Kanye is turning out 2 be a real punk. He's turning in2 a really self-centered fool. Who takes those award shows that seriously?!?! He's not a country music fan i assume...i know i'm not. Who says she isn't just as big as he is in the world of country music!?!

I think your topics are getting just a bit 2 silly. Jeff often talks about the nite before "Rock The House" dropped and FP said "One day i'll do movies" and Jeff said "One day i'll do music for movies." They are following their blueprints from 1987. To commercial fans, FP waz of course the frontman of JJ+FP cuz he waz the lyrical one. 2 Hip-Hop heads, Jeff actually got more props 4 being one of the greatest DJs of all time. Ready Rock C got 'nuff props 2. FP alwasy intended on taking his career 2 new levels. Jeff had that option 2, but that's not what he wants. He just wants 2 spend time in the studio and make music. Everything else comes 2nd.

What was the last album you bought?
JumpinJack AJ replied to Jazzy Julie's topic in Caught in the Middle
I picked up Shock G's album "Fear of A Mixed Planet" and Destiny's Child's "Destiny Fullfilled." Both are good...expect short reviews from me soon. -
I don't know about u guys...but most of my friends have a basic knowlege of the existance of JJ+FP. They don't know much about Jazzy Jeff's current projects these days simply cuz he dosesn't do 2 much commercial stuff...which is understandable. But most of my friend, from all areas and ages know about JJ+FP.

Yeah, i'll get Jazzy Jeff's new album if i find the 3-disc version here in the US. I have a feeling that i won't so i'll end up getting it on the internet. If it waz an actual studio album, i'd get it as soon as possible but since it's a mixtape/compilation type album, i'll wait til i find the 3-disc version. -
I don't care much that my favorite artists are often overlooked and don't have top selling albums, but it is a shame that it seems that the less talent u have, the more success u get. There isn't really anyone out there like JJ+FP, but there are true skool Hip-Hopper out there that are releasing albums. KRS-One, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Brand Nubian, LL Cool J, MC Lyte have all released albums in the past year or 2. U just gotta look around and give some artists a listen and see what fits u the best. Hopefully there will be a change in Hip-Hop/Rap's commercial success where some more artists with actual talent and creativity will get some shine.

BRAND NUBIAN - Young Son

It mentioned all the people appearing in the beginning of the show...u shouldn't have expected seeing him there after they didn't announce his name.

People who only listen 2 Top 20 Rap may have the opinion, but that's cuz they are supporting untalented artists with garbage music. Any artist outside that Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Eminem, Ludacris, G-Unit, Kanye West, Chingy, Lil' Jon, circle is ignored by top 20 Rap fans. Not all of them, but most of those above artists suck...so why are real music fans gonna care what their opinion is. JJ+FP is respected by most old skool fans. And more-adult fans of Hip-Hop respect what he dose. They might kinda laugh at songs like "Miami" and "Will 2K" but they resect his older stuff and his current stand on standards 4 his music. JJ+FP is one of the most well-known acts Hip-Hop ever brought out.
-
"Summertime"...no doubt. Other trax like "Brand New Funk" are close...but 2 me, nothing can beat "Summertime." The great thing about JJ+FP is their music never slips. Sure "Rock The House" and "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" are loaded with classic old skool Hip-Hop, but half of "Homebase" and "Code Red" are on the same level of quality. New skool stuff like "Potnas" is nearly as flawless as trax like "Summertime."

Downloading is wack...get the video!! Once u get that, u can have the real thing the way it waz meant 2 be...on a TV screen!! It's great having all those videos back 2 back, but Jive needs 2 put out a DVD. If u get the JJ+FP "Greatest Hits" video, u'll have them all but "The Things U Do."

What was the last album you bought?
JumpinJack AJ replied to Jazzy Julie's topic in Caught in the Middle
The last album i bought waz New Edition's "One Love." 2morrow i'm gonna pick up the new one from Destiny's Child (which is the release date here in the US). On ebay i've won tons of CD promo singles at 1 cent each...ha ha...Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, R. Kelly, Warren G, Immature, Janet Jackson, Usher, Dru Hill, Dr. Dre, En Vogue, Craig David. I have no idea where the seller gets all this stuff..he has at least 100 pages of CD promo singles and promo posters all at under a dollar. -
Will someone delete these ignorant replys and ban this fool.

I think it waz a good idea. If it waz filled with only previously released stuff. The Megamix waz brand new and fresh, "Lovely Daze" waz a real surprise, "Yo! Home To Bel-Air" waz also great since it wazn't commercially released at that point. Since "Men In Black" and "Just Cruisin'" were on the MIB soundtrack, i think some old skool fans probably didn't pick up the soundtrack. By Jive putting those trax on their, it probably caught up the old skool fans who didn't buy the MIB soundtrack...and since both of those songs were hits, they fit in right at home. "I Wanna Rock" and "The Things U Do" were the only trax that were worthy of being on the Greatest Hits album so i like what they desided 2 go with...especially since they weren't exactly hits...just overlooked singles.
-
On the JJ+FP Greatest Hits, they state that "Men In Black" and "Just Cruisin'" are performed by "Will Smith." They were added on as bonus material. I like the way they put those trax 2 add some new flava 2 an album filled with previously released music.
-
I like the way they say FP's new album is "highly anticipated." I liked the way Kwame said LL's "10 Millions Stars" his favorite track that he's worked on. That's definitly one of the best Hip-Hop songs in the last few years.
-
Yeah, something crazy like that would cause alot of hype and hype usually leads 2 at least some commercial sucess. Alot of artists these days can sell records on strictly hype without any talent or creativity at all. If da 'Prince did something like that, it would probably be a very smart move and shake some of the Hollywood glitter off his crown in Hip-Hop.
-
U just said a few things i thought when i saw the list but avoided saying 2 dodge another overblown disagreement. With lists like this, u gotta balance out the quality of the music with at least some success. Eminem's "Infinite" wazn't even a list, that could never be ranked. On top of that, he's acting like he's someone he isn't...how dose that make it a dope album. Even Eminem has said that's not really 'him' on the record.
-
I think it be a great way 2 comeback in2 the musical spotlight. I just doubt it's hime cuz there's nothing "shocking" about FP on the mic...even after a 2 year hiatus.
-
It probably is real...but it's obviously an unathorized bootleg. I'll do some research 2nite 2 see if i can come up with anything.
-
Alot of those albums belong there....and some of them don't.

It wouldn't make sense 2 mention how gorgous she is...she's a model...they tend 2 look good. -
I doubt it's FP, but u never know. It is about time he do someting...and he's always had a good relationship with the AMA's.
