That's not exactly true. Alot more people watched The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air than people who bought their albums and singles. U can sell a million records and be a very sucessful artist. If u only have a million people watching your TV show, u'll be pulled off the air by the next week. There are alot of people who found out about JJ+FP thru' the show (not JJ+FP fans watching the show...tho' they did of course). I waz at a party last summer and 4 some reason, some guy i didn't know waz talking about "U Saw My Blinker" and he ended the sentence with "off Homebase, Jazzy Jeff + Fresh Prince's 1st album." It's funny cuz alot of people did think that Homebase waz their 1st album cuz they thought JJ+FP came out along WITH the TV show. While their music waz sucessful, it waz the TV show that put them out in front of a whole new audience that otherwise would never had heard of them.

And i'll totally defend "U Can't Touch This." It waz that single song that propelled Hip-Hop and Rap music 2 where it waz. After all, MC Hammer did have a toothpaste (anyone remember it...it waz purple...ha ha.) "U Can't Touch This" is a Hip-Hop classic dance song. Anyone who waz down with Hammer pre-Can't Touch This will remember the pure energy he'd bring in his music. He went on 2 employee 100s of people, crossover multiple Hip-Hop songs on2 pop radio and put on possibly the best show any Hip-Hop artist has ever done. Without MC Hammer and "U Can't Touch This," Hip-Hop wouldn't be anywhere close 2 where it is 2day. Emcees and rappers would never had gotten on TV, making creative music videos, being treated as a musical artist and not just a rap artist, and proper marketing. Diss him all u want, but without Hammer, Hip-Hop simply wouldn't be where it is. He's still one of my favorite emcees and 2 this day he's realer than any fool u'll find on the charts these days. Now "Ice Ice Baby"...i can't say anything positive there. Vanilla Ice waz just capitalizing of MC Hammer in my eyes. He copyed his style down 2 a tee.

The only video i remember being premiered on the show waz "Boom! Shake The Room." I don't think they should put the JJ+FP music videos on the DVD released tho.' Jive just needs 2 put 2gether a new JJ+FP: Greatest Hits video collection. No reason 2 mix 'em.

My guess is that Kanye produced something 4 him. I see that more likely than them appearing side by side on a track lyrically. Most of Kanye's beats are good and alot of his verses are good...so i'd be up 4 anything.

I don't care if Eminem keeps making music, especially if he actually would make good music again. I just hate the idea that such a negative, egotistical fool like him can be on top of the charts, making all this money, getting all this attention, and being looked up 2 by young kids who don't know any better. There are much more talented and good people out there who deserve the level of fame he has. His core audience has abandoned him cuz he dosen't make quality music 4 them anymore. It's all commercial music fans who jumped on the band wagon after some Hip-Hop fans got in2 him.

I have all my music and movies organized and in ABC order. I've been meaning 2 update my DVD/VHS collection for months so i'll probably post it when i finally get around 2 it.

Yeah, i agree that R-N-B has been a bit watered down since the late 90's. I personally wait on artists like Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Brandy, Jon B, Babyface, Musiq, R. Kelly, and a few others 2 put out dope albums everytime. Over all, i like more current R-N-B than Rap. Most rap these days has nothing 2 do with Hip-Hop and simply isn't any good. Average music is better than just bad music and unless u dig deep and stay current, u won't find any Hip-Hop or good Rap music. If it's on MTV more than 3 times a day, chances are, it isn't any good.

Oh please...this is so silly. FP didn't say anything offensive or disrespectful...he only enlightened some people on something that they don't understand, and there 4 they feel offended (becuz of their own ignorance). I seriously doubt this is gonna slow up FP's Hip-Hop or Hollywood moves. It nice 2 see a rapper catch some flack 4 actually stand 4 something instead of just getting controversy 4 no real reason (at least no intellegent reason) for 1ce.

There more 2 being a great artist than vocal talent. Keith Sweat is the man. A great producer, song writer, hit maker, and a singer, but his voice has always been less than incredible. I'm not knocking him, i'm a bit Keith Sweat fan (and one of the few people who did by Rebirth). He's an R-N-B legend, but Usher has that superstar quality going on about him. Why compare them like this...they are R-N-B standouts to 2 different generations. I believe that Usher is gonna be the MJ of the next generation. Just compare his talents and style of 2days standards 2 how MJ did it in the 80's and early 90's. People always hate on who's big. It's the heart behind the artist that makes me like them or dislike them. Usher's got heart and when i hear him sing the stuff he dose, it speaks 2 me as another young male who's gone thru' the same stuff. Then u look at the way he handle's his career. He really goes 4 all that superstardom stuff he's got going 4 him.

MISSY 'MISDEMEANOR' ELLIOT - Pass That Dutch I got her latest album about a year ago and didn't like it that much...and have hardly listened 2 it. I know it's late, but i'm giving it another chance.

No, it's "Get Up! (Before The Night Is Over)"...after this post waz made i went up stairs and listened 2 my Technotronic CD. If it were "Pump Up The Jam" it would be easy 2 know what song it is cuz they say "pump up the jam" and "pump it up" 100 times in the hook. Trust me on this one.

:roll: Is this 4 real?? I waz actually wondering how his new album waz doing. He definitly isn't making a splash anymore like he used 2. All those gimmicks he's been making a career off of are getting a bit played out and his music is getting very stale and recycled. I know he's gonna remain sucessful 4 awhile...but FP called it when he said that Eminem wouldn't be on the same level of sucess that he waz at when he called him out on "Real Slim Shady" 5 years later. :hilarious:

Keith Sweat is a legend, but lets be real. He can't "perform circles" around Usher. Keith is a very avearge singer, he's never been a vocal gem in the world of R-N-B. Usher has a voice that wales, dance steps nobody can touch, crowd interaction, and costume changes. That "Great artists don't lipsync at all" is the silliest thing i've ever heard. Nearly every artist in the business has lipsynced at times, no matter how talented they are. JJ+FP has done it, Run-DMC has done it, TLC has done it, Keith Sweat has done it, and so on. I have video and/or audio footage of it. Sometimes that's just the way things are. And Ludacris' show waz very boring. If u wanna see a Hip-Hop artist or group do a REAL live show, go see JJ+FP, LL Cool J, KRS-One, Wyclef, Black Eyed Peas, TLC, Run-DMC, Naughty By Nature. They have DJ's, dancers, break dancers, crowd interaction, energy, costume changes, etc. Sometimes people call that stuff "hollywood"...but there's nothing wrong with a good show. Ludacris just rapped his songs over instrumentals. He's flow waz also really sloppy compared 2 the album/studio versions. Nothing is interesting about a guy just on stage rapping with 2 no-name fools walking around screaming half of his lyrics.

Which "other guy?" There's a few. I've never noticed Teddy Riley in it b4, i'll try 2 watch it and see who u might be talkin' about.

Maybe it's an overseas thing. I've been watching Usher do his thing since i waz 13 years old (that's over 10 years ago) and i've only seen him lipsync a few times. When u do shows like Soul Train, all of the artists lipsync...it's the way they run the show. I've only seen MC Hammer perform totally live on Soul Train back in 1995. I've seen the live shows he's released and most of the award shows he's done an it's only been live. A few years ago he danced 2 "I Need A Girl" with Puffy. His backing vocals were on the track but he didn't even pretend 2 lipsync, he just danced. I've seen Ludacris perform live. It waz just boring 2 me. A rapper on stage with 2 or 3 people just adlibbing half of his lines while he walked around on the stage for about half an hour.
