  1. Insane....i need 2 learn how 2 do that. Imagin how much fun u could have by dawing stuff on the highway!!
  2. The extended version of "Pump Me Up" is on the US "Freakin' It" CD single.
  3. RALPH TRESVANT - Never Noticed RizzWaFaire (2006) This just came out!! I had no idea it even WAZ coming out. Any Ralph Tresvant and New Edition fans need 2 check this album. It's one of those classic underdog vet albums that will probably pass as an unknown classic. The album is dope. It's the same RT with the silky smooth style but for the 2-0-0-6.
  4. Yeah, the album dropped Tuesday. I couldn't find it at 1st. It's definitly out there...some places may not have it. All the record stores i have visited have a few copies. Circuit City, FYE, and Borders all have it. I was talking 2 people in 1 of the record stores about it. Those who have heard it like it and the other are interested and asking about it. Now that i look back on it, i should have mentioned FP's album in hopes they'd check that out 2.
  5. Well, i waz single digging 2day and stopped in2 the over priced FYE. However, FYE has been trying 2 get rid of their CD singles for awhile and keep marking them down. In there, they had the "Will 2K" UK Import CD single. I never picked up up since i already had the version of "Will 2K" with out the "party like it's 19..." edit, the version of "So Fresh" that didn't cut off like it dose on Willennium, and the Rodney Jerkins Remix of "Just The Two of Us." Well, since they had it marked down to $1.99, i figured i'd get it just 2 get it....and cuz it has a poster in it. I popped the CD in my car stereo cuz i waz in the mood for "So Fresh" and got a mini surprise. Unlike the version on the 12" and on the Columbia/Sony compilation Sizzling...this single has a version that is 20 seconds longer in which haz Biz Markie beatboxing along with the beat and Jazzy Jeff's scratches. During the slow fade u hear them say "Will is... Jazzy Jeff is...Biz Mark is... Slick Rick is..." with the "so fresh" scratches. Now i know what version of this i'll be putting on all my mixtapes. I just wanted 2 share cuz i hyped. :wiggle:
  6. For something 2 be controversial, it has 2 reach the masses...your rap didn't. And it had 2 state your view so that people could agree with it or disagree with it. Yours didn't give that opition. And expressing yourself? Please...u were doing nothing of the kind. To keep things short and simple...your rhyme waz waz plain stupid and u made yourself look like an idiot. Don't flatter yourself saying it waz "controversial" and that you were "expressing yourself." It seems like a lack of respect, common sense and any intellegence at all for that matter is what gave birth 2 a bag of trash like that. And that's what's wrong with the commercial artists of 2day.
  7. Yeah, there's a lyric in the Run-DMC song "Come 2gether" where DMC says "Come together like Will Smith + Jada."
  8. Yeah, this stuff is over a year old...but dope none the less. I'm hoping they'll show more of the specials that have FP in em.' VH-1 puts 2gether better Hip-Hop specials and documentaries than BET and MTV put 2gether.
  9. DMC + RUN - Come 2gether Checks, Thugs, + Rock-N-Roll (2006)
  10. I got the album. And i must say i'm impressed. I know alot of people are not checking 4 this album from the track or 2 that they've heard, but i still urge people 2 check it out who are feeling this review. I must admit, i waz gonna pick it up no matter what. I love Hip-Hop, i love Run-DMC, and i love music that matters. 2 my surprise, DMC erased all doubts that lingured in my head about his solo project. And while his voice isn't the same...HE HAS NOT LOST HIS VOICE!! Here we go... WATCHTOWER - This rock infested track waz the 1st song i heard off the album awhile ago. It's got a steady thump backed up by live drums and guitars that shine on the hook. It's an inspirational song. I won't get in2 the lyrics 2 heavily. FREAKY CHICK - This has a funky rockish kinda vibe. It's just about those attractive wild kinda girls who crave attention. He flows on this chunky beat perfectly. JUST LIKE ME - This is the single most of us have heard. DMC's vocal change is very obvious on this one. It sounds like he's trying 2 rock the mic like he used on those Run-DMC trax where he'd be screaming...and vocally it just doesn't seem 2 work. But when u hear the whole album, u just realize that this DMC at his most vunerable. Sarah McLachlan shines on this. I don't listen 2 her music...but i LOVE her on this song. The song deals with adoption and parent/child relationships. Powerful stuff....and the video is amazing. LOVEY DOVEY - THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST HIP-HOP TRAX EVER!! No lie!! It has this summery, soulful Hip-Hop sound. Totally timeless. It features the one and only Doug E. Fresh at his best. It's one of those songs where the fellaz are just showing love 2 ladies. Tons of Hip-Hop references are in the lyrics. Doug E. even does some beatboxing at the end. I can't say enough about this song. Check it or miss out. FIND MY WAY - This is a very moody, edgy kinda song. I love it. The beat has a Hip-Hop foundation with some acoustics tossed on top. It's a very mid-tempo track and DMC rocks the beat in a very steady, controled way and adds more edge 2 it by distorting his voice. It's another inspirational kinda joint. Kid Rock not only produced this song...but he sings on the hook. Over the years, i've totally learned 2 appriciate Kid Rock's bad boy genre-jumping style. But even if u don't like him, u'll probably love the way he sprinkles the hook of this song. THIS ONE IS DOPE. MACHINE GUN - This song deals with the whole Iraq situation. It's a heavily rock influenced track. It has the vocal echo that were so popular in the Run-DMC stuff. The subject matter is good...but i can see myself skipping over this track kinda often. COLD - Back 2 straight Hip-Hop. This is a moderatly slow Hip-Hop joint with sped up soul samples on the hook. It features Ms. Jade. I haven't checked the lyrics on this one really...but the song is great. WHAT'S WRONG - Straight Hip-Hop with fly R-N-B vocals on it. The song deals with the the bad choices of todays youth...smoking weed, drugs, sex, etc. Very deep song. Another one people need 2 hear. CADILLAC CARS - I'm not feeling this one so much. DMC pimps out his vocals over this chunky funky Hip-Hop joint with country vibe and twangy harmonica. ONLY GOD KNOWS - He makes up 4 the last one with this one. This is a more agressive Hip-Hop track. It's one of those songs about life. I'm not gonna spell it out 4 ya...but the lyrics are dope. COME 2GETHER - This is the joint. THIS IS RUN + DMC BACK 2GETHER!! They didn't lie when they said they would be 2gether forever. This beat is amazing. It's got this heavy urban thump that kinda reminds me of really good mid-90's Hip-Hop. It's just a breath of fresh air. Run kicks a dope verse...better than any of the verse on this purposly heavily retro album. SUCKA SUCKA - Here's a mid-tempo, dark kinda song from DMC. This is what happens when a true Hip-Hop head gets fed up with the industry, fake commerical rappers, and fake people in general. He's calling out all the phoney's on this one. He reminds us all he's still a king on this one. GOODBYE - This a slow tempo, retro-feeling Hip-Hop joint. He's letting his home know his still down and not going anywhere on this track. I haven't watched the bonus DVD yet, but this is what's on it... 1. Just Like Me 2. The Story of Just Like Me 3. Interviews with Producers + Director 4. Machine Gun 5. The Story of Machine Gun 6. Q -N-A with DMC All and all, i love this album. I think it's dope. His is grown Hip-Hop for the true heads. DMC's lyrics are current with an occiasional dip in 2 some old school stylings (who would have it any other way?) Over half of the album has great beats and DMC hasn't lost his voice at all. I urge everyone 2 give the album a listen. At least these tracks... Lovey Dovey, Find My Way, Cold, What's Wrong, Only God Knows, Come 2gether, Sucka Sucka, Goodbye. Even tho' DMC only cusses on 2 of the trax (i think), there is an edited version. And the album is only $9.99 thru' Saturday if u go 2 Circuit City. As a sales person if it's not on the shelf. My location only got a few copies and wasn't supposed 2 put them out (but they did anyway). If u want the DVD, i'd get the album soon...cuz it's probably a limited edition type of deal.
  11. Yeah, Will.I.Am is amazing. He's on the current Pussycat Dolls single...he did that one latin artists entire album (which i plan on picking up at some point). He's just flowing with talent and creativity. I have his 2003 solo album and it's amazing. While BEP started dipping in2 other sounds and styles, he dropped that solo album with the likes of Q-Tip, KRS-One, and MC Lyte.
  12. One thing that makes me mad, is that they released a single like "My Humps" which is a silly song...and it on the top of the charts. Right after it, they released "Like That" featuring Q-Tip, Talib Kwelie, John Legend, and Cee-Lo. It's one of the best Hip-Hop songs released done in recent years and it didn't get the same success at all. They quickly followed it up with "Pump It" and that single is getting radio play and getting off the ground pretty easy. The pop fans are speaking when it comes 2 what BEP does commercially.
  13. I wouldn't mind if FP and Nas do a song 2gether. But not a whole album. That just wouldn't make sense. They come from 2 different places, 2 different eras, 2 different styles, and 2 different kinds of music. It would be a strange, forced project. And Kanye West...he annoys me 2 no end. I don't understand why he's so obnoxious. Most of his beats are pretty good. I'd like 2 hear FP flowin' over a track Kanye did...but not with Kanye on the mic. I can see FP inviting other people on his albums/projects...but i often find it hear 2 see him on other people's album or workin with hardly anyone 4 a full album.
  14. If u give up now...u'll find out if it's your thing. When i got away from writing and started doing alot of acting...it held me over, but i regularly wanna get back in 2 it. I'll write something once in awhile. Me and my cousin have talked about recording some of the silly stuff we wrote years ago...along with creating some new stuff.
  15. I know why people say BEP's style has changed...but it's really not THAT different. I've made mixtapes with stuff from all their albums and while their style broadened, it's not 2 much of a stretch. They've always been different and mixed different music genres and used samples from time 2 time. And Fergie kinda takes the place, the girl who did all the R-N-B vocals on most of their past work. They just made her an official member and put her out there. And she's been doing her thing commerically much longer than BEP has been. Their new style may not be 4 everyone...but i'm lovin' it. I'll take Beyond The Front any day over the newer stuff, but 2 call them irrelevant is just wrong. They are the hardest working act in Hip-Hop and it's paying off. No gimmicks, just pure creativity and fun. And unlike other people on the charts, THEY LOVE HIP-HOP. Watch them at award shows when other people perform. When MC Hammer did that suprise performance at the MTV Music Awards, they were loosing their mind more than i waz.
  16. KELIS - Milkshake (Majestic 12 Inch Remix) Fired Up! 3 (2003/2006)
  17. Yeah, Javier's album is brilliant. It's a solid mix of soul and R-N-B with dash of Hip-Hop here and there. Ivan and Carvin formally from A Touch of Jazz produced 3 or 4 songs 4 the album. R-N-B fans should check this album out...but Chief shouldn't.
  18. FRESH PRINCE + ELEPHANT MAN - Switch (Reggae Remix) Lost + Found (2005)
  19. TLC - Dirty Dirty 3D (2002) This song still brings the fire.
  20. That sucks!! I haven't watched the show regularly in a few years...but i still love it. Over the years, the stories have gotten less funny and strayed from their original style. I remember watching the 1st episode and falling in love with it (a month or 2 b4 it got huge). Over the years tho'...the seemed 2 want 2 offend people more than they wanted 2 make u laugh or put out a message.
  21. Of coure i want another JJ+FP album and more music from then all 2gether. Even tho' the album didn't do much past the 1st single, it's still a dope album. There are days when i'll listen 2 it from start 2 finish all day long. The album is dope and still hits me with the same fire it did the day it released. I look at things this way. He did the promoting, he put out 2 videos and he did some concerts. Once it waz clear that "Party Starter" wasn't getting support, there were 2 things he could have done. Make a rebound attempt with another single/video (whatever happened 2 the "Switch (Reggae Remix)" video?) But he went witht the other option...abandon the sinking success of the album and make big movies with another movie...which will lead 2 more success and exposure. FP will always be an emcee 1st. It's just in his nature. And he's got that compilation in the works. It may not be the way most of us want it...but let's be happy 4 what we do have an what is on the way.
  22. Ha ha!!! U da man!! Thanx!! Leave 2 Brakes 2 save modern R-N-B from untalented and unworthy rappers...ha ha!!
  23. BEYONCE - Check On It DC #1's (2005) Man, they need a radio edit WITHOUT the RAP!!
