  1. It isn't a very popular show...i doubt it'll air outside of the US. It's kinda ironic that it's called The People's Choice Awards...but alota people CHOOSE 2 watch something else.
  2. I'd really like 2 see Da 'Prince do something with The Neptunes. I don't like every single track they do, but they are creative fellas with alot of talent. I love stuff they've done for LL Cool J, TLC, Usher, Kelis, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Babyface, and the list goes on.
  3. "Drop It Like It's Hot" and the "Flava In Ya Ear" remix made it on the list strictly cuz of the 2-second cameos of their kids in the video.
  4. U sold Big Willie Style and Willennium?!?! What on earth were u thinking."?!?!??
  5. I just wanted 2 draw attention 2 the pinned topics on the top of each board. I think that once the last post from a topic is a month old, it should be un-pinned, unless it's a very important topic. I just see all these dying posts hanging out of the top of some of the boards. One of the boards even has so many pinned topics that it's taking up half the 1st page. I'm sure there are some people like myself who ignore the pinned topics a few days after they've been up. Just a thought 4 the mods out there.
  6. I wazn't saying that Nas' music waz igorant. I don't listen 2 much of his stuff The Firm started turning me off 2 him, but i try 2 stay a lil' current on his stuff. I'm just saying that he is an artist who often gets 2 the top of the charts, and reguardless of what the music is, alot of commercial rap fans like everything that gets 2 the top of the charts. But looking at that post, many of them look like fans of commercial rap and not die-hard Nas fans. Commercial rap is often ignorant songs and lyrics which appeal 2 igorant people. Nas is going 2 get some of those fans...and that's why a post like that exists over there. I'm not worried about educating those fools. I'll admire anyone who stands up 4 FP, but i'm not gonna take time out of my busy day 2 talk 2 stupid people who will just go listen 2 G-Unit after dissing my post.
  7. DJ JAZZY JEFF - 105 FM Mixshow (July 11, 2003)
  8. I waz happy when i 1st heard that FP won. However, The People's Choice Awards are a joke...nobody watches them or cares about them. Hardly any of the celebs show up. The only ones that do are the ones who present and/or win one. I remember watching them in the mid-90's and i thought they were just pathetic. I noticed how low they get ranked on ratings as well. Havn't watched them in ages. I had no idea that FP waz gonna be there, i would have watched if i knew that. Maybe the award show has fixed up their game since i last watched them (in like '97).
  9. Hey, back in 2001, i had 2 get a Playboy 4 that FP interview. I had one of my friends get it tho'...i didn't like the idea of buying it in person.
  10. Thanx!! It's good 2 know that FP made a profit off it. It waz cool 2 read about some of the things he's done around Philly without all the spot lights on him. Most rappers do stuff like that but they want cameras around them 2 look good and get attention.
  11. 4 those of u who don't watch BET, they have this show where they show the have a countdown everyday featuring the top 5 videos with the same quality. This episode's theme waz Father + Son. Ray-J (Brandy's brother) waz hosting it and they opened up with FP's "Just The Two of Us." It waz really disappointing however cuz they literally only showed 15 to 20 seconds of the video. It should have been number one cuz after all, the video not only featured Trey, but the whole song waz about family values. Next up waz Craig Mack's "Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)." A dope song, YES but it only features Puffy holding his kid for liike 2 seconds. Up next waz Snoop and Pharrell "Drop It Like It's Hot." At this point i waz no longer interested in the show....but guess who popped up next. LL Cool J with "Hush." Of course i had 2 stick around for number 1 now. And is it just me, or dose the girl that Cool J is talking 2 not have the most gorgous smile u've ever seen!?!? They topped off the chart with Nas and "Bridging the Gap." In my opinion, "Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)" and "Drop It Like It's Hot" didn't even belong on the list. They only featured short cameos of their kids. LL's "Hush" should have been number 3 since LL shares the spotlight equally with his son. Even tho' i don't like "Bridging The Gap," i think it should have been number 2 since his dad is featured on the track. Of course, i think "Just The Two of Us" should have been number one. Not cuz FP is my favorite emcee, but cuz the whole song is about family values, what the countdown claimed 2 be about. The fact that Trey and a pregnant Jada are in it as well, and a bunch of other celebrities with their kids only push it over the top as the number 1 choice. I think the people behind the show really did FP wrong by only showing 20 seconds of the video while they showed the full version of the other videos. Just thought i post this.
  12. Just by lookin' at that board, it makes me think that the average Nas fan who uses his website are seriously not intellegent people. That's what all this commercialism has done. Most of the people who listen Rap music on the charts are just ignorant people. If u make the music dumber...dumber people will listen 2 it.
  13. OMARION - O 29 dayz til this album drops....waiting 4 it.
  14. FRESH PRINCE, JADA PINKETTE-SMITH, + TRA-KNOX - 1,000 Kisses
  15. I totally support experementing...but it waz Mos Def's 2nd official album, i just thought it waz a bit early 4 an album like that. Andre's kinda turned me off a lil', i've probably only listened 2 it like 15 times since i got it over a year ago. I really wanted alot more Hip-Hop/Rap on it. I like when an artist gets creative with it...but when they leave us wanting more, it's kinda disappointing.
  16. Opps! I just noticed that it said "Fluid" near the end of the post. I don't have 2 work that day, and i'm gonna request off the next day cuz i really wanna go.
  17. 1996 is what gave it some fresh air tho.' The last quarter of had A Tribe Called Quest, Digital Underground, De La Soul, Nas (before the Escobar crap), Busta Rhymes, The Fugees, and a few other artists came out over shadowing the gangsta rap and gangsta wannabees. There waz non-mainstream success with other real emcees at the time as well. 1993 thru' the middle of 1996 seemed like the hopeless years until those acts i mentioned above returned. In these days of D12, Chingy, Lil' Wayne, Eminem, 50 Cent, Petey Pablo, G-Unit, Ludacris, Jay-Z, Terror Squad, Ja-Rule, Nelly, and so on, i LOOOOOOOOONG for 1996.
  18. I chose the ones i did cuz i think it's important 2 put something on their from each era...all the way from Rock The House 2 Willennium. And 2 make sure they were trax that had both DJ Jazzy Jeff + Fresh Prince on 'em.
  19. Thanx!! I didn't know they were on/in the upcoming issue. I'll be sure 2 pick it when i see it on shelves.
  20. Thanx 4 the feedback. I really just threw that 2gether in like 20 minutes as a joke. After being disappointed in Mos Def's direction on The New Danger, it made me think about all the highly anticipated Hip-Hop albums that took all kinds of twists and turns that left fans scratching their heads.
  21. Yeah, i love the movie Honey. Right now i'm listening 2... KIRK FRANKLIN + TOBY MAC - Throw Ya Hands Up
  22. Your statement reminds me of one of Skee-Lo's lines on his I Can't Stop album. He jokes about saying he wants 2 put out his album..."not a rap mixtape / with a bunch of other artists, i can hold my weight." I like Montell Jordan's idea of an album focusing on the artist and that collabo songs should be done for stuff like soundtracks. Collabos used 2 be rare occasion and usually were great songs. Since the late-90's...everybody had tons of collabos which is just lazy. They just want the other artists 2 attract sales they normally wouldn't get and have 2 put less of themselves in the music. It's quite depressing.
  23. Pants...so...tight...::gasp::....Can't...hardly....walk...
  24. What is this Hello! magazine anyway? Is it just some stupid magazine that nobody cares about? If so, i'll ignore it. However, if it's a well respected magazine, i'll make sure i vote every time i check the board.
  25. Not very interesting...but THANX! I think FP kinda lost focus and interest in all that stuff but will get back in2 when he's older.
