  1. This is Dave Chapelle's project. Artists didn't ask 2 be a part of it...he went after them 2 put this thing 2gether. This whole post is silly. FP is STILL making music and doing movies. He's been doing it for years and he's still going strong. He's a household name all over the world, he has countless awards and nominations, and his TV show that ended almost exactly 10 years ago is still in heavy sindication. How can he be doing anything wrong. Who cares what young kids think who don't know much about him. Hip-Hop heads know his name and give him crazy respect. And he has a loyal fanbase that stretches all color lines and ages...this message board is the perfect example. Nuff said.
  2. LISA STANSFIELD - Never Gonna Fall (self-titled) (1997)
  3. I just gotta say i waz more than pleased with this EP. I've been a fan of BEP since 1998. They are just a totally creative and positive group that have never tryed 2 be something they aren't. While i waz taken back for a minute when they dropped Elephunk, i still love them 2 death. Well, for those of u who don't like the way they altered their style back in 2003...this EP takes it a few steps closer 2 their original style. This album is dope...hands down. Check this... LIKE THAT - This is on their album Monkey Business. It's just a crazy upbeat joint with a dash of jazz. Not 2 mention all the talent that joins BEP on this one...Q-Tip, Talib Kwelie, John Legend, and Cee-Lo. Unfortunatly the video 4 this one didn't blow up like their others. U can check the video on my myspace profile (i've started adding the crew from this board back on as my friends again). BA BUMP (ERICK SERMON REMIX) - Erick Sermon does what he dose the best on the boards...he brings the funk. This remix takes the BEP's back 2 where they came from. They just ride this beat 2 death...Erick Sermon shows up on the track as well, tho' he doesn't really drop a rhyme. I dare u not 2 nod your head 2 this. MY STYLE (DJ PREMIER REMIX) - I'm surprised DJ Premier desided 2 remix this joint out of all the trax they did 4 the current album. Premo takes this track back down 2 earth with a retro kinda feel and the synths. I waz surprised that it didn't sound like your typical Premo stuff tho.' BEP again feel right at home on this joint. THEY DON'T WANT MUSIC (PETE ROCK REMIX) - I definitly like this one better than the album version. While the sound doesn't exactly have Pete Rock written all over it, Pete takes this song 2 the next level. I fills the sound out and makes it thicker. Just dope. FEEL IT (JAZZY JEFF SOULFUL REMIX) - Man, i loved this joint already. It waz definitly in my top 4 trax off Monkey Business...and it's dope that Jeff re-did this one. He starts it off with an old school feel, then smooths it out a bit. It's not R-N-Bish at all...straight Hip-Hop. He scratches on the trax and plays with the vocals a lil' bit. I can't say enough good things about this one. This makes me wonder if A Touch of Jazz really exists as a production company anymore since it's credited as "Remixed by Jeff Towns for J Town Music." "George Glass" mixed it...ha ha. And DJ Jazzy Jeff scratches on it (how many names does Jeff have?!?). Another thing, i know Jeff relocated 2 Delaware, but it says it waz recorded at "Jeff's Joint." Dose ATOJ exist AT ALL?? AUDIO DELITE - This track shows up on Monkey Business also. I like it, but it's not a stand out fav in my opinion. It fits in with the rest of the trax on this album tho.' DISCO CLUB (LARGE PRO PEAS REMIX) - This song has alot more energy with this remix. I don't think it's as good as the rest...but a good remix none the less. I'm not sure it waz the best song 2 remix in the 1st place. All in all, if u like BEP or creative, positive Hip-Hop...check the album. At $6.99, u can't go wrong. BEP are one of Hip-Hop stand-out acts...and with DJ Jazzy Jeff, Pete Rock, Erick Sermon, and Large Professor on the boards, how can u pass it up. This album shines right now and would do the same in the 90's since it avoids all the current trends.
  4. BLACK EYED PEAS + DJ JAZZY JEFF - Feel It (Jazzy Jeff Soulful Remix) Renegotiations: The Remixes (2006)
  5. That's kinda weird. I think it's cool that MJ is relaxing and regrouping...and i like that he has his ear 2 other music. But G-Unit is the worst thing he could do. We'll see. I wouldn't use much respect for MJ...he's just doing his thing and making moves very carefully.
  6. Ahhh!! Thanx 4 this. I've been kinda following the new book, but i didn't know it waz out. Run is all over the place. It's good seeing a pioneer out there still doing this thing and helping balance out the crap people associate with the word "Rap" and "Hip-Hop." I can't wait 2 hear this remix...i'm totally hyped. I like Run's album, but i really want some more contemporary stuff. JD's work with Run-DMC waz always good....so i'll be checkin' 4 this remix. It's time 2 push the album further.
  7. This remix is dope....i'm gonna post a review on the off topic board.
  8. SNOW - Informer '99 Cooler Conditions (1999)
  9. Ahhh...my freakin' super slow computer isn't downloading it properly. I keep trying but it keeps cutting off on the audio around 15 minutes in2 it. I might bug one of u for CD copy and cut some kinda deal.
  10. If u like this version...get the Bulworth soundtrack...cuz it's better than this watered down remix.
  11. I actually got this CD single!! It waz only released overseas tho.'
  12. DMC - Only God Knows Checks, Thugs, And Rock-N-Roll (2006)
  13. The album drops at Best Buy 2morrow!! Make sure 2 go out there and support real Hip-Hop. It's on sale for only $6.99!!
  14. "Maybe" is probably the weakest track on Born To Reign. And musically, it's the most boring song he's ever done. By no means does this this track support the idea that FP is Born To Reign. However, when it comes 2 lyrics and getting the subject matter across, it's good. I've always appriciated the poetic aspect of the track. I don't think u think "Maybe" is one of the best trax...i just think that u thought it waz so bad b4, that when u gave it another listen, u realized it wazn't so bad...making it seem better than it is...ha ha.
  15. RICO LOVE + USHER - Sweat In The Mix Soundtrack (2005) Next up... LIBERTY X + REV RUN - Song 4 Lovers (Red Rhythm Urban Mix) Import CD Single (2005)
  16. NICOLE C. MULLEN - Come Unto Me Talk About It (2001)
  17. There are a few remixes of "Scream." I don't have them, but i've heard of them. I'm pretty sure that the version they played on The Grind waz the remix featuring Naughty By Nature...which is dope!!
  18. JJ+FP as a group or individuals were originally in the works for De La Soul's AOI: Vol. 3 album. I'm not sure if that waz just a rumor, i think Tim heard about it 1st and then told me. When they left Tommy Boy, that album got scratched and they said they weren't gonna drop it. However, around the time The Grind Date came out, they said they were gonna try 2 put it out cuz they felt they were short changing the fans. They should have dropped the whole 3 disc album at one time like they originally planned. U gotta remember that Jazzy Jeff did DJ on the King Britt track featuring Pos and Dave from De La.
  19. When u think about Method Man and Redman...the chemistry just makes sense. A full album with the 2 of them falls right in2 place. Other than that...collabo albums just don't make sense. The perfect example would be R. Kelly's and Jay-Z's "Best of Both Worlds" albums. Sure, they are defintly people who love both of them as artists. But theirs also alot of people who only like one of them...and like me, felt pressured 2 get it cuz they liked one artist...and didn't like the other. And over all, the albums were just alright. When i think about FP making a full album with any other emcees, LL Cool J is the only one who really makes sense 2 me. I could only really see him doing a song or 2 with someone like Rakim or Chuck D or Heavy D. But FP and LL just fit. They careers are very similar, along with their style, sound, backgrounds, etc. And their differences would make the chemistry work. Overall, since they are really good friends, that's what would make it dope. It wouldn't be one of those things just 2 gain hype and fame. They are 2 friends who have a passion 4 something they both started over 20 years ago.
  20. U never know. The entertainment business is so stupid. When they did Bill + Ted the live action TV show, they didn't ask Alex Winter or Keanu Reeves 2 do it...they just got those 2 no names 2 take park in the crappy show...it gone by like 8 episodes later. I'm thinkin' they might not have asked him since Lois + Clark had alot of love triangle stuff in it, and they didn't wanna have that take on it. But i thought the actors and the look of that show were great. I own the 1st 2 seasons on DVD. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3rd season comes out around the time the movie drops.
  21. Yes it exists. If u look on my old profile, u'll see the "La Fiesta" promo right next 2 all of those "Freakin' It" singles. It'll definitly be harder 2 find these days. The promo single only has the album version on it...so u aren't missing anything new by not getting it. My best advice would be 2 watch ebay. Since it waz only released in Spain and wasn't a real single or video, i don't think they printed up 2 many of them.
  22. Everyone ripped me when i made that suggestion. I loved Dean Cain. He had the hero thing going on, but he also had a strong down 2 earth quality that i identifyied with. His body waz already superhero-ready and the ladies love him. I think he is not only the person who deserved the role, but also the person who waz perfect 4 it. Alot of the TV show's cast would have probably wanted 2 do the movie.
  23. RICKY BELL - Can't Stay Away (self-titled) (2000)
