Yeah, it just came out this Tuesday in the US. I knew Da Brakes would either have the album or at least be interested in it. I don't know if i'd say this album is better than his 1st...but it's at least pretty close. I like the way this one has fewer uptemo joints. The production of the slow and mid-tempo trax always seem 2 be a step higher than the uptempo jams from TUG.

That's why i think some old skool legends should get 2gether and form a label that specializes in Hip-Hop legends. That way those arists are properly promoted and have total control and their albums can come out whenever they wanna put them out. And since most Hip-Hop legends are very humble, down 2 earth people, there wouldn't be many egos and stuff like that. They would be so happy 2 get the deals they got that they would focus on making the best music ever since it would be so easy 4 them 2 put out product. And i bet after awhile, all their projects would do pretty well or at least have a good loyal following.

SWITCH IN THE TOP10 BILLBOARD!
JumpinJack AJ replied to Frenetic's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
Ahhh...it's always nice 2 say a Fresh Prince single is a Top 10 hit. I've waited for this newz for over 3 months!! -
2PAC - Just Like Daddy After taking a long break from 2Pac's music (mostly becuz people like Eminem have destoryed the gems he created), i've been listening 2 him alot this past week. It's amazing how Ja-Rule and 50 Cent have tried 2 bite his style and they still come off as the biggest jokes in commerical rap.

Oh, and i can't see why people would say Common Sense and Kanye West don't fit well 2gether. This kinda music is right up Common's ally. It's alot like his past stuff but for the 2-0-0-5. Like i said in my post, it's not like Kanye altered his style or sound. After 2002's Electric Circus, i think many of us were scared.

Don't make me answer that.

I have followed Keith Sweat since the late 80's..and have all of his albums since the mid-90's. I can't wait 2 hear the new album. I gotta confess tho', i haven't listened 2 his albums in a big way since like 96/97. He's caught in a weird place where he waz blazing hot but since times have changed, he's not gettin support from radio and TV. He's also would do some trax that were a stretch 4 him. Either way, he always pumps out quality. I can't wait 2 hear something new.

Of course i'm gonna be taking sides cuz i've been down with Immature since 1992 and grew up with them thru' their music. But i'm in love with Marques' new album. It's straight R-N-B and all the young fellaz like myself will be able 2 relate 2 the whole album. Here's my mini-review 4 those who are interested in it. ALL BECAUSE OF YOU - This is the 1st single most of u have heard. It's a R-N-B/Hip-Hop track. The song releates perfectly 2 what i've been goin' thru' in the last few months. It's about a guy who lost his way in a relationship and he's since fixed his head and he's desperate 2 get his girl back. Fellow Immature/Imx member Young Rome pops in with a rap taking the song 2 the next level. SEX WITH YOU - Thumpin' slow/mid tempo song. The song isn't tastefull and nasty, but u can tell what it's about just by the title. Great vocals. MARRIAGE - This a great song. Another one i totally feel lyrically. He's saying how much he loves a girl that he's been with for ages but that he's not ready 2 get married. Beautiful but simple R-N-B sound. 12 O'CLOCK - This one is club joint. The production is good but a bit single. It's MH who takes it 2 the next level with sing-song-rap style. Typical party lyrics. Joe Budden pops up on the track. However, his appearance on this track dosen't makes sense like it did on their HUGE hit "Clubbin.'" NAKED - This is the title track. Slow and sexy solid R-N-B sound 2 it. Marques' vocal approach 2 the song is very soulful and mature...yet it slightly reminds me of Immature/Imx type stuff...which is a good thing. He's tastefully talking about anticipating getting really close 2 a girl...mentally and physically. DO YOU MIND - Another slow one about getting intmate with a lady. Classy "drop drop" sound 2 the song. U'll know what i mean if u hear it. CHEAT - Scattery mid-tempo R-N-B joint. The song is about how he's unfaithful 2 his girl and that he dosen't wanna be that way, but he is. The sound of this song actually reminds me of Michael Jackson's new stuff. I WASN'T READY - This track is also produced by the up and coming Corner Boyz porduction team (who also did "All Because of You"). Another dope one. Uptempo yet smooth R-N-B song. He sings about not being ready 4 a serious relationship...but now he is, even tho' it could be 2 late. Just a dope song. SOMETHING ELSE - Uptempo joint. Unique sounds tossed in2 the mix. This track is about a girl who's on his mind that did him wrong. Overall, he's dumpin' the huney...ha ha. I LIKE IT - This a club banger. RaRa, who appeared on Imx's 2000 album shows up on the track. He sounds alot older and scarier. Nasty kinda song about pickin' up the oppisite sex. EVERYTHING - Back 2 the sweet R-N-B slow/mid tempo stuff. Just a beautiful love song. Great track. If u get this album at Circuite City by Saturday, it'll be on sale for $9.99. There is an explict lyrics sticker on it but there's pretty much no bad language on it. Either way, there is and edited version (that u wont even know is edited) available.

This album is dope!! One of the best in a looooong time. If u are a fan of real Hip-Hop music, GET IT!! Don't even ?uestion it. Kanye West handles all the production, except for 2 trax done by Jay Dee of Slum Village. Every beat is dope, and Kanye dosen't mess with Common's sound at all. Common, as always has a very poetic soulman approach 2 Hip-Hop. His lyrics are alwys dope, wheter in your face or laidback and just real. The album flows better than any other Hip-Hop album these days. This is true Hip-Hop for the year 2005. Probably the best album we'll hear from ANYONE for years 2 come. Don't sleep!! BE (INTRO) - starts of with very unique synth sound and a guitar. The beat fills up and CS spits the 1st rap. Just dope, i'm not tryna give 2 much away. THE CORNER - Most of u heard this since it's the 1st single. Cool choppy Hip-Hop beat. A deep track wrapped up in the form of a dope track. GO! - This is one of the best trax! It sounds alot like a classic A Touch of Jazz track. The beat is upbeat are summery. Filled with vibes and sampled R-N-B vocals. I can't get over how good this song is. FAITHFUL - Steady thumpin' Hip-Hop beat with sped up R-N-B vocals during the hook. Not Kanye's typical sped up vocal style (don't worry Tim, i know they annoy u). Poetic love joint. TESTIFY - Straight Hip-Hop with a dash of rawness mixed in. R-N-B vocals sampled thru' out it giving it a soulful feel. LOVE IS - Man, another summery Hip-Hop beat. I could cruise 2 this all summer long. Universal theme of love in the world. CHI-CITY - Common gives props 2 his home land on this one. Classic Hip-Hop beat. Lots of scratching on it. This is Common reppin' who he is and where he's from. THE FOOD (LIVE) - This is a dope recording from Common + Kanye on The Dave Chappelle Show. Dope Hip-Hop joint, but they should have put a studio version of the song on the album. The out-of-no-where live track slightly interupts the flow of the album. I could do without Kanye on the track...but who cares, it's still a good song. REAL PEOPLE - Hip-Hop joint with sampled horns adding a nice jazzy feel 2 it. A lil' bit of scratching here and there. This song touches on live and the way of the world when it comes 2 living 2gether. THEY SAY - John Legend pops up on this song without stealing the spotlight. Dope Hip-Hop beat with tons of jazzy soulful vibes thrown in. IT'S YOUR WORLD - Steady thumpin' Hip-Hop beat with retro R-N-B vocals sampled in the backround of the song.

R kelly - "Trapped In The Closet"(5 Part story)
JumpinJack AJ replied to Vipa's topic in Caught in the Middle
I picked up the "In The Kitchen / Trapped In The Closet" CD single 2 weeks ago. I can't wait 4 the new album. -
The Dairy Queens around here are drive-up/walk-up also. However, there is one about half an hour away from me that u can actually go in and sit down.

All i can say is WOW! This CD is amazing. I love the old Motown stuff and none of these remixes leave me feeling they messed with the music in a bad way. THE JACKSON 5 - I Want You Back - The guitar starts it off, then a retro Hip-Hop beat drops. Perfect way 2 start off the album. GLADYS KNIGHT + THE PIPS - I Heard It Through The Grapevine - It starts off with little music under the vocals. Then this live band back up the original vocals. MARVIN GAYE - Let's Get It On - This on is CRAZY!! The beat is a laidback back, summery soul thump. Marvin's vocals are of course timeless. This remix could top the charts if they released it. STEVIE WONDER - Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours - Funkly live band remix of the track. Stays true 2 the original. THE JACKSON 5 - ABC - Bass heavy mix with a dash of old skool mixed in. RARE EARTH - I Just Want To Celebrate - Raw hip-hop beat backs this one up. Some nice scratches are tossed in. This isn't one of my fav songs in the 1st place tho.' THE TEMPTATIONS - Papa Was A Rollin' Stone - DJ JAZZY JEFF + PETE KUZMA bring it on this house meets R-N-B soul remix. This original song isn't comparable 2 alot of The Temptations stuff, but JJ + PK totally flipped it in a way that i like better. It's dope. What else do u expect from da Magnificent?!? CHECK IT!! SMOKEY ROBINSON - Quiet Storm - amazing song from the start. This throwback R-N-B take on it is great. While the beat is a bit sinple, it's about as far as u wanna take it on the remix of this song. DIANA ROSS + THE SUPREMES - My World Is Empty Without You - This is defintly one of the best remixes on the album. It's a steady bumping slow take on the song. WOW!! THE TEMPTATIONS - Just My Imagination - One of the greatest R-N-B songs of all time. Legendary Hip-Hop producer Easy Mo Bee reworks this track in a vibes infested R-N-B soul remix. U'd expect this sound from A Touch of Jazz. THE UNDISPUTED TRUTH - Smiling Faces Sometimes - Not one of my favs in the 1st place. This remix keeps a dash of the original feel in it...but it's a basic R-N-B remix 4 it. SMOKEY ROBINSON + THE MIRACLES - Tears of A Clown - This is a upbeat dance remix of the song. Interesting. EDDIE KENDRICKA - Keep On Truckin' - DJ Spinna handled this one. The beat is live band meets Hip-Hop funk. EDWIN STARR - War - this is a trippy jungled flava'd dance version. King Britt did this one. RICK JAMES - Mary Jane - This funk remix is a bonus cut. Definitly a great take on the track. If u check this album b4 listening 2 it. Make sure u check The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Temptations, and Diana Ross + The Surpremes remixes.

"Miami" is an alright song, but i think it's one of his weakest ever. Compared 2 this other stuff, "Miami" is nothing. I remember getting mad when Big Willie Style 1st came out cuz all the reviews talked about the song even tho' there were others they should have been talking about. Then, when he did the video, i waz like "why, Why, WHY!?!?"

Checkers is just burger place. I'm not sure where they are. I just know they have some up the east coast. 2 the best of my knowlege, they are all drive up joints with picnic tables outside. It's great going there on warm, sunny spring or summerdays. However, me and a friend went up their this winter so we couldn't eat outside and i don't usually let people eat in my car. So we got our food at Checkers, then ran across the parking lot 2 the Wendy's next 2 it. We got Frosty's there and sat down with Checkers...ha ha.

I picked up Motown Remixed. The album is amazing!! Expect a review from me 2nite or 2morrow.

JumpinJack AJ replied to willsmithlover01's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
willsmithlover...u wouldn't be from the official Will Smith board, would u? That's the only place where u can find people who actually feel sorry 4 the Loretta character. -
"Moments of Common Sense" brought 2 u by Tim. :)

How on earth could i 4get Timbaland!?!? Hotzappa, i gotta agree with u on Phil Spector. At least back in the '60's. These days he's busy killing girls in his house (if that's true).
