  1. Flava Flav has been working on a solo album for nearly a decade. He even released a single a few years back. There were only 2 copies of it and i planned on getting it, but it sold out. I haven't seen it since. I think his solo album will come out if he's serious about it. If PE can get albums out, Flav can...especially with all the exposure he gets from VH-1 with Surreal Life, Strange Love, and his new show.
  2. Thanx 4 posting that. SMC came 2 me cuz he came across my list of JJ+FP non-album music. I asked him 2 post it here b4 i sent burning it from vinyl 2 CD and then putting it on my computer...THEN sending it 2 him. U just saved me alot of time.
  3. TLC - Hey Hey Hey Hey / Hot (Machu's Left Eye Mix) (((unathorized))) (2003)
  4. What i don't understand is how Nelly can shout out FP like that, 50 Cent can shout out Rakim, and so on...but their music is trash. If they admire real emcees, why don't they attempt 2 make music on that level. I'd like 2 read the actual interview if u can point me in the right direction. Thanx 4 posting this.
  5. Code Red may me alot of people's favorite album, but FP called it a weak album. And i think the east coast production/west coast vocal recordings were part of his reasoning. That's the only JJ+FP album that JJ+FP didn't put 2gether themselves. Besides, when u think of Teddy Riley, Pete Rock, and Dallas Austin, they were on the same vibe as JJ+FP. I love the Neptunes and i'd love 2 hear FP work with them...but not on a JJ+FP album. It's no surprise that Willennium is the best WS album, cuz Jazzy and A Touch of Jazz dominated it.
  6. KEL SPENCER - Statin' Facts Who Is Kel Spencer? (2005)
  7. My overall thing is this. After opinions are stated and different emcees and rappers are compared, it comes down 2 one main thing 2 me. Who has heart? When 2Pac, Fresh Prince, LL Cool J, Rakim, Talib Kweli, Kel Spencer and Chuck D write a rhyme, where are they going with it? They are doing it 4 da love of da game. They are expressing ideas and trying 2 make better...or at least make since of life and the world. When they aren't doing that, they are entertaining us, rocking the mic, or making quality music. But where is the heart in alot of commerical rap? 50 Cent isn't trying 2 make anyone think. Kanye West isn't trying 2 take his skillz 2 the next level. Ludacris isn't changing the world. Puffy isn't helping a hopless soul get thru' 1 more day. They don't care about art. They just care about making money and being famous. Without heart...without love, without a desire 2 create something incredible...u don't have Hip-Hop....u have commercial rap. U can like all J-Kwon's and G-Units u like. That's fine with me. Just don't try 2 tell me that Lil Jon is doing the same thing that Common Sense is doing. I'm not stuck in a time warp...i just won't settle 4 less than good music by talented artists. And most of the time, u won't find that on the charts or on the radio.
  8. I wouldn't consider all of these groups old school...but here's a few groups i love... Run-DMC Whodini Kid N' Play Salt-N-Pepa Pete Rock + C.L. Smooth Eric B. + Rakim EPMD UMC's Arrested Development A Tribe Called Quest Leaders of The New School De La Soul Digital Underground 3rd Bass Public Enemy Gang Starr Digable Planets Heavy D + The Boyz Brand Nubian Naughty By Nature
  9. Trey Lorenz has been in the bizness way longer than John Legend. Besides, how can he be a sound-alike of someone who wazn't even established yet?! John Legends 1st be "backstage" break waz the work he did on Lauryn Hill's album. I don't think Robin Thicke sounds 2 much like Justin Timberlake. FP just wanted 2 put him out there since he waz in the process of signing him 2 Overbrook.
  10. I think having current "hot" producers on the album would defeat the purpose of a JJ+FP album. That's what a "Will Smith" album is for. If JJ+FP are gonna do an album, the production should extend 2 much further than DJ Jazzy Jeff + A Touch of Jazz. Only certain people like Pete Rock should be considered 4 getting involved with the album.
  11. PUBLIC ENEMY - New Whirl Oder New Whirl Oder (2006)
  12. Let's not 4get how Bad Boy screwed up New Editions last album. They realized that during the recording of their last album that Bad Boy waz an awful decision. The quality of the music waz the weakest ever for NE. Puffy made it so that in-house Bad Boy producers did most of the music...which is always bad. I think Carl Thomas is their only legit artist on the label.
  13. JJ+FP has a following bigger than us. So dose true school Hip-Hop. There would definitly be enought buzz behind the album without any hype. But as pop culture goes....they don't realize how much they'll want something til it's available. Look at Black Eyed Peas. Their 1st 2 albums were dope and they had a strong Hip-Hop favbase. They mess around an do an album like Elephunk, something totally different from anything every on the pop charts, and they blew up. If u put something different in the face of a mainstream audience, sometimes they eat it up, and i think a new JJ+FP album would do the same thing.
  14. There's nothing worse than being effected by something that's not your fault. Stay strong. U got my support.
  15. TLC feat. O'SO KRISPIE - I Bet (2006) Yo Julie...the single just came out 2day. The female emcee they desided 2 work with from R U The Girl With T-Boz + Chilli isn't really that great...but i know u are like me and will love hearing T-Boz + Chilli again.
  16. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with liking different music....i'm saying there's something wrong when certain members flip out whenever i spit on the face of commerical rap. Lambert-style attacks aimed an one person over and over again just become routine and rediculous.
  17. Frenetic, your former posts totally support that u love commercial rap. Which is fine, but don't tell me that Puffy, Eminem, Kanye West, Ludacris, Lil' Jon, etc are any near on a level of Fresh Prince, LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Talib Kweli, Public Enemy, etc. I would love 2 see my favorite emcees crack the mainstream again. It has nothing 2 do with what's underground, true skool, gangsta, or straight commerical. It's about brains and quality music. However, it's a FACT that nearly all commercial rap is trash...PERIOD. How u gonna tell me that Ludacris's flow is as dope as LL Cool J's? How u gonna tell me that Kanye West's lyrics are anywhere near the level of Chuck D's? Let's really not start this all over again. Look at your past posts, they support nothing but rappers who have cracked the top 10 in the past 5 years.
  18. Craig Mack didn't like the way Bad Boy waz going...so he left them years ago. He waz definitly the best artist Bad Boy every had. Right next 2 Faith. Craig Mack put out his 2nd album without Bad Boy and it's dope. Since then he waz staying very low key. Popping up on a mixtape here and there. Back in 2002/2003, he started working with Bad Boy again and popped up on a remix by one of their crappy commerical rappers. And album waz supposed 2 follow, but nothing has happened since.
  19. KEL SPENCER - I Got K.O.'s Who Is Kel Spencer (2005)
  20. LFO - Me (Boom Shalak) (self-titled Import version) (1999)
  21. It's cool that Kanye dissed G-Unit. But on the real, as a mature Hip-Hop head, i look at all these commerical rappers and it's like watching a race be wiped out by an illness. They all talk loud when none of them are respected on a true school or underground level. They just keep talking trash and beefing. Eventually they'll all kill each other and we can get back 2 real music being played on the radio.
  22. What an idiot. If FP waz a homophobe, he wouldn't have done Six Degrees or dressed up like a girl in WWW. This guy just wants attention.
