TOBYMAC + BOOTSY COLLINS - Diverse City Welcome To Diverse City (2004)
-
I kinda figured that...but it was hilarious in the movie. :3-laugh3:
-
I got it back in 2000ish...i haven't listened 2 it since. I don't really remember the track. I didn't think it sounded bad tho.' Just something different.
-
That's why it's "based on a true story"...cuz it's not literally a true story. Besides $250 a week doesn't really get u anything anyway. To me, that doesn't make the real story less impressive.

I actually have a CD single from Timbuktu from like 2000. I won a Hip-Hop CD on ebay and the seller sent me a few other singles with it for free. I'm trying 2 think of some of the people who have come outta Maryland. Here's a short list... Jada, Johnny Gill, Toni Braxton, Tamar Braxton + The Braxtons, Dru Hill, Ginuwine, Delious (from All-4-One), and Kev Brown (i think). There's a handful of others but i they aren't coming 2 mind.

IS AMERICAN IDOL READY FOR MICHAEL JACKSON?
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
I dont' think American Idol is a bad show...or even reality TV. It's undiscovered talent competing 4 the spotlight. In the early part of the season they show both the good and the bad. Most of the final few singers are actually very talented. On top of that, there's nothing fake about it and it's family friendly. It's one of the highest rated shows of all time. I think it would be a great place 4 MJ 2 make an appearance. Besides, most of the singers are probably MJ fans. -
This is my 3rd V-Day being single. I don't know about anyone else, but it doesn't even feel like V-Day when u are single. It made me think back 2 when i wazn't single...which waz kinda sad cuz i always did V-Day up real big and always had alot of fun. Oh well, i have a feeling next year will be V-Day again.

Will Wacko Jacko Bring Glove to "Idol"? Posted Feb 13th 2007 1:10PM by TMZ Staff Filed under: American Idol Courtney Love on "American Idol" -- intriguing. Michael Jackson on "Idol" -- shocking! It could happen, though, if certain hints dropped by "Idol" producers are to be believed. Realitytvmagazine.com reports that "several signs" point to the possibility that Michael Jackson will have his own "Idol" theme-week, and might even "mentor" the impressionable young talent on the show. Why all the Jackson buzz? First of all, "Idol" producers have hinted for weeks at a "big event show" during this season. Also, reports have swirled that Jackson has turned to "Idol" creator Simon Fuller to help revive his flagging career, perhaps involving a comeback show in Las Vegas. Finally, in a recent conference call, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe explained the show's impenetrable wall of silence around contestants, and used Jackson as an example, saying they wouldn't want it to "slip out with somebody telling their mom that Michael Jackson is coming." Would a savvy operator like Lythgoe really let such a big scoop just slip? Reps for the show had no comment. A rep for Michael Jackson could not immediately be reached.

I could only see that as taboo. I mean, listen 2 some of the remixes people have done over the years. Some of them are awful...the beats don't even match the vocals half the time. This masterpiece is lucky enough to be pretty untouched. I can't even say i'd want Jermaine Durpi, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Rodney Jerkins, or Timbaland 2 be allowed 2 touch it...and they are amoungst my favorite producers.

The Best of DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
JumpinJack AJ replied to Hero1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
That's what they do with legendary artists. They keep putting compilations and greatest hits albums out. Some are top-notch stuff with pictures, liner notes, and rare stuff....some have very common stuff with no bells -n- whistles. It's just the way things go. I think this greatest hits collection is perfect. Every single is on there in order of it's release and in the form it waz released in (remixes, radio edits, etc). I don't mind the cheap stuff like "Before The Willennium" either. It's not really anything new...i'm just happy 2 be getting something new. Anyone who is underrating The Very Best of JJ+FP needs 2 get their head right. -
I agree with everything u said. Lyrically, the song's poetic approach is great. But musically, it's a sleeper.

dj jazzy jeff and the fresh prince 2007 grammys?
JumpinJack AJ replied to eagle1's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Let's not start the un-true rumors 2 soon. -
Exactly. I love that the acappella isn't available. Remixes are cool...infact i love them. But some some songs simply shouldn't be touched. "Summertime" is one of those songs. I think the few remixes that do exist are rare occasions where they turned out great. DJ Jazzy Jeff's Remix waz just as big as the album version back in the day. And then on the single, all off the remixes were essentially the album version but with an instrument, a sample, a vocal, and/or a sound added or taken out....not a full-on remix. The remix done 4 Old School Vs. New School waz different and really good...and the SoulPower ones for Greatest Hits were really good 2. But i wouldn't even want some amature remixers or blenders messing up the classic.

Here's an article that i came across. I think that it's discusting that people can just pry in2 stories like this. I don't think anyone truely respects her as a real entertainer or anything, but that's no excuse 2 have all these people coming out of the woodwork 2 say something. Stuff like this isn't even newz if u ask me. -------------------- Anna Nicole Smith 911 Tapes Made Public AP HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (Feb. 13) - Anna Nicole Smith was unresponsive and not breathing when an Indian tribe's police department requested help from paramedics, according to a tape released Tuesday. Recent Developments Surrounding Smith's Death In the 31-second call, the Seminole tribal police department asked Hollywood paramedics for help in assisting Smith, who was found unconscious in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on the tribe's reservation. "She's not breathing, and she's not responsive. She's, um, actually Anna Nicole Smith," the woman from the Seminole Police is heard saying in asking for help in Room 607. "Oh, OK," a woman at the Hollywood Police Department responds. Smith, a former Playboy playmate, model and reality TV character, was pronounced dead about an hour later at a hospital. The tape of the conversation was released by the Hollywood Police Department. The tape of the original 911 call to the tribal police was not released. Smith's partner, Howard K. Stern, wasn't with her when she died, but he had been there that morning, and he knew she was very sick, his sister, Bonnie Stern, said. Smith was running a fever of 105 degrees, and a nurse was "icing her down" earlier that day, she said. "When he left her, she was sleeping," she said. Howard Stern had been gone only about two hours when news reached him that Smith was dead, his sister said. Bonnie Stern, who recently traveled from her Beverly Hills home to the Bahamas to comfort her brother, said he had tried to get Smith to visit a doctor but Smith had refused because she was afraid that it would draw publicity. Stern Last Saw Anna SleepingSmith, Stern Were Planning WeddingSmith's Mother Says Stern Isn't FatherAnna Nicole, Bahamian Official Photos LeakGabor Husband Seeks Custody of Smith BabyAnna Nicole Coverage Draws IreSmith's Mother in the BahamasMore Smith News on TMZ"They had plans to get a yacht and to buy an engagement ring. They were going to get married Feb. 27. It was going to be a real marriage," she said. Asked what she thought caused Smith's death, Bonnie Stern said: "Her immunity was so low. She was so depressed. She kept getting sick and her body just probably broke down." Smith had never recovered from the loss of her 20-year-old son, Daniel, who died in the Bahamas in September while visiting his mother and newborn half-sister at a hospital, friends said. She had also spent a decade battling in court over the estate of her late husband, the 90-year-old Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. Alex Goen, the founder and CEO of TrimSpa, knew Smith well from working with her as a company spokesmodel and said she suffered from social anxiety, as well, even after years in the celebrity spotlight. "She was clearly incredibly misunderstood," Goen told CBS's "The Early Show" on Tuesday. Smith had gone through drug rehabilitation in the past, and her mother, Vergie Arthur, has blamed drugs for her daughter's death. Smith had met Stern in 1996 when she was referred to his law firm, Bonnie Stern said. "He started doing her legal work and then he became her confidant. They became best friends and then he fell in love with her," she said. Stern, 38, is listed on a birth certificate as the father of Smith's baby girl. He said in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that he is the executor of a will drafted for Smith that will leave everything to the little girl, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. Another man, Larry Birkhead, also claims to be the father, and actress Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, recently said he had a decade-long affair with Smith and might be the baby's father. Von Anhalt said Monday that he plans to file a paternity challenge in court and wants a DNA test. Birkhead told New York's Daily News that he and Smith had meticulously planned for the birth of the child, but that after they broke up he was pushed to the side. "Howard has never liked me and he never wanted me and Anna to be together," Birkhead, 34, told the Daily News in Tuesday's editions. "After she got pregnant, things went quickly downhill because of his difference of opinion on several matters." Birkhead recounted how he had tried to save Smith from her risky lifestyle. He said Smith left him because of his attempts to intervene. The couple split early last summer. "I watched over her to make sure she was safe, and once I was basically pushed to the side," he said, "I had no control over what she did or anyone else around her did." Bonnie Stern said "there were times of some intimacy" between Birkhead and Smith, but said, "Larry Birkhead was not her boyfriend." Associated Press Pv8ial Correspondent Linda Deutsch in Los Angeles contributed to this report.

ALL-4-ONE - Men Are Supposed To Cry Split Personality (2004) These guys needs some big label support again.

I highly doubt that would ever happen. After all, this website is based on a Hip-Hop group that hasn't released a full studio album in 14 years...and look how strong it's been going.

I've been more than busy for over a year now. I've been running my photography studio with half the management team i actually need. I've spent the last year becoming an expert at the business. I haven't really gotten 2 do anything for myself. I've needed a new car since July, i've needed 2 start looking for my own place and all of that. Usually when i am hitting up the board, i should be going 2 sleep...ha ha. I'm hoping that over the next few months i can get my life back. I'm actually doing a musical for the 1st time in a year...so cramming in time 2 do things 4 me.

Did either of those events get official statements from those behind the specials? I don't think so. I always assumed one of us heard something with no real basis 2 it and everyone got hyped on the chance that it might happen.

Kanye, Nas, Rakim, KRS Collaborate On Track
JumpinJack AJ replied to ash trey's topic in Caught in the Middle
I'll have 2 check that track. Rakim and KRS-One is something i've always wanted. Nas, being Hip-Hop's frontman when it comes 2 repping real Hip-Hop on the mainstream front seems appropriate 2. Kanye West will never be on their level...but if he brings his best, i guess he can earn a cameo beside them. As long as it's not egotisictal Kanye, i'm fine with it. He hasn't done anything in the past month or 2 that has annoyed me. Him playing along with Common Sense making fun of him last nite on The Grammys waz fun 2 watch 2. Alot of good guests are coming out 4 the event. The idea of celebrating a shoe is about the dumbest thing i've ever heard tho.'
