THE COLLEGE BOYZ - Victim of The Ghetto Radio Fusion Radio (1992) Anyone who loves early 90's Hip-Hop has 2 listen 2 this song. It's been one of my favs since it came out.
-
I haven't peeped any trax off the album. I'm just being patient at the moment. I think Freeway sucks...so i waz crushed 2 see LL did something with him. Julz Santana is okay when it comes 2 commerical rap...but he dosen't deserve 2 be working with the G.O.A.T. I'm actually hyped 2 hear the song with Jennifer Lopez even tho' i've heard all kinds of different opinions about it. It's way 2 early 2 judge the album. LL always bring quality. Even if this waz his weakest album, he'd still be light years ahead of anyone on the charts right now.

Is a soundtrack a good Idea
JumpinJack AJ replied to soul_survivor's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I don't know...certain movie soundtrax deserve a song from FP...others don't. Hitch would have been a dope soundtrack 2 put a love song or "If U Can't Dance (Slide)" on. That Bad Boys 2 soundtrack SUCKED...so it's actually a good thing Puffy didn't put any of FP's trax on it. I don't think he should do anymore songs like Men In Black, Wild Wild West, or Black Suits Comin' just becuz the idea is played out. Maybe for the right kind of movie, but i think he should stay away from that idea. The Sharktale soundtrack waz kinda cool since he waz featured on it as a guest artist. -
WIll has so many hookups! but why...
JumpinJack AJ replied to dkny2kx's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
"A new generation of rap fans" don't mean anything. Why try 2 impress a bunch of young kids who have awful taste in music? FP isn't making music 4 that kinda person. He's not gonna go out of his way 2 get fans. Real recognize real...and real music fans will find his music. I don't like the idea of 2 many collaborations his albums. He isn't like Nelly or 50 Cent where u they lack so much talent they desperatly go 2 others since they can't hold their own. So many collaborations are done just for sales...which is stupid. If u get 2 creative people who wanna come 2gether and make good music, that's cool...but not for sales. Tell Me Why, The Rain, So Fresh, Boy You Knock Me Out, Uuhhh are all dope trax where he worked with other people. They came 2gether 2 create something dope...and that's what they did. But when u look at a song like "Da Butta"...u gotta wonder why he worked with Lil' Kim who can't write, can't rap, and has a nasty public image. -
JJ+FP EXTENDED FAMILY NEWS
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I've said it 100 times and i'll say it again. Tra-Knox is the truth! I saw them perform Jodeci's "Luv U 4 Life" acappella LIVE and it waz amazing. Born To Reign is not a proper example of their style or vocal talents. People need 2 get off the idea that they aren't all that just becuz they contributed heavily 2 FP's weakest album. Educate yourself b4 making negative statements. I wish they album would have come out...after all, FP dropped a verse on one of the songs. -
JJ+FP EXTENDED FAMILY NEWS
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I don't know know why Tra-Knox gave up. I guess they disbanded. They at least seperated from FP and Overbrook. And that compilation album is in the early stages, they may not have even started recording 4 it. -
This stuff isn't rumors or gossip. This is news from legit sources... *FP is putting 2gether a Hip-Hop/R-N-B/Reggae compilation album that Kel Spencer is involved in *Kel Spencer is talking with major lables like Jive, Warner, Sony, and Atlantic and things are looking good *DJ Jazzy Jeff is having Kel Spencer on his next album *Tra-Knox is no longer a group *UPN's show Half & Half will have Kel Spencer on it the next season *"Kel Spencer's "The Wilderness" video, which features JJ+FP in it, should air on BET's late nite show "Uncut" starting next week

Wow, I can't totally wrap my brain about that whole situation...or even imagin how many details u left out. When u don't know the whole story, it's hard 2 give advice. But this is probably what i would do. THE HARD WAY: Talk 2 your boss. Ask them if there's any reason they seem to be acting differently towards you. Of one step higher, ask them if "Jenny" has been talking about her. If the answer is yes, then say that u don't even want 2 know what was said, but say that she's been been a backstabber and a liar 2 u and some of your other co-workers. Let your boss know that it's important 2 u that the performance where u work isn't being tainted by a backstabber. THE EASY WAY: The easier way would be 2 just suck it up. U know who is in the right, and that will pay off. Stay strong, control yourself, and don't let the petty stuff get 2 u. U have you eyes set on your goal...so accomplish it, even if u are have 2 dodge the things getting in the way. A few unpaid hours and drama like this is just the kinda crap u might have 2 go thru' 2 get what u really want. What dosen't kill u makes u strong. So keep ya head up, and follow your heart on how 2 handle the situation.

BELL BIV DEVOE - Gangsta CD Single/Greatest Hits (1993) I swear Hootie Mack would have been a bigger hit if they kept this song on the album...considering it waz the 1st single!!
-
I've been listening 2 alot lately...y'all need 2 quit sleeping on this. And Trey, after seeing some of the people u listen 2...u definitly need 2 get this CD and find out what skillz really are.

That "Laffy Taffy" beat sounds like a freakin' Atari 2600 game. All the 20-something heads and older will know what i mean by that. That song is hot trash...no doubt. That Nelly song is garbage thru' and thru'...that Lil' Wayne and Juvenille stuff is an embarassment...and G-Unit represents the end of rap music as we know it. Thank God Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Q-Tip, and Ice Cube got albums on the way.

My dream track would be similar 2 trax that've already done in the past. DJ Jazzy Jeff producing the track with a timeless, straight Hip-Hop sound. Radio friendly enuff 2 get spins but definitly not done 2 get spins (perfect example...Summertime, I'm All That, Potnas). FP on the mic doin' what he dose best. No colaborations on the writing tip...just straight Fresh Prince...intellengence, comedy, and a feel good time.

What rappers is Big Will Cool With?
JumpinJack AJ replied to ardnealy's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
FP has always been a team player. He's cool with everybody from the old school 2 the new school. Commerical rap 2 true Hip-Hop, he cliques with everyone he meets. That's one thing i really admire about him. He dosen't judge or disrespect anyone. However, lets not get this confused with who is truley supports. FP and LL are like brothers...and look at LL's style of music and skillz. U might see FP takin' pix with 50 Cent at award shows and events...but one listen 2 "Lost + Found" and we all know what time it is. -
It's amazing that commerical rap can continue 2 get worse and worse. That "Laffy Taffy" trash has been getting spins since last summer. And that awful Nelly song killz me. At some points, these middle school rap fans are gonna have 2 realize how awful the music they are buying really is.

TLC - Waterfalls CraZySeXyCOol (1994) Ciara is playing on her Top 25 on BET. Let's not foget who broke down alot of barriers for female emcees and R-N-B artists. TLC 4ever!!

I don't mind Kel Spencer writing for or with Puffy. After all, he's a bottomless pit of ill rhymes. And he makes a good living from it...which most likely finances the stuff that turns in his mixtape. But i'd have a problem seeing him as a Bad Boy artist. Bad Boy is a label for artists who don't mind selling their soul and letting Puffy use them as puppets 2 become the next big thing. However, no artist on Bad Boy ever really stayed famous or stayed on the label. Kel Spencer and Bad Boy is like oil and water...they just don't mix. True school Hip-Hop and flashy, watered down commerical rap just dosen't mix.

Will Smith Rapper or Actor?
JumpinJack AJ replied to soul_survivor's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Where's the "Emcee" opition. FP's is far more than just a rapper. He's definitly an emcee at heart 2 me. He's said it over and over thru' out the years that he's always considered himself and artist 1st. I woudn't want him 2 stop acting...but i could care less if he dose it for awhile. The funny thing is, before Lost + Found waz dropped, people's opinions on this topic were really split. It looks like this album has changed alot of people's minds. -

Will Smith compilation cd cover
JumpinJack AJ replied to PeaceAngel's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Nice work. -
I actually didn't keep up with the show. But they chose someone and her stage name is Oso' Krispie. She's a female rapper and her voice is pretty annoying. I'm wondering if one reason they chose her is cuz her voice waz unique. Left Eye's voice waz unique...but this girl's voice is just annoying. Oso' Krispie is definitly one of those commerical 8-bar rappers. They just released the single they recorded with her...it's called "I Bet." The song is good, but dosen't stand up 2 TLC's usual music. I really wish they'd release a radio with without the rap so we could get a straight TLC song. They are apparently re-releasing Now + Forever with this new song on it. Which is good 4 the US since they never released it back in 2003. They just kept the CDs in boxes and then put them all out when the show started airing, without ANY promotion. Just 2 get them out since they were going 2 waste. It actually debuted at like 70-something on the Billboard charts i think. Anyways, they are gonna re-release it...hopefully with a video and promotion...and that Megamix. Hopefully they never work this girl again cuz she really isn't talented. I'm also hoping this will get TLC working as a duo or at least on their solo projects.

AVANT, JERMAINE DUPRI + LIL' WAYNE - You Know What The Director (2006) Man, take Lil' Wayne off the track and this song is flawless.
