia, Minn., Herbert was a 1940 graduate of LaCrosse State Teachers College and served as a U.S. Army Air Corps pilot during World War II. He worked as an actor, model and radio writer before starting "Watch Mr. Wizard" in Chicago on NBC. The show moved to New York after several years. He is survived by six children and stepchildren and by his second wife, Norma, his son-in-law said. A private funeral service was planned.
  17. DONNY HATHAWAY - Someday We'll Be Free A Donny Hathaway Collection (1990)
  18. Is this a "homemade" video or something? The live performace of the song that i saw b4 the album dropped makes me look at the song in a slightly different way than most people. At this point, i think we should put up every performace we can find. Not just 4 us...but as promotion. Otherwise, those live performances are just gonna disappare...never 2 be seen again.
  19. ENREQUE IGLESIAS - On Top of You Insomniac (2007)
  20. I just think the whole thing is hilarious. What an idiot!? The overdramics of that article are just hilarious. I can't stand her...that picture totally balances out all the idiotic, unintellegent, and unoriginal things she's done thinking she waz a diva or an "entertainer." Nobody wants 2 go 2 jail. Suck it up and taking it like a woman. I'm with TopDawg...how can u think "it's not fair" that u could do something stupid like driving drunk and risking the lives of other people, and that a few days in jail is unfair. That whole family is just stupid. Props 2 the judge for not letting her, her family, and fools in the police department get away with her getting out early 4 no reason at all.
  21. Legendary emcee Chubb Rock (biggest hit "Treat Me Right") has a new joint out!! I don't know the title (Old School Flava or something) but it's dope. Anyone who loves 80's and early 90's Hip-Hop will love this joint. Chubb has regularly addressed the embarassing state of the commercial front of Hip-Hop and Rap...this song gives props 2 it's truest era. It shouts out all the classic countless artists and groups of the artform...EPMD, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, MC Lyte, EPMD, Eric B. + Rakim, KRS-One, Dana Dane, etc). Why i don't know the exact lyric, he has a line in there that says something like "DJ Jazzy Jeff have the turntables shook...(something)...Will Smith from Overbrook." Anyways, reguardless of the JJ+FP shout out, if u love true Hip-Hop...check Chubb Rock's new party joint. I have a feeling his new album will be part of the soundtrack 2 my summer. Great feel-good party song!!
