  1. The explict lyrics sticker can take an album far. It's quite depressing. Ever since the early/mid 90's...those stickers have dominated Hip-Hop and Rap album covers. Some people had messages and skills...and lots didn't. It's progressed to 2day...where if u your album goes platnium, there is a 99% chance there is an explict sticker on it. Young kids think "it's cool." Ignorant teens think it means that the music is "real" and "raw." And record labels enforce them 2 push the bar. All these newers guys are little puppets who don't write anything worth listening 2 over cookie cutter beats and make sure they lace every bar with cuss words. I personally hate cussing. Years ago i desided i waz gonna clean my mouth up and hearing it in music started 2 annoy me 2. I'll gladly support people like The Roots, Common Sense, and Talib Kweli even tho' they have explict lyric stickers on their album. Their albums are filled with stories, messages...and most importantly...SKILLZ. With them, they aren't out 2 spread poison and just cuss. That's what idiots like G-Unit do.
  2. Good...solid news in a popular magazine...it's about tyme!! I can't wait 2 hear her new stuff. Kiss The Sky is one of my favorite albums. I know she's grown alot since...i'm hoping it's even better than her 1st.
  3. If u are talking strictly modern music...Fresh Prince, LL Cool J, Speech, Public Enemy, 4th Avenue Jones', Nick Cannon, Fugees, Black Eyed Peas, and Common Sense.
  4. Prince, do u listen 2 ANY Hip-Hop? THE TONY RICH PROJECT - Traveling Alone (Trip Hop Mix) Promo - Ressurected (2003)
  5. This is so embarassing....i'm gonna be a metal head now. Oh wait, this isn't a part of Hip-Hop history...we are talking trashy rap at the moment. I really wish i could see people's reaction during their performance. The probably had 2 use pre-recorded applause for the performance. Three 6 Mafia is trash at it's worst.
  6. Definition...r u serious?? Whitney has one of the strongest and prettiest voices of all time...hands down. She hasn't weakened at all. Check that Thunderpuss Club Remix of "It's Not Right, But It's Okay"...i don't know anyone who can handle a song like that. Janet makes good music and has a cute lil' voice...but by no means does she have a strong voice. Putting her beside someone like Mariah Carey is a dangerous idea. It'll come off like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera when they opened for Madonna on the MTV Music Awards. Britney did her but lil' part, then Christina came out and her voice just blew Briney away.
  7. P!NK - Stupid Girls (her forthcoming album) (2006)
  8. I'd love if FP collaborated with Dallas Austin again on the Jellybeans soundtrack. Jazzy scratching...and T-Boz on the hook.
  9. My prayers and support go out 2 ya!! One of my best friends lost his mother in the beginning of winter. It was a really rough time...but like all hardtimes, they will pass.
  10. It's a lazy cold winter Sunday...and i'm off work. Keepin' it acoustically mellow with some JOHN MAYER.
  11. It's a dope song...but compared 2 Dre's better work, i waz kinda dissapointed when i 1st heard it. Just cuz i wanted a laid back west coast kinda feel. But this moderate energy joint is still great. I love how LL kinda sings his 1st verse. They actually did a video 4 this song, but it didn't get 2 much play.
  12. MC HAMMER - Soldiers Story Too Legit To Quit (1991)
  13. I love how the article says that the album is coming out April 2006 and that a single is coming out this summer?!? Anyways, i love Janet's stuff, Jermaine's stuff, and Jimmy Jam + Terry Lewis' stuff...so i'm expecting a solid album with lots of flava. I didn't think her last one was bad...but i do get tired of the oversexyed songs.
  14. Very cool. The newest movie sounds interesting. Good 2 hear something original is on the way. And that Jellybeans project has been in the works for OVER 10 YEARS. I knew it waz finally coming 2gether, but with FP getting involved. It'll get get some extra credibility behinde it. As a huge TLC fan, the Jelly beans project just got even sweeter.
  15. Ha ha...this isn't new. This is the track "Zoom" that they did for the Bulworth soundtrack back in 1998 (that's why he's droppin' a few cuss words). The beat is remixed tho.' Sorry i had 2 bust your bubble....but at least it's a cool remix. I don't know if i'd say it's better than the original...but it's cool. I'm pretty sure some unknown person remixed this. It dosen't sound like any of Dre's stuff...and why would he remix a song that he did 8 years ago?
  16. Thanx!! In about an hour...my computer will be downloading it...ha ha.
  17. THE TONY RICH PROJECT - Travelin' Alone (Tony Rich Jazz Remix) Promo - Resurrected (2003)
  18. The Funky Headhunter waz a Hip-Hop/Funk/Pop attempt that had a different image. But if u heard the album and the lyrics, he didn't really change his style. In an interview at the time, he said "It would have been corny for me to come out in those baggy pants, big glasses, and lines shaved in my head." For a short time, Hammer signed to Deathrow under the agreement he would stay true 2 himself. He participated in a free show for single mom's that Suge used 2 always hose (alongside 2Pac...who MC Hammer recorded 2 trax with that have yet 2 be released). MC Hammer is more about the music than the business...but Suge is even worse about the business...which is why he left. He redeemed himself with his next album V: Inside Out...one of my top favorite Hip-Hop albums of all time. For the sake of others, i wish they'd get past the mega success he had in the early 90's and the darker Funky Headhunter era and give his stuff a chance. He's got something that needs 2 be heard. Which u can't say about 2 many other artists.
  19. :nolachen: That's all....just :nolachen: U wanna hear a party Hip-Hop record...check music from JJ+FP, LL, S-N-P, Kid N' Play, Heavy D. These new guys try 2 be 2 hard 2 really throw a party. U hear about FP rockin' parties back in the day...u hear about Kid-N-Play rocking parties. U don't hear about Nelly, Ludacris, or Lil' Jon rockin' parties....they don't rock parties...they are in this for the fame.
  20. 4TH AVENUE JONES' - It's Over Now Stereo: The Evolution of Hiprocksoul (2005)
  21. I never thought Who's Line Is It Anway? waz that funny. I love Wild N' Out tho'. I think it would be silly 2 have them go up against each other. A certain audience is gonna respond 2 their respective type of lifestyle and taste. Wild N' Out speaks my language and even dose some of the same stuff i've done with my friends.
  22. Some people have called me out for being a huge supporter of MC Hammer. And i could care less about what they have 2 say. I know that i waz a huge Hip-Hop fan b4 some of these fools were born. MC Hammer came up from the gutter, with tons of energy, style, dance moves, and a positive attitude. He's one of coolest, nicest, and wisest guys in Hip-Hop...and in general. I'll always support whatever he does. What's he waz bloggin' up there is real talk. U just don't get that from the artists on the charts. And i love that joint "Full Blast." I got the promo single for that nearly 2 years ago. The b-side "Sunshine" waz pretty good...and the single/video "Hard Times" waz amazing.
  23. KEL SPENCER - Problem Child (2006) Hey MaxFly...did u pick up her album when it 1st dropped? I just found out the other day that they recalled all her originally pressed albums cuz there's software on her CD that opens your computer 2 viruses....so don't put it in your computer!!
  24. Yeah, that song is really good. He also just leaked the song "Oh Yeah" and "Problem Child." If they aren't on Myspace...they probably will be soon.
