USHER - Caught Up

People in this world amaze me. I hope that guy comes across the same racism that he served out 2 her times 100. Stuff like that is in God's hands.

It'll have been snowing for like 20 hours b4 i even would leave. That could be alot of snow b4 i even get in the car. We'll see. I'm having a real bad week. So while something like this could be alot of fun, i don't even have alot of motivation 4 it. I've seen Jeff 2 times already, i really wanna go, but i'm just gonna leave it 2 the weather.

Hip-Hop culture isn't limited 2 only one way of living. Different music is 4 different people. It's the rappers who make music that dosen't really mean anything that kills me. The music that's just fantasy with no ties 2 real life or anything worth listening 2 is a waste of a record deal...which is a category that is very full right now.

There's a difference between discussing and issue and calling 4 change and just talking about the same stuff over and over again. These commercial fools just talk about stuff but they don't make it sound like something that needs 2 change and they don't offer a plan 2 fix things. When artists like 2Pac talked about stuff like that, they are saying "this ain't right" and "this is what we gotta do 2 change this." People like Game seem 2 just talk about that stuff 2 make themselves sound hard and like they come from places that they often don't. I'm gonna go 2 a music store 2nite so i'll give his full album a listen, but i'm not expecting much. Once again, Nick Cannon got called out. He may not be what some people want, but he's got lots of substance on his album. People who haven't heard it wouldn't know that...which just shows how much i can respect their opinion.

More like they ain't goin' anywhere when it comes 2 artistic direction. Listening 2... USHER - Seduction Makes me wanna go out and scoop up a huney.

I Thought It Was Supposed To Be 2050
JumpinJack AJ replied to JamesUK's topic in Caught in the Middle
U shouldn't be the one buggin' out about people putting words in other people's mouths. Look at your history of posts. All u do is put words in2 the mouths of people who disagree with your childish taste in commercial rap music. -
Someone posted this a few years ago. I don't watch SNL either so i've never seen it.

Ahhh...they are calling for 8-24 inches of snow that is gonna start Friday afternoon and continue thru' Saturday...the day of the party. So it's looking unlikely that i'm gonna drive about 5 hours in snow there and 5 hours back.

Yeah, we been talking about this on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air/TV board. Jazzy Jeff comments a lil' on every episode i've seen (92-95). This is the 2nd of the 3 "I Love The 90's" installments. It'll be funny 2 see if Jeff turns in2 one of those funny VH-1 regulars on these shows.
-
Yeah, it's one of those albums i pop in once a year and beat myself up 4 4getting how dope the album is. Everytime i pop it in, it takes me right back 2 1996. Do u know if he did any other videos for it other than "No." Right now i'm listening 2 GUERILLA BLACK + MARIO WINANS "You're The One." I clowned Guerilla Black for being a Notorious B.I.G. rip-off...but this song is dope. He isn't jacking Biggie's style 2 much on this one, but he still sounds like him.

Jazzy Jeff on VH1's I Love The '90s Part Deux
JumpinJack AJ replied to TopDawg14's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I've seen every episode except for 1990 (and maybe 1991)...Jazzy Jeff is on every episode i think. The few things i remember him talking about waz William Shatner paintballing and Shaggy's "Boombastic." He did a hilarious but weak impression going "Mr lova love......hmmmmmmm." When they talked about Montell Jodran's single "This Is How We Do It," he said he went 2 visit his mom and she waz singing and dancing 2 it...which made him uncomfortable. -
This Saturday, BET is having a Fresh Prince-athon. It starts at 9 a.m. and they are airing 9 hours of episodes back 2 back. Check it!!

I Thought It Was Supposed To Be 2050
JumpinJack AJ replied to JamesUK's topic in Caught in the Middle
lambert thinks anyone who speaks there mind and dosen't like Eminem and G-Unit is hilarious. I guess he finds are advanced look on Hip-Hop strange and low-tolerance 4 trash funny. -
I know what u mean. When i hear some of the beats Ja-Rule has gotten, i could totally see an emcee with skill taking that beat and making an incredible song with it. "New York" and that track he did with Bobby Brown are the few i remember. Nelly's song "Dillema" is pretty good in my opinion, but i can just imagin how a real emcee coulda really turned that kinda beat out. Alot of legends these days get ripped off when it comes 2 production, and this talented producers are adding 2 the problems by giving dope beats 2 fake-rappers. Producers are selling out 4 money like rappers have been for years.

Oh yeah, i plan on sleeping all day Saturday so that i'll be awake all nite. We are gonna try 2 go 2 Ray's b4 we go 2 the club. That's the place were they invented the Philly Cheesesteak.

I think most fake-thugs in the industry change their opinion of FP once they meet him. Whether they diss him or think he's Hollywood, they soon see him 4 what he really is. A very intellegent, down 2 earth, and positive Hip-Hop head. I think most of them are kinda starstruck when they meet him. 1st cuz he's one of the biggest celebrities in the world, 2ndly cuz he started out just like them, as a rap star and they see themselves as possibly following in his path.

I Thought It Was Supposed To Be 2050
JumpinJack AJ replied to JamesUK's topic in Caught in the Middle
:ditto: My point exactly. Besides, 2 me, Willennium waz clever word play. 2050 is just a number...and one a looooooooong way from 2005. Can't this fool even count?!? -
i came across that same thing last nite. I didn't feel like registering 2 the site 2 put my name in so i didn't. I'm probably going anyway...i'm so hyped, i'm hoping my plans don't fall apart like last year.
-
That's really cool. Most people that diss FP havn't heard any of his music other than the singles. And we all know Columbia didn't push 4 the best songs while he waz with them. There's a difference in saying something is wack cuz u've heard it and don't like it and saying it's wack just 2 say it, without even having any knowledge on the topic.
-
...sounds like someone went 4 the ever-popular "get big name producers 2 overshadow my lack of skillz" tactic.
-
On the track "We Good" featuring Kardinal Offishall, he drops a line refuring 2 the The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It goes as follows... "Gun-finger in the air, shooting blanks thinkin' about the day i could live next to Phil Banks" Just thought i'd share.

It's long over due, but i FINALLY picked up Pete Rock's new album "Soul Survivor II." The intro 2 the album, which is a spoken work track by Black Ice (who i saw speak live in B-more when i say Musiq) waz actually recorded by DJ Jazzy Jeff. Of course it waz produced by Pete Rock, but it's kinda cool 2 know that they are cool enuff that Pete Rock had the track recorded by Jeff at A Touch of Jazz. Pete Rock thanks Jazzy Jeff in the Thank U's and so dose BBE in theres. The rest of this post has nothing 2 do with Jazzy Jeff....just the album. Pete Rock dose it again!! Quality, timeless, Hip-Hop. Every beat is good...if not great. Some of the artists on the album didn't impress me much but the majority are talented. Talib Kweli, Jay Dee (J-Dilla), Slum Village, and Pharoahe Monch shine the most in my opinion. The real gems how ever are the 2 Pete Rock + C.L. Smooth trax. Technically there are 3 but Talib Kweli takes all the verses and C.L. is just on the hook. Anyone starving for some non-commercial yet, not underground Hip-Hop, u should really give this album a listen. I think Jeff's album is better than Pete's current one, but i compare it 2 the Pete Rock + C.L. Smooth albums as i compare Jazzy Jeff's album 2 the JJ+FP albums. U WANT the group 2 be 2gether as a unit, but u are just happy 2 have some good music by a legend u grew up on musically. Pete Rock dosen't really rap on this album. Sure, he waz never the lyrical one, but i expected a few rhymes from him. He only adlibs a lil' and takes a hook here and there. Not much DJ's either. Just dope beats and some underground and true skool talent. There's even a current Pete Rock + C.L. Smooth pic inside the insert.

Wow! That sounds amazing...wish i had digital cable.
