  1. I've lied 2 cover 4 somebody...but not for something like shooting a gun...or while in court. Lil' Kim waz just stupid 4 all of this. And i don't see how this gives her much street cred. Here sales have been slumping so this is no guarentee that her career will rejuvinate at all.
  2. NATASHA BEDINGFIELD - These Words I just saw the video on VH-1. I love this!!
  3. Yeah, those people are on my mind this morning.
  4. Even tho' i think her skillz will never improve, hopefully something like this will fix her as a person and make some of her music actually mean something instead of telling the world how big a slut she is.
  5. I think Lil' Kim is wack. She has no voice and now flow. Her lyics are awful. And her music in general isn't any good. However, i guess i feel bad that she got jail time. However, when u do stupid stuff...this kinda stuff is most likely gonna come your way. Here's the article... --- Rapper Lil' Kim Gets a Year for Perjury By TOM HAYS, AP NEW YORK (July 6) - Grammy-winning rapper Lil' Kim was sentenced Wednesday to a year and a day in prison and fined $50,000 for lying to a federal grand jury to protect friends involved in a 2001 shootout outside a Manhattan radio station. It was far less than the 20-year maximum she could have gotten and the nearly three-year sentence prosecutors had sought. U.S. District Judge Gerard Lynch said he had considered the public perception of sending a young black entertainer to prison far longer than Martha Stewart, who spent five months in prison and remains under house arrest. While many rappers have served time in prison, Lil' Kim, who was convicted in March, is the first big-name female artist to do so. Before the sentence was handed down, Lil' Kim spoke briefly, her voice breaking. She admitted to lying to the grand jury and at her trial. "At the time I thought it was the right thing to do but I now know it was wrong," she said. She also asked the judge to weigh more than just this one event. "I have worked hard my entire life for everything I have, everything I have accomplished," Lil' Kim said. "I ask you to consider my entire life's work and not just the days in the grand jury and on the witness stand in the courtroom. I'm a God-fearing, good person." The rapper has to report to prison by Sept. 19. Her lawyers are hoping she will be sent to the facility in Danbury, Conn., so that she can be closer to her mother. She didn't say anything as she left the courthouse. Lil' Kim, who turns 30 next week, was the sidekick and mistress of the late Notorious B.I.G. As a solo artist, she has become known for her revealing outfits and raunchy lyrics. She won a Grammy in 2001 for her part in the hit remake of "Lady Marmalade." The rapper told the grand jury she did not notice two of her close friends at the scene of the shootout - her manager, Damion Butler, and Suif Jackson, known as "Gutta." Both have pleaded guilty to gun charges. Jurors at Lil' Kim's trial saw radio station security photos that depicted Butler opening a door for the rap star, and two witnesses who once made records with Lil' Kim said they saw her at the station with Butler and Jackson. The gun battle happened outside WQHT-FM, known as Hot 97, when Lil' Kim's entourage crossed paths with a rival rap group, Capone-N-Noreaga. Lil' Kim's group confronted the others about the Capone-N-Noreaga song "Bang, Bang" that contained an insult to Lil' Kim from rival Foxy Brown. One man was hurt in the shootout that followed. Hot 97 is the same station where the posses of 50 Cent and The Game traded bullets in February. At the trial, Lil' Kim testified that she had a falling out after the shooting with Butler and with Antoine "Banger" Spain and James "Lil' Cease" Lloyd, the two witnesses who said they saw her with Butler and Jackson. She said they were freeloading at her New Jersey townhouse. "I was just fed up," she told jurors. "They were taking advantage of me." Her career began with an impromptu street performance for Notorious B.I.G. in their Brooklyn neighborhood. She became "Queen Bee," the only woman in his otherwise all-male clique. Her 1996 debut album, "Hard Core," was laced with sexually explicit lyrics and became a big hit, thanks to songs like "Crush On You" and others with unmentionable titles. In other legal problems, Lil' Kim was sued earlier this year by two men who say she failed to pay them for songwriting and performing services for the 2003 album "La Bella Mafia," which sold more than 1 million copies. When she arrived at the courthouse Wednesday, some fans were there to proclaim their support. One man's T-shirt read "Free Lil' Kim" and "Real Men Don't Snitch." 07/06/05 15:20 EDT
  6. I think this whole thing is very silly. But Steve Stoute is the man. He can do whatever he wants...ha ha.
  7. When u work that hard at something...things are bound 2 fall in2 place. That's really cool how all that worked out, even if it did take alot of effort.
  8. DESTINY'S CHILD - Cater 2 U Man, if i ever see any of the DC girls on the street...i'm gonna kick them in the shins 4 breaking up. Then i'm gonna run away really fast.
  9. RIHANNA - Pon De Replay Man, i love this joint...perfect 4 the summertime.
  10. I planned on getting R. Kelly's and Missy's new albums 2day...but didn't have time. I'm gonna get 'em 2morrow. I wazn't disappointed by Happy People / U Saved Me at all. It waz just 4 a certain kinda music lover. I didn't listen 2 Happy People much, but i love U Saved Me. That album helped get me thru' a very rough time. I love his TP-2 album, but i don't like it when it takes his music an explict route.
  11. Well, i think The Game is trash...but even if i did like him, it's an injustice 2 compare him 2 2Pac. Come on now.
  12. I like Craig David. I a few of his songs come across a lil' watered down (lyrically and productionwise)...but overall, i love him. I got both of his albums about 4 months ago, but had his singles when they were new.
  13. MISSY 'MISDEMEANOR' ELLIOT w/ CIARA + FATMAN SCOOP - Lose Control I miss Missy's original style...but her new stuff isn't bad at all.
  14. Thanx 4 posting that. I have never really followed Tom Cruise, but i don't really see him kickin' it 2 JJ+FP back in the day. It's cool 2 know he's a fellow JJ+FP. "Just CRUISin'" is probably his favorite FP joint...ha ha. (Sorry...bad joke)
  15. They've said that they aren't trying 2 replace her. They want 2 move on with their careers, however, when Arista closed their doors, their Greatest Hits album waz up in the air with no promotion and no one 2 put it out. They both also couldn't get their solo albums 2 take form, tho' they both have worked on one. They wanted 2 promote the greatest hits album with the TV show and felt that jumping on the reality show craze waz the way 2 go. They keep saying that replacing Left Eye is not the idea, but 2 put other entertainers thru' boot camp, TLC style, and the winner will record a song with them and tour with them. They said that if the winner dose have crazy chemistry with them, that they won't rule out future colaborations, but that inviting them in 2 TLC is not their intention.
  16. FRESH PRINCE, SHAGGY, SEAN PAUL - Hey Sexy Lady (Remix)
  17. Wow! Thanx 4 that review. I'm so happy 4 u. I know how i felt when i saw JJ+FP. Even that one time when i stepped out of the club and they took the stage and i wazn't let back in, while i waz partly furious, i waz also just happy 2 have seem them on stage b4 the whole thing kicked off. Seeing JJ+FP live is one of the best times of my life. I can't wait 2 see them again. I'm glad that u don't have any $300 fines and speeding tickets 2 go along with your JJ+FP story...ha ha.
  18. If u wanna get really technical, u could talk about the promo singles like Just One of Those Days, Guys Ain't Nothing But Trouble, The Groove, U Saw My Blinker, La Fiesta. Don't forget Jeff's singles either...For Da Love of Da Game, Break It Down, Rock Wit U, and My Peoples.
  19. SKEE-LO - I Wish My local Hip-Hop/R-N-B radio station is haveing one of their "Way Back Laid Back Weekends" which plays a good bit of old skool and 90's music. When they have these, it's the only time that 80% of the stuff they play isn't garbage. Nothing is better than hearing one of your favorite, yet forgotten artists on the radio again.
  20. "Yo Jada Baby! Can u get that gum off my shoe?"
