  1. Ha ha...i waz listening 2 that earlier 2day!! KIRK FRANKLIN - Imagin Me Hero (20050
  2. 2 me, "Chosen One" is dope...but just a bit 2 common. It doesn't pop as much as the other bonus trax. "Coming To The Stage" has the high energy and that "single-ready" quality 2 it...but something about "We Won't" is a bit more down and dirty...a bit more of an edge. 2 me it's a toss up.
  3. I wouldn't call it a compliment really. It's just a name drop in my opinion. Crappy rappers always name drop the legends in hopes of being viewed as if they are on their level.
  4. T-BOZ - Touch Myself Fled Soundtrack (1996)
  5. Yeah, i didn't know KRS-One waz dropping a new album this week. I saw it in stores when i got Busta's. It waz hard 2 NOT get KRS's...i might 2morrow...but i really wanted 2 shop around 4 the best price. I guess when it comes 2 quality music, u can't be 2 picky about the price tho.'
  6. The Soul Mixtape is easy 2 find. It's in most music stores. In The House (the house mixtape) is a little harder 2 find. I get all of JJ+FP's stuff as soon as it drops (or as soon as i can find it)...and it took me months 2 get In The House.
  7. My mom has been having some health problems out of no where. She does have a not-so-serious condition that has doctors saying that she probably has another 10 years or so that she is fine with. But recently she's had a few things going on (that i don't even know about) that are making things really hard for. It's about 1 in the morning and my dad just took her 2 the emergency room. I'm sure she'll be fine, but it's still not a good feeling. It's amazing how u can be 26 years old, grown, and have gone thru' so much in life...but still get really scared and upset like a lil' kid when something happens to your mother. Right now my life is very busy and i'm very much a worn-out, unbalanced shell of myself. So to have stuff like this, it just makes if feel like the world is on my shoulders (and i'm not even the one with the health problems). I guess i'm just asking 4 some prayers 4 her and that life for all of us can get back 2 normal very soon. Right now is real bad time 4 stuff like this 2 happen. My parents just celebrated their 30th anniversary this week and they are going on a week-long vacation next week. Thanx 2 those of u comin' thru' 4 me on this one.
  8. I agree with that. If u only heard them on Born To Reign, u didn't get the proper repersentation of what they are about and what they do.
  9. This is best Hip-Hop album released so far this year. The harder edge that LL's album waz missing is found here. The top notch production that Ice Cube's album is missing is here. The album isn't perfect, but it's one of the best Hip-Hop albums released in a long time. Here's my review. BUSTA RHYMES - THE BIG BANG GET YOU SOME - This is actually a weak album opener. The beat is very traditional of commerical Hip-Hop. Q-Tip and Marsha Ambrosius (of Floetry) make forgetable appearances on the hook. Busta shines on the track, but that's cuz Dre's beat is boring and the hook is underdone. TOUCH IT - If u haven't heard this song...u are living under a rock...and are still waiting for the results from the LL/Kool Moe Dee battle 2 come in. It's a high energy, Swizz Beatz B-level club banger. Like a handful of Busta's singles...they are perfect for commerical radio...but filler compared 2 the rest of the music on his albums. HOW WE DO IT OVER HERE - This keeps in tradition with the 1st 2 commerical rap beats. I like Missy, but she doesn't bring 2 much 2 the track. It sounds like alota stuff she's done b4. NEW YORK $#!+ - Now this is where the album picks up. DJ Scratch brings the goods on this one. The beat is dope...flawless...timeless. The song is just big-uping NY, but lyrically and flow wise, Busta brings it. This one is dope...i can't get over it. BEEN THROUGH THE STORM - We flow right in2 another dope one. The steady beat features a brilliant piano and the one and only Stevie Wonder singing on the song. Busta come with flawless lyrics and delivery again. I can't say enough good things about this joint. IN THE GHETTO - While DJ Green Lantern didn't bring a track as good as the previous 2, it's much better than the 1st 3 trax. The beat has this empty kinda vibe and a different sound. Hard 2 explain...but good none the less. The Rick James sample is alright. COCAINA - Finally, Dr. Dre gives us a good beat. The track has this urban thump 2 it, with a high pitch piano sample. Busta shines vocally again. Marsha from Floetry adds a bit of flava 2 this one. This is another good one. Busta can breathe life in2 a track with ease. Can't Dre realize that all this G-Unit fools don't do anything with the beats they are given. YOU CAN'T HOLD THE TORCH - Ooooohhhh!! This is the joint! Busta and Q-Tip spitting back and forth like the good old dayz. What's even better is the beat Jay Dee created for this one. God rest the soul of a man who can put a beat like this 2gether. It reminds me of something u'd hear on A Touch of Jazz. On top of that, Chauncy Black (of BLACKstreet) pops up on the hook. This song is amazing. GOLDMINE - Another dope Hip-Hop beat...produced by no one other than the green eyed bandit...ERICK SERMON. I'm not much of a Wu-Tang fan, but Raekwon comes correct on this one. This steady beat with the pianos and the soul clap gives Busta the perfect platform he needs 2 flow over. Another flawless one here. I LOVE MY CHICK/B!+CH - This track takes it back 2 the radio friendly stuff (hence the fact that it's the 2nd single off the album). This uptempo one waz put 2gether by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and has Kelis on a forgettable hook. Fun song...but meerly a bridge 2 the high quality Hip-Hop on the rest of the album. DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY - This beat is 2 typical 2 me. It's uptempo with some darkness 2 the sound...but Dre disappoints me yet again. Nas shows up on this one, but doesn't do anything 2 impressive one it. This one get a C+. THEY'RE OUT TO GET ME - This bassline of this one is sick...but the rest of it's just above average. The track is kinda moody. GET DOWN - This is a fun one produced by Timbaland. While i favor those Jay Dee and DJ Scratch beats more, this track provides a different, upbeat kinda vibe u can't get anywhere else. It's procussion heavy and had chants on the hook. Good stuff. I'LL DO IT ALL - This track is different...slows it down...and smooths it out. It's one of those steady bumping, R-N-B touched love songs. LaToya Williams shines on the hook. I like this one alot. Hip-Hop sugared up just a bit. LEGEND OF THE FALL OFFS - This track opens up with the sound of a grave being dug...setting u up for this dark, moody track. The subject matter is stong, dealing with celebs who have faded over the years. The female vocals on the hook are a real nice touch. All in all, this album is dope!! In my opinion, it's the best Hip-Hop album released so far this year and definitly the one of the best in a LOOOOONG time. If u are A Busta Rhymes/Leaders of The New School fan, check this album. If u just love Hip-Hop...check this album. If u listen 2 crap like Ja-Rule, Nelly, G-Unit, Lil' Jon, Terror Squad, and so on....check this album and introduce yourself 2 real Hip-Hop. RATING 2006 - 9.5 OF ALL TIME 8.5
  10. BUSTA RHYMES - New York $#!+ The Big Bang (2006)
  11. I still don't see how people can blame B2R's success on Tra-Knox. Outside of FP's fanbase, nobody knew about them or cared about them. The promotion of that album is what killed it commerically. And as a fan, the only think that makes it come across as a lackluster album is the production....not Tra-Knox. I waz looking forward 2 their album. Cuz they were gonna come with a nice R-N-B sound...nothing like the hodge podge sound of B2R. Anyone who saw them live knows they were the real thing.
  12. They actually made a video 4 this?!? I'll have 2 try 2 check this out on my friend's computer.
  13. FP's movies were his solo ambition...A Touch of Jazz waz Jazzy's. If they were gonna make it a JJ+FP thing, they would have. There waz never any dissing or anybody being left behind. If there waz, Jazzy wouldn't have done The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and he would have never went 2 some of FP's movie premiers with him.
  14. The only real version of "Party Starter" is the original (album version). The Radio Edit is a weaker version of it. And the official remixes (Freshman and Co-P Remixes) are watered down remixes that commerical rap fans are more likely 2 favor 2. A handful of the unauthorized remixes are pretty good...but still not party starting material.
  15. Keep in mind Kid N' Play's "Face The Nation" paralleled with JJ+FP's "Homebase." The albums aren't similar or anything. But if u are one of the people who love "Code Red," u need 2 check the House Party 3 soundtrack. There are 6 trax that very much the Code Red of Kid N' Play....and the trax are pretty much just as dope as the stuff on Code Red.
  16. I'm not saying it's a bad album...and wouldn't want him 2 do the same thing again...i waz just hopin' 4 a lil' more. Some of the trax really stand out. My main problem is that Cube doesn't come off as 2 hungry on the trax. And again, the production is pretty average. Some songs are on a higher point...and some are on a lower one. I haven't listened 2 it in a few days, i'll have 2 pop it back in. The cover is dope tho.'
  17. I got it last week and i give it a 6 or a 7 on a scale from 1-10. Ice Cube's comes on off very much like it used 2. But i miss the heavy political stuff. It just seems like Ice Cube was a little 2 comfortable with what he waz spitting this time around...which is dangerous when u don't release albums as much as u used 2. And the production is definitly average. I do like the album, but it doesn't meet the expectations that i hold for an artist of his caliber.
  18. RIHANNA - Unfaithful Girl Like Me (2006) I'm lovin' the video. Slower songs don't usually get video play like this one is getting.
  19. Ha ha...i'm always adding 2 that list. It's good 2 see some of those forgotten artists are getting discovered by someone all over again.
  20. Or u can own it on 1 of the 2 JJ+FP homevideos...Summertime (And Other Hits) (1991) and Greatest Hits (1998).
  21. This album isn't really that rare. Thumbs down on putting the whole thing up there. But i think pretty much anyone who loves JJ+FP will love Kid N' Play. "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody" waz a hit...i remember "Slippn'" waz also released as a single.
  22. MARTHA REEVES + THE VANDELLAS - (Love Is Like A) Heat Wave The Millennium Collection (1960's/1999)
  23. Man, i could go on 4ever with this topic 4ever. I just LOVE music. So here is just a few random artists that come 2 mind at the moment. MICHAEL JACKSON - Off The Wall and Thriller. I just grew up on this stuff b4 i really knew what music really waz. Bad waz probably the 1st cassette i ever owned. Dangerous came out just as i waz getting in middle school..and that album just went on for like 2 years. HIStory and Invincible also set the mood 4 each of their eras. BOYZ II MEN - Coolyhighharmony waz amazing. That entire album takes me back 2 place i love....back when i waz 11 and 12. II dropped when i 1st started high school. Every single one of their albums have served as a soundtrack 2 my life at the time they came out. JJ+FP - need i say more. TLC - i put those girls right along JJ+FP. I just love their lyrics, their style, and their sound. I started following them b4 they blew up, and i'm still following them even after the circumstances that have kept them from doing what they love on the same level.
  24. I made a post about that a few years ago. Every album remastered, with b-sides, remixes, and instsrumentals, along with expanded CD inserts loaded with pictures and liner notes. Then back it with a DVD loaded with videos, behind the scenes stuff, interviews (old and new) and maybe live performances. We can always dream, can't we?
  25. NICK LACHEY - What's Left of Me What's Left of Me (2006)
