Update: No New DMX Album Yet But He's Recording
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I forgot it came out this week. I actually saw it in stores just an hour ago. I didn't get it because it was packaged with his previous album. I was going to see if I can find a single version of the album. -
Update: No New DMX Album Yet But He's Recording

Ahh, so this might be happening (which sucks, because I want the album)... DMX Is Going After Company Responsible For ‘Redemption Of The Beast’ Album Jan 16th, '15 • by Peter Walsh The Redemption Of The Beast fiasco has caused nothing but headaches for DMX and his team. X is now looking to get legal revenge on the people responsible for the album. According to HipHopDX, X’s manager/brother Montana sent a cease and desist letter to Seven Arts Entertainment and claim that the release is a breach of the contract X signed with the entertainment company. “[seven Arts Entertainment] had no right to put out a new album,” Montana told HHDX. “The only contract DMX had was for Undisputed and that came out two years ago. He don’t have a contract with them to [release] another album.” Montana also claims that the songs on Redemption Of The Beast are throwaways and songs from Undisputed. Multiple people close to DMX, including Swizz Beatz who has been in the studio with X since fall of 2014, have said that the album is fake and the rapper has nothing to do with the project. EMINEM GRANTS THE WISH OF A TERMINALLY ILL FAN
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Caught in the Middle
Wow... Terminally Ill Fan Passes Away One Day After Visit From Eminem Jan 13th, '15• by Aicha Forbes-Diaby TMZ has reported that Gage Garmo, a terminally ill fan who got the opportunity to meet Eminem this past Sunday (Jan. 11) passed away yesterday afternoon (Jan. 12). Garmo had been suffering from osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. In an attempt to raise the 17-year old’s spirits, Eminem arranged a secret visit to Garmo’s home, where the two hung out and chatted for an hour. A candle light vigil was held by friends and family members at Rochester High School, where Garmo was the football team’s manager. Through the power of social media, Garmo got his wish to see his idol. The young man’s friends and families used the hashtag #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem to spread word and it caught Eminem’s eye. Slim Shady was reportedly very adamant about keeping his visit low-key, making sure it didn’t turn into a “media spectacle.” Our prayers go out to the family and friends of Gage Garmo. http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2015/01/terminally-ill-fan-passes-away-one-day-visit-eminem/ -
Eminem Grants The Wish Of A Terminally Ill Fan Iyana Robertson Posted January 12, 2015 One of Eminem’s biggest fans, Gage Garmo, was recently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, and given an estimate of one week to live. The 18-year-old Michigan teen’s biggest wish has been to meet his favorite rapper – and Slim Shady made it happen. With the help of his family, friends and the hashtag #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem, Garmo caught Em’s attention. Today (Jan. 12), Royce da 5’9 took to Instagram to reveal that the fan’s dream had come true. “Mission accomplished, he wrote. “God Bless this beautiful kid and thank you guys for all your hard work…” After losing a leg in a previous diagnosis, this is Garmo’s fifth time with the disease. http://www.vibe.com/article/jazmine-sullivan-mascara-v-sessions

January 12, 2015 | Published By Bandini DJ Premier Announces His First Solo Album, Last Session @ 320 Less than one week into his new studio home in Astoria, Queens, big news is coming from DJ Premier. The longtime Gang Starr producer/DJ has announced his first solo album, Last Session @ 320. Planned for 2015, the title is presumably an homage to the 37th Street address of his just-closed HeadQCourterz Studios (f/k/a D&D Studios), where Premier was first an artist in residence and then an owner, dating back to 1992. “The building was sold in order to change it from commercial business to residential and our leases would not be renewed, so basically that means ‘everybody out!’ It is tough to accept after so many years making that much history there, but life is good and I will continue to make hot music. Passion never leaves your soul and I have a lot of it so I’m ready to continue on.” said Premier in a press statement. He is apparently already referring to his new home, in Kaufman Studios, as “HeadQCourterz” as well. The upcoming album will feature guest MCs, although none have been confirmed at this time. Beyond six albums with the late MC Guru in Gang Starr, DJ Premier has been a co-headlining collaborator on albums with Bumpy Knuckles, and the just-released PRhyme with Royce Da 5’9″. Additionally, Premier has produced full albums by Group Home and Jeru The Damaja. Previously, DJ Premier, as a solo artist, has only released beat compilations and DJ-hosted the 1997 compilation, Haze Presents: NY Reality Check 101. Additionally, Preemo’s label, Year Round Records, has 2015 plans on albums by longtime label artists NYGz, Texas MC Khaleel, former Chubb Rock and Dr. Dre protege The Lady Of Rage, and iconic Compton Rap pioneer MC Eiht.

Update: No New DMX Album Yet But He's Recording
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
The album is gonna be good. While there are a couple of songs that a little bit like filler tracks (due to the production), I might like this better than a couple of his later albums. I'm definitely buying this. It's hard for me to imagine DMX caring about this music coming out. I'm wondering if he's acting like he's against it for the sake of controversy and sales. He has to be making some money off off it or he'd be legally fighting its release. -

JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I hate when stuff like this happens. As a fan, I will get it, unless I preview it and it's garbage. I wonder why they waited so long to release this stuff. Maybe because he hasn't had bad press in awhile. They've just been sitting on this music. Even if he doesn't want it released, I trust DMX will be getting some money out of it. This could service as a "mixtape" that could give him some good hype. However, if it didn't end up on his last album, the material may not be the best. Regardless, a little controversy like this never hurt sales. :) This is the best promotion the album can get without a big budget. -

For those who don't wanna click the link on the article 10 Prince posted.... DMX "Redemption Of The Beast" Album Legitimate, Seven Arts Entertainment CEO Says by Jay Balfour posted Thursday January 08, 2015 at 06:20PM PST | 5 comments DMX says "that's all stolen music," but the label CEO releases a statement claiming they bought the masters in 2012. While both Swizz Beatz and DMX himself have disputed the authenticity of a recently announced album set to be released in his name, the CEO of Seven Arts Entertainment has released a statement claiming that the album is the second to be built from "52 masters acquired by Seven Arts from DMX and his producers in 2012." "DMX and his team fully cooperated on the production of this album," the statement continues. "Redemption of the Beast was the second album planned for release with DMX in September of 2012, following the release of Undisputed. These new masters represent the best of this legendary artist and offer production by some of the best in the industry. All fans are invited to listen to the music, which is the real thing, the ‘rough and ready’ of DMX. The music and artistry speaks for itself.” Earlier today, a publicist for the emcee released a statement in which DMX said, "that's all stolen music." “I spoke to DMX today and he was unaware of the upcoming announcement of the Redemption Of The Beast album," Domenick Nati of Nati Celebrity Services wrote. "When I read him the projected track list of songs to be released X said, ‘that’s all stolen music.’ DMX and myself are highly disappointed that trust was broken and that these songs may be released and sold without X’s knowledge or consent. DMX and Swizz Beatz are working on an album together and fans should look to their official social media accounts for accurate information.” Redemption of the Beast is now the second bungled release from DMX's label signing and his latest statements come almost exactly three years after he expressed initial apprehension regarding his deal with United Media & Music Group, a label connected to Seven Arts on previous deals. In the midst of dealing with a series of release date woes he blamed on the label in early 2012, DMX told Billboard that "it's only one album though" after speaking harshly about UMMG specifically. "The fact that [the label] chose to tell me that makes me reconsider whether or not I made the right decision to **** with them," he said of a release date announcement for his Undisputed album that year. "It's only one album, though. It'll be what it is. But I think [it will come out] second quarter, definitely." Expanding on his rift with the label, X said, "It's like, what the ****, man? Do what you say you're gonna do—do me like you would do any other artist. Like, damn, stick to the ****in' script, you know? Mean what you say. You don't gotta lie to me." Earlier this week, Swizz Beatz took to Instagram to speak out against the release. "I see a lot of people hitting me about this album!!!" he wrote. "I can tell you 100% this is not the album X and I are working on!!!! (I feel like Timbo with the Aaliyah movie rite now) SMH !!!!!! -

January 7, 2015 | Published By Bandini The End Of An Era For Hardcore Hip-Hop…DJ Premier’s Studio Closes Its Doors Today Nas’ Illmatic recorded there. The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready To Die recorded there. Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt recorded there. And nearly every song by Gang Starr, in addition to every track produced by DJ Premier since 1992 was recorded there. Today, on January 7, 2015, Premo announced that D&D Studios a/k/a HeadQCourterz Studios will close its doors forever. To Hip-Hop Heads and lovers of music however, the industrial Midtown Manhattan mainstay will live on in the hearts and ears of many, on albums by Big Pun, Big L, Black Moon, Jeru The Damaja, Group Home, M.O.P., Bumpy Knuckles, Tony Touch, Jay, Nas, Biggie Smalls, Lord Finesse, Craig G, Dilated Peoples, Fat Joe, Das EFX, Showbiz & A.G., Cormega, Ludacris, Bun B, Edo G, Diamond D, O.C., Afu-Ra, Big Daddy Kane, Smif-n-Wessun, Just-Ice, Snoop Dogg, Doug E. Fresh, Slaughterhouse, KRS-One, Heltah Skeltah, Da Beatminerz, The Lady Of Rage, Heather B, O.G.C., Bahamadia, NYGz, Mad Lion, Teflon, Channel Live, Big Shug, Krumbsnatcha, and so forth. Sadly, the studio—which Premier has been physically removing for more than a week from the 37th Street building in the Garment District, is giving way to become luxury apartments. Premier, Premier now said to be headed to Queens’ Kaufman Astoria Studios, more hits are on the way, and HeadQCourterz moves with him. Salute to D&D, HeadQCourterz, Gang Starr, and the legends—living and beyond who made this Hip-Hop landmark so legendary… http://ambrosiaforheads.com/2015/01/the-end-of-an-era-for-hardcore-hip-hop-dd-headqcourterz-studios-closes-its-doors-today/

DMX's camp shut it down too.... DMX Has Nothing To Do WIth ‘Redemption Of The Beast’ Album Jan 7th, '15 • by Emmanuel C.M. Well this is awkward. Yesterday (Jan. 6) the internet went on fire when news broke that DMX is making his return to hip-hop and dropping a new album on Jan. 13. On Amazon, Redemption Of The Beast was spotted, a 16-track LP with guest collaborations from Freeway, Rampage and Jannyce. X and fellow Ruff Ryder Swizz Beatz were pictured in the studio together back in September 2014, which left hip-hop fanatics clamoring for a new project. But hold your horses folks because Dark Man X has nothing to do with this project. A rep from the Yonkers MC’s camp has confirmed with XXL exclusively that they have no involvement with Redemption Of The Beast. They are not the only ones calling out the project. Swizz Beatz and DMX himself took to Instagram to put a stop to the lies (see below). Even though this is disappointing news, you have to be happy with the fact that Swizz did say that Ruff Ryders’ head honcho is working on a new project. Let’s hope it drops in 2015. -

I'm skeptical about Swizz Beats. Other than It's Dark and Hell Is Hot, I never been a big fan of his work. I don't follow his stuff closely, but I don't think I've heard a beat from him that I've liked since the early 2000's. Hopefully he provided him with a proper sound. Lyrically, DMX has stayed consistent, he's just now always picky about the beats he chooses. -

I saw this earlier and wanted to share it. I'm pretty excited...hopefully the album isn't riddled with weak production, which has been the downfall of a couple of his albums. For those of you like me who don't like clicking likes, here's the article... DMX Will Release ‘Redemption Of The Beast’ Album Next Week Jan 6th, '15 • by Morgan Murrell After releasing his seventh studio album Undisputed back in 2012, DMX is ready to shake things up again with his forthcoming album Redemption of the Beast. The Yonkers rapper is planning on releasing an album through iTunes on Jan. 13. Based on tracklist provided by MissInfo, the project will feature 16 never-before-heard tracks, as well as, guest collaborations from Freeway, Rampage and Jannyce. Back in September, DMX and fellow Ruff Ryder Swizz Beatz were pictured in the studio together which had media outlets wondering what the two were cooking up. Many believed a Ruff Ryders collaborative album was in the works, but this might have been the project he was working on the entire time. Check out the official tracklist below: 1. Spit That **** 2. Built Like a Bitch 3. On and On 4. Get Up and Try Again 5. Solid (feat. Rampage) 6. I’m Gonna Win 7. It’s a Problem 8. It’s Goin’ Down 9. Shout It 10. One More Night 11. 56 Bars 12. Where You Been (feat. Freeway) 13. Right or Wrong (feat. Jannyce) 14. Gonna Get Mine 15. We Gonna Make It 16. Love That Bitch (feat. Jannyce) -
Kanye West Feat. Paul Mccartney "Only One"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
I recently listened to the song. I like a lot of the lyrics, which is something I don't think I said for a Kanye song in 6 years or so. I'd really like this song if a qualified singer was singing it. The autotune kills the honestly of it and cheapens the whole thing. His singing is simply terrible and distracts the track from having the potential of greatness with him on the mic. I suggest giving the song to someone like Jason Mraz, because the song has potential. Also, JJ Boogie, who plays guitar in Arrested Development, and who is a musical genius said "Just heard the new Kanye song featuring Paul McCartney on keys. There's so much audible Autotune on Kanye's voice to get his bad notes he sang into key that he should have just hired Paul to sing it and have himself play the MPC sampling Paul's keyboard. Nice message but a painfully mediocre song." LOL -

FABOLOUS "WILL SMITH" FREESTYLE
JumpinJack AJ replied to JumpinJack AJ's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I'm not really a fan of Fabolous. Lyrically, to me, he's about as average as they come. I haven't listened to all of his stuff, but I don't really remember him recording anything very powerful or meaningful. I feel like the only Fabolous songs I really love are the ones with good guest artists, or a producer who gave him a nice mainstream, Hip-Hop sound. His monotone voice and delivery is boring to me. He sounds so uninteresting on his records that I don't even think he's interested in what he's saying.- 4 replies

Kanye West Feat. Paul Mccartney "Only One"
JumpinJack AJ replied to bigted's topic in Caught in the Middle
The video has been removed. I saw that the song had come out but never gave it a listen simply because of one fact (okay, it's really my opinion): Kanye simply doesn't make good music anymore. Secondly (and this is a fact): he's an absolute douche bag, with a horrible voice, who hasn't written a good lyric in at least 6 or 7 years. I'll give it a listen the next time I come across the track since you give it praise...but I'm not going out of my way to look for it...lol.
