LMNT - Forgot To Forget This is an R-N-B/Pop song i accidently stumbled on by a pop group from 2002. I love this song so much.

willjadafan usually updates us on this stuff. If she hasn't posted it, then it won't be anytime soon.

That's a silly ?uestion. "Girls Ain't Nothing Trouble" waz intended 2 be a big single and it waz their big break. "Guys Ain't Nothing But Trouble" waz the 5th single from Rock The House and waz released promotionally 4 DJs 2 play in clubs and on the radio. It waz put out 2 keep the word of JJ+FP out there but it waz never intended 2 be a HUGE single or anything. I'm truely struggling 2 understand why this waz asked.
-
I can't agree. They were said in totally differenet lights. There waz nothing about what FP said...but KRS-One's comment waz disrespectful. He's an incredible artist and a very intellegent person...but in that statement, he waz just wrong.

2 PAC & JADA - PARENTS JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND
JumpinJack AJ replied to fan 4ever's topic in Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince
I lost my mind when they 1st showed this. I think i 1st saw it on the Kenan Ivory Waynes Show when Jada waz on it. I didn't check the video since i've seen it b4. I know there is a version of this online taken from the KIW Show. I waz wondering if this is that version cuz if it isn't and might be longer than the clip i've seen and have on tape, i'd wanna check it out. -

Welcome the board!!! This is the real place 2 be for a real JJ+FP fan.
-
Yeah, i misunderstood it when i 1st read it.
-
Yeah, it's not a JJ+FP song. I never heard the song becuz someone who knew what they were talking about it gave it a listen and they said it waz an Eazy-E song (cuz JJ+FP and Eazy-E sound so alike :nhawong:). When Napster waz huge, some fool put it up there and called it a JJ+FP song. It's funny how that snowballed and websites still have that on it.

I know Da Brakes performs from tyme 2 tyme and in the past we've had other emcees, singers, or actors post on various JJ+FP/WS boards. I have a show going up this weekend and it made me wonder how many other performers visit this board, what they do, their views on an audience, and what kinda things they do 2 prepare 4 performances. This week i've been very busy with rehearsals and taking somethings in2 my own hands when it comes 2 the tech side of my show, costuming, and adding flava 2 the show. We are opening up a play called The Skin of Our Teeth which is a 3-Act show about how the human race overcomes struggle. At the very end of last week, i went 2 a radio station with 2 of my cast members (and friends) 2 record voice overs 4 a radio advertisement airing on our local Hip-Hop/R-N-B station (which is kinda funny since i don't think it'll be being heard by the right audience. It's apparently airing on other stations tho.' 2day i had 2 meet with the local news paper for a photo shoot and interviews. Alot of places i go 2 have posters 4 the show up as well. The rest of the week i've requested off work so i can keep working with the script and polishing my part up. I also try 2 keep a small workout going 2 keep my body active in hopes of keeping it releaxed when the show is going on. I just can't wait 2 get out in front of an audience cuz that's where all the magic happens. When i focused on music more, i used 2 perform where i knew there would be an open mic. I would just do a very laidback song or 2 with no real preperation. However, doing music is usually much more fun 2 do in front of people. Anyways, let me hear from whoever else who is a performer. I'm just interested in hearing what other artistic people here do and their experiences. If there is a reply or 2 or an interest in this topic, i'll share some amusing stories. If u are an emcee, singer, actor, or dancer...let it be known.

The Best of.... 1990 (Rap/Hip Hop)
JumpinJack AJ replied to mfuqua23's topic in Caught in the Middle
Same here...especially the 1st half. I plan on making my 1990 list sometime very soon. -
Here we go again...CLASSIC? Puh-leeze!! The term "classic" can only apply 2 something that is not only good music and loved by millions, but loved by millions 4 years 2 come. U wanna hear a real classic, come over 2 my crib right now, i got Run-DMC's "Raising Hell" on.

lambert....how many people do u know who listen 2 Emiem also say people like Rakim and KRS-One are the personification of Hip-Hop (cuz they are...that's not opinion, it's fact). Most likely none...the majority of Eminem fans don't even know who they are. U know why, cuz they weren't old enuff 2 know about Hip-Hop when their music waz at the top. U can't compare Eminem's music 2 Rakim's...they aren't similar at all. People who listen 2 quality music like De La Soul's aren't buying Eminem's newer albums. Everyone has their own opinion on music. There's nothing wrong with that, but quit trying 2 prove that his music is relevant or comparable 2 that of Hip-Hop's greatest. That's just stupid. I like Fan_3's stuff that i've heard so far...creative lyrics, crazy beats, just the kinda stuff i really like. But never will i be comparing her 2 Run-DMC. Her biggest fan (if they would have a knowlege of true Hip-Hop) would never do that. How u gonna say Eminem is simply that good. Early in Eminem's career, lots of my friends liked his music. Now none of my friends who are true-skool Hip-Hop heads feel that way. The only ones that still do buy his new albums are my 20 year old friend who only listens 2 Top 40 radio and one of my co-workers who practices witchcraft, trys 2 be goth, but talks like a valley girl.

Yeah, i don't think their is anyway 2 avoid JJ+FP, but i don't want their music videos, it just dosen't make sense. I'd like them 2 have a feature on JJ+FP, but not music videos and stuff like that. I really hope that they put that 100 Episode special during the 5th season (or whatever season it went on). If the DVD sets of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air do well enuff, it'll increase the chance more bonuses on future releases AND maybe even push Jive 2 re-release their music videos.

HA HA!!! My dad used 2 listen 2 Air Supply in the 80's!! Right now i'm listening 2 "Brand New Funk" of this 1996 compilation CD i have called History of Rap: Volume 2. TONE LOC: Funky Cold Medina LL COOL J: I'm Bad TOO SHORT: Short But Funky ERIC B. + RAKIM: Mictrophone Fiend DJ JAZZY JEFF + FRESH PRINCE: Brand New Funk SALT 'N PEPA: Push It (Remix) KID 'N' PLAY: Do This My Way ULTRAMAGNETIC MC'S: Ease Back STETSASONIC: Sally KING SUN: Hey Love

I waz listening 2 their album last nite. When u haven't heard the songs in a long time, u'd think they sound the same...but most of the songs stand on their own. I waz listening 2 it and it just took me back 2 the time when u could catch their stuf on the radio. I wonder what Technotronic would sould like if they were still making music. I kinda miss Hip-Hop club music. They should be remixing todays biggest Hip-Hop hits in2 club versions.

Welcome 2 the board!! That's what alot of us are expecting.
-
That's not exactly true. Alot more people watched The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air than people who bought their albums and singles. U can sell a million records and be a very sucessful artist. If u only have a million people watching your TV show, u'll be pulled off the air by the next week. There are alot of people who found out about JJ+FP thru' the show (not JJ+FP fans watching the show...tho' they did of course). I waz at a party last summer and 4 some reason, some guy i didn't know waz talking about "U Saw My Blinker" and he ended the sentence with "off Homebase, Jazzy Jeff + Fresh Prince's 1st album." It's funny cuz alot of people did think that Homebase waz their 1st album cuz they thought JJ+FP came out along WITH the TV show. While their music waz sucessful, it waz the TV show that put them out in front of a whole new audience that otherwise would never had heard of them.

Heck yeah!!!

The Best of.... 1990 (Rap/Hip Hop)
JumpinJack AJ replied to mfuqua23's topic in Caught in the Middle
And i'll totally defend "U Can't Touch This." It waz that single song that propelled Hip-Hop and Rap music 2 where it waz. After all, MC Hammer did have a toothpaste (anyone remember it...it waz purple...ha ha.) "U Can't Touch This" is a Hip-Hop classic dance song. Anyone who waz down with Hammer pre-Can't Touch This will remember the pure energy he'd bring in his music. He went on 2 employee 100s of people, crossover multiple Hip-Hop songs on2 pop radio and put on possibly the best show any Hip-Hop artist has ever done. Without MC Hammer and "U Can't Touch This," Hip-Hop wouldn't be anywhere close 2 where it is 2day. Emcees and rappers would never had gotten on TV, making creative music videos, being treated as a musical artist and not just a rap artist, and proper marketing. Diss him all u want, but without Hammer, Hip-Hop simply wouldn't be where it is. He's still one of my favorite emcees and 2 this day he's realer than any fool u'll find on the charts these days. Now "Ice Ice Baby"...i can't say anything positive there. Vanilla Ice waz just capitalizing of MC Hammer in my eyes. He copyed his style down 2 a tee. -
DOMINO - Getto Jam 1993 westcoast Hip-Hop/G-Funk classic!!

Thanx 4 that!! Where'd u get that info from?? I think it's cool that Alfonso is directing and episode...but why in the world is Lil' Jon + The Eastside Boyz gonna be on the episode?!? :nhawong:
-
Ahhh!!! 4give me, pauleywood waz right!! It is "Pump Up The Jam." :hilarious: After making the post, i had Technotronic on my mind waz going over their 3 biggest singles in my head...and realized it waz "Pump Up The Jam"...sorry. :nhawong:

The only video i remember being premiered on the show waz "Boom! Shake The Room." I don't think they should put the JJ+FP music videos on the DVD released tho.' Jive just needs 2 put 2gether a new JJ+FP: Greatest Hits video collection. No reason 2 mix 'em.
