The bonus feature on the 1st Season of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a documentary focusing on the show called Back To Bel-Air. It talks about how the show originated and features commentary and interviews from the writers, directors, and James Avery, Tatyana Ali, and Joseph Marcell. They also talk about DJ Jazzy Jeff and Dumb Dancin' in the documentary. I really didn't expect much more than this so i don't think fans should bug out. I didn't watch much of it yet, but i'm being reminded how rarely they re-ran some of these episodes. Some of them i've only seen once and it's been so long that it's like seing them 4 the 1st time.

There's definitly nothing wrong with more websites. The more the better...as long as they are maintained. I think it's important 2 link them 2 this site since it is the center of info. -
I cut in on the show during number 7 on the countdown...so i missed most of his stuff, but here's what i saw......... Da 'Prince waz dressed in casual street gear. Dark brown streetboots (Code Red style), baggy bland blue jeans w/ his traditional big belt buckle, a tight-white, long sleeve shirt with unbuttoned tan short sleever shirt over it with a tan hat (which waz alot like the black one i went 2 buy the other day, 2 only find out that someone else bought it, THEN 2 find out the next day that my best friend who went 2 see JJ+FP at the MTV Beach House waz the person 2 bought it  ) Anyways, i cut in where they asked him what waz the most romantic thing he did for Jada on Valentine's Day. He talked about what he did for her B-Day instead, saying that she came home 2 an empty house where he had taped a DVD on the door, she popped it in and it waz him saying he wanted her 2 go upstairs, get dressed and go outside. When she did that, there waz a CD of him in the car saying 'just get in the car, u don't know where u are going, but to sit back and find out'. The car took her 2 a restaurant in San Fransico where he waz waiting 4 her. Then then premiered "Switch." Before they aired it, he talked about the title "Lost + Found." I waz right when i 1st said what i thought it meant (had 2 rub that in). He said that the title speaks of him when it comes 2 music, that sometimes he's in the zone when it's ready 2 do an album and sometimes he's not. It kinda funny cuz in so many words, he waz saying that he waz really not in the zone when he did Born To Reign...but that with this new project, he waz back where he needed 2 be. He also said it spoke about his life and Hip-Hop...that sometimes they are both a lil' lost and then found again. Then they aired the video....which waz insane. It couldn't have been more perfect. Keep in mind, i chose not 2 see it here on the site. I wanted the full effect and that's what i got. They cut the audience at the end and they were loosin' their mind!! Just seeing FP in person is and amazing thing...but 2 see him AND the video, a return 2 some of his illest stuff, they were in awe. U could see it in their faces. They got 2 audience member reactions. The one guy waz a big FP fan and just said that the beat, the video, the girls waz all tight. Then they cut 2 a girl who just waz hyped and talking about the dance. Later they asked him what true love is. He said that true love is different 4 everybody, but that a relationship should have a life/death/life theme. Things start up, go great, then eventually a relationship has the potential 2 die...but true love will make both sides work 4 it 2 work out, and live again. Right b4 he left, he announced it waz Free's birthday and that b4 he left, he had 2 give her something....he ran off and came back with a huge basket full of girly stuff.

Yeah, most of u aren't very good at sharing details with this kinda stuff. I just cut in at number 7 on the re-run...hopefully i didn't miss 2 much.

BET AIRING SPOTS FOR THE PREMIER OF "SWITCH"
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I love how they also refur 2 him as "Rapper-Actor" and not the other way around. They just aired it again and said "tonight." Is he swinging by today or Wed?!?! -
I don't watch 106+Park on a regular basis, i try 2 catch the re-runs in the morning when i'm checkin' e-mail, but i'm always hyped 2 see Freestyle Friday. For those of u who don't get BET or watch the show, every Friday, they bring on 2 unsigned emcees and rappers 2 spit 2 rounds against each other. One of them wins and goes on2 next week. Recently they had a guy Sonny, who had what it takes. Dope lyrics, flow, voice, the whole package, had 2 retire for winning 7 weeks in a row. He has this overall down-2-earth vibe that stood out as weel. Well, as he won that last time, Jermaine Dupri walked out on stage, said he wanted 2 sign him 2 So So Def and put a big blinged out So So Def chain around his neck. It waz the coolest thing i've ever seen. It's definitly a big sign of inspiration 4 us unsigned artists. JD went on 2 talk about how he followed Sonny's rhymes and waz very impressed and that he wanted 2 blow him up. Free then gave JD props for moving over 2 Virgin where he took So So Def and now serves as the President of the Urban Department. Free made JD stick around a lil' longer where she made him take off his hat cuz she heard he cut his hair...and sure enuff, he shaved he head. He then talked about So So Def bringing out a bunch of new artists and that he's starting So So Def Entertainment with a new show called Welcome To Atlanta which will focus on the ATL music scene with artists like Usher, Ciara, Lil' Jon, and so on. She asked him about Janet and he said everything waz great there. Lastely, he said that Bow Wow's next album is gonna be "stupid" and that the 1st single is gonna featuring him w/ Ciara. Jagged Edge is also working on a new album with him which is promises will be dope. He also said he worked on Mariah Carey's new single...which i've heard and i LOVE it.

BET is now airing a commercial for Wednesday's 106+Park when FP stops by. They show some footage of the video during it. I'm really glad i haven't checked it out on the internet cuz when i saw the parts of it in the commercial, that crazy excitment i'd get when "Ring My Bell" and the other older videos were premiering came over me...i felt i waz 11 all over again. Infact, the hype i picked up from this commercial waz alot more like the JJ+FP days then the time FP waz on Columbia. In the heart, i'm feeling really good about all this.

Someone posted that FP waz an exec. producer of the soundtrack, didn't they? I think it's important 2 come out and support him that way. I really wanna hear those Amerie and John Legend trax....not 2 mention re-hearing "Now That We Found Love." -
Just a reminder... The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air comes out on DVD this Tuesday. Circuit City has it for $22.99. Their add says "includes bonus disc" under it....who knows what that means. Shark Tale comes out on DVD. Circuit City has it for $14.99 and if u get it there, u get a free Shark Tale lithograph w/ a certificate of authenticity. They also have the Shark Tale soundtrack on sale for $9.99. U can find the Shark Tale DVD for $15.99 at Target...and if u get it there, u get a free Shark Tale bubble watch. I, Robot is also at Circuit City on sale for $16.49 at Circuit City. Last but not least, the Hitch soundtrack is out and on sale for $10.99 at Circuit City. It's a big week people...go out there and spend your money!! Besides, u won't find any of this stuff at sales prices like this after Saturday!! Oh yeah, on an off-topic tip, Circuit City has all their CD's for sale at $10.99 or less (as long as they aren't regularly priced over $13.99).

nelly ignores hip hops political power

U know what's sad, i have Twista's album and didn't even remember the song being on it...shows how much i listen 2 it. Now that u bring it up, i do barely remember the song...but since i expected a lil' more from him on about half the album, i just don't listen 2 it that much and totally 4got all about it. -
Don't be 2 sure of that...u are talking 2 the king of music-digging!! :ali:

Here they are in no paticular order. I'm not sticking strictly 2 this list tho'...there are way 2 many albums that are gonna be over-looked by a top 10 list. 2PAC - Me Against The World TLC - CraZySeXyCOol MC HAMMER - Inside Out SKEE-LO - I Wish AHMAD - (self-titled) ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT - Zingalamaduni SALT-N-PEPA - Very Necessary LL COOL J - Mr. Smith QUEEN LATIFAH - Black Reign SPEECH - Hoopla

Not Hip-Hop....toss Nelly in2 the "Rap Bin." Twista + Faith's "Hope" is an incrdible song. I'd like 2 see this song do well for a few more months. That song is flawless. The Coach Carter soundtrack dosen't look very good, but if the song isn't released on an import single, i'm gonna have 2 get it cuz the song is that incredible. Kanye West's "Jesus Walks" didn't impress me much. I like the song, but i think it waz very overated. Not 2 many people REALLY felt the song 4 it's lyrics. When i went 2 see Musiq in B-more, the DJ played the song b4 Musiq performed and these girls, who, 4 the most part, were strippers with cloths on, danced 2 the song. I waz just like, "how can u come here in boots and a skimpy dress and dance like that 2 "Jesus Walks." -
There isn't any single for "Switch"...at least not yet. Interscope dosen't really release singles so i doubt it'll be released. Possibly overseas tho.'

"Just One Of Those Days" Appreciation Post
JumpinJack AJ replied to Freshest Prince's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
"Just One of Those Days" is hilarious. Yet another track that deserves a video. The reason they edited "butt" waz just becuz Hip-Hop wazn't very commercial until the time of Rock The House...so they were keeping it ultra clean. After all, look at how they re-did "Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble" for Jive. -

There's another version of the single where instead of using Red behind the font, they use Blue. I can see if i can scan them, but recently my computer hasn't been working great when sending pictures. -

I don't think it's important 2 rap about politics. I myself don't follow them much at all...but when i wrote alot, i did write about the state of the world and life. Nelly (and most chart-topping artists) don't have anything benificial 2 say in their music. It's one thing if he wazn't preaching poison...but he's out there talking about material things and smoking weed, AND saying that it's important 2 steer away from anything serious...that's just sad. When Grandmaster Flash + The Furious Five did "The Message," it waz a landmark cuz it waz as honest as could be. Many Public Enemy and KRS-One trax did well or are well-respected cuz u are hearing it from someone who knows what they are talking about. Other classics like "Self Distruction" (Heavy D + The Boyz, Doug E. Fresh, Ms. Melody, etc) and "Waterfalls" (TLC) did well cuz the artists wrote the songs and can across in a personal way. But when u hear Jadakiss' "Why" is comes off very weak and unneccessary. He either is totally faking it 4 sales or his other music simply has really spoke 2 the people deeply, which is why the song dosen't work. Alot of current rappers like 50 Cent, Ludacris, Lil' Jon, and Chingy could never do a political song cuz their teenybopper fans wouldn't understand them and real Hip-Hop heads could never respect a song like that from them since it seemed forced or fake since their other songs have no real meaning 2 them. We haven't heard a real song about life commercially in Hip-Hop/Rap simply cuz the artists can't handle it. Black Eyed Peas pulled it off with "Where Is The Love"...but i can't remember the last time a song like that waz done.
